Pembroke Lakes Elementary has been nothing short of amazing for my daughter. From the very beginning, she was surrounded by the most dedicated and inspiring teachers who pushed her to grow each yearacademically, emotionally, and socially. With every grade level, she continued to make incredible academic gains, and her confidence soared. Beyond the classroom, the wide variety of clubs and extracurriculars made a huge impact on her elementary experience. She was actively involved in Speech and Debate, SAVE Promise Club, Drama Club, Chorus Club, and PLETV, all of which helped shape her into a well-rounded, expressive, and compassionate student. Were so grateful for the opportunities and support Pembroke Lakes Elementary provided every step of the way.

This school does an excellent job of setting high expectations of students and helping them meet those expectations daily. The staff at this school are amazing. They treat students with respect, caring, and love. Students feel welcome before they even walk in the building. Teachers and administration communicate well with parents and I like receiving the principals call every Sunday to inform parents about the upcoming weeks events. Any student would be lucky to be a part of PLE!

Great administration and staff. They go above and beyond for their students as well as ensuring all students can achieve their best by providing extended learning opportunities and support for struggling students. Students that need challenging curriculum are provided those opportunities to excel.
It has been an A school for many years and students continue to score well on state tests, as well as make some of the greatest gains in the district.

Our experience at Pembroke Lakes Elementary has been incredibly positive. From the start, its been clear that the staff, teachers, and principal truly care about each student. Its not just about grades. They focus on the whole child and make sure every student feels supported.
Classrooms are welcoming and engaging. The teachers work hard to make learning fun and meaningful. They understand their students and create an environment where kids feel confident, safe, and excited to learn.
The principal is approachable and involved. She leads with kindness and sets a strong example. You can feel her presence throughout the school, and shes earned the trust of both families and staff.
The school community is strong and close-knit. Parents are involved, and communication with families is open and consistent. The PTA is fantastic. Theyre active, creative, and bring so much value through events, support, and new ideas that really enhance the school experience.
Pembroke Lakes is more than just a school. Its a place where children grow, families feel welcome, and staff work together to make sure every student has what they need to succeed. Were grateful to be part of this community.

Pembroke Lakes is an amazing school! The environment of the school has always been welcoming and safe. The front office staff is patient and helpful with any questions you may have. The administration, Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Knapp, are phenomenal. Mrs. Wagner has weekly phone calls or emails that are sent to keep parents informed of what is happening throughout the week. There are many clubs students can participate in (debate, drama, etc,) and several family nights to participate in! The teachers are amazing and you can feel the love they have for their students! PLE is an amazing school!

Pembroke Lakes Elementary has been an incredible place for my daughter since she started in Kindergarten. The communication is outstandingbetween the weekly Parent Link messages and consistent updates from her teacher, I always feel informed and connected. I especially appreciate the academic focus shared each week, along with helpful reminders that make staying on top of things so much easier.
The new Assistant Principal is a fantastic additionpersonable, knowledgeable, and already making strong connections with the students. The entire administration team is visible, engaged, and clearly committed to every childs success. Its evident that the school is dedicated to nurturing the whole child.
There are so many opportunities for families to get involvedplayground parties, movie nights, holiday events, drama and chorus shows, and the list goes on.
She also has access to a wide variety of after-school activities and absolutely loves the before and aftercare program. As a working parent, its a huge relief to know shes in a safe, fun, and enriching environmentso much so that she begs to stay longer!
The support staff has been phenomenal. When my daughter faced academic challenges, the team quickly identified her needs and provided targeted reading and math support. Their proactive approach made all the difference.
I wholeheartedly recommend Pembroke Lakes Elementary. Its more than just a schoolits a cornerstone of the community. No need to look anywhere else!

What sets Pembroke Lakes apart is the culture of kindness, high expectations, and teamwork. The principal leads with vision, compassion, and deep commitment, creating an environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

I have been a part of the PLE family since 2016 when my 1st daughter entered kindergarten there. As a new mom, I searched high and low to ensure that my child was in one of the best schools in the county and measured this school, my assigned district school, against the other schools in the area. I was very pleased to find out that this school is consistently ranked among the top 3 schools in the county, including charters. Once I met the staff, I found out why. Beginning from the top, this school is run by a team of dedicated, professional and knowledgeable women who love what they do and genuinely care for the children and their school environment, not just rankings and test scores. I was greeted by an excellent Principal, Mrs. Wagner and her fantastic Vice Principal, who literally walks children to their cars on rainy days, greets them at the front doors every morning, and is present at every single event, meeting, PTA that the school offers throughout the year. These wonderful women have created a little family environment at this school that is as nurturing as it is educational. When my older daughter left for middle school, I had the option of enrolling my younger daughter at the local city charter system with her, but we chose to stay at PLE and enroll our little one in kindergarten just like her sister before her. This is a Microsoft Showcase School, and they have earned that title because not only do they provide each child with their own laptops - at school for grades k-2 and at home for grades 3-5, but they have multiple online resources and train the kids from day one on various publishing software from word to teams to sway and so on. My daughter taught me how to use the new Office suite! If this school benefitted from the funding that the city charter receives, I have no doubt it would rival any of the private schools in the city. As it stands, it is shoulder to shoulder in the rankings with that well funded city charter. We survived through the stress that was the covid years thanks to these wonderful educators. They went above and beyond what I saw from other friends with children and implemented the school's tech program to give each child a laptop and had fully online instruction on day 1 with 2 weeks to prepare. They identified my child's learning needs before I did and addressed them quickly to ensure she remain successful student. I have nothing but praise for this school and wish they only had better district funding & recognition!

