Last summer (2025), my wife and I decided to transfer our daughter from her private, Christian school after observing a lack of academic progress at the school. In doing so, we toured Covenant Christian School (Covenant) and were astounded by what the school offered, from a liberal arts Christian education to a plethora of extracurricular activities, both scholastic and athletic. We were not eager to have my daughter attend a new school, but were truly impressed with Covenant. Also, during our school tour, my daughter saw several students with whom she had previously attended school; apparently, we were not the only ones having made this decision.

I also liked the fact that there was an opportunity, if we chose, to have my daughter continue her high school education at Covenant. Their high school curriculum is amazing in-and-of itself.

So, as we come to the end of her first year at Covenant, what are my impressions? The education is strenuous! The school sets very high academic standards with its curriculum comparable to, if not more than other private schools in Panama City. The love and care shown to the students by the staff is a joy to observe. The school engages parents as partners, both in education and in Christ. Simply, the school sets very high academic and moral standards for its students, while ensuring the school is a joy to attend. I’ve never seen my daughter so ready to go to school every morning.

In addition to the academics, Covenant offers several extracurricular activities for their students, including varsity and junior varsity basketball and volleyball, art classes, a drama club, both archery and rifle clubs and a robotics team, among others. I don’t believe any other small school offers what Covenant is able to provide.

Covenant simply accomplishes