My child went to this school and was bullied by other kids of his same age. I told the teacher several times but the bullying didnt stop. I am glad my child no longer attends this school. Also, the counselor in this school is very judgmental. Not sure how she keeps her position as an elementary school guide counselor.

First, the school handled the COVID regulations as gracefully as a bull in a china shop. My kid started Kindergarten this year and due to the COVID regulations I was never allowed to even step foot inside the school. I have no idea what his learning environment has actually been like because I was robbed of the opportunity to even see where his classroom is. I've kept my mouth shut about a few of the little sayings that the teachers are teaching our children that I personally deem inappropriate such as consistently telling our children to "make it rain"(a saying related to showering strippers with money) when they do something deemed smart. However with the updates I received this week I'm pretty irate. My son's report card came out on April 10th. There were no areas of concern. His reading test scores thus far have been 100, 100, 100, 98, 100, 97, and 83. When I saw the last test score of an 83, I reached out to the Teacher and asked for a parent teacher conference on April 20th. The teacher informed me that she would be scheduling end of the year conferences for Middle of May. Thinking that I was probably over reacting about him making a B, I dropped it and signed up for a conference when she sent the link on April 22. However, I then received a generic message that never once actually said my child's name - just referring to him as "your child" the entire time. The message informed me that my child was being put on a progress monitoring plan for reading telling me that he was struggling with reading comprehension. This COMPLETELY contradicts his report cards and grades that I have been tracking. So AGAIN I reached out to the teacher on April 27th saying that IF my child is indeed struggling that I would like to set up a parent teacher conference ASAP so that we can get him on the right path. Because in us reading EVERY NIGHT together and his grades in school, I was not seeing the struggle she is suggesting. I received another email from the teacher today (the 28th) telling me that she does not have any availability whatsoever to meet with me to discuss my child's academic concerns and that I can refer to Canvas for BAS Questions. She also told me in this email that my son is currently on a level B reading level and needs to be on a level D to pass on to 1st grade. So I called the school to express my concerns and was immediately met with, " Ma'am, you have to understand. The teachers are incredibly busy with testing right now." Kindergaten is not testing

Not the place to bring your child if they have an IEP.. they are looking for test scores and cant be bothered
Posted: August 27, 2018
Ive heard there bullying policy but Ive not seen any example of it implemented. Many of their teachers are bullies... they lead by fear and intimidation
Posted: August 27, 2018
So poor and so unlike all of the reviews that are actually published on here.
There is next to zero physical activity with the kids.. PE is once a week and recess is taken away constantly!!! These young children get no Time to get their energy out. We have had several teachers who led by intimidation and honestly did not care about the students. The administration didnt care when issues were brought to them either.
The car line is a joke.. 45 minutes just to drop kids off to go to school in the morning.. and I wont even mess with Pick up because that takes hours!
So disappointed in this school that came highly recommended... they are non inclusive (especially the PTA)
They TRULY only care about test scores
Posted: April 9, 2015
The school is okay. Used to be great. But now, communication is non-existent. They cancel activities and events and don't notify parents. They send home one notice with a SAC meeting date and time, and a different one a week later. They say they will post things on the website, and they never make it. Notices only go home on Thursday. If the notices don't make it to the mailboxes or the folders in time, you are outta luck. But, they DO send a billion Parentlink messages if they want people to pay for something like aftercare. Not even Parentlinks for SAC or PTA meetings. It is frustrating and for people that try to attend as much as possible at the school, it's a real disappointment!

I can say only good things about my son's experience with Pembroke Lakes Elementary - from the phenomenal Kindergarten teacher - Mrs. Culver to the administration. I do agree that I was not happy about not being able to go into the school with my son the first day or two of Kindergarten and it was VERY stressful, but I understand the school's reasoning behind it and respect it. The parent-teacher contact is a two-way street. If you want to know how your child is doing - ASK. I have never been denied the opportunity to speak with anyone at the school. Also, I recommend that parents get involved with the school - volunteer - get into the school whenever possible. This will instantly connect you better with the administration and teachers and will enhance your childs experience.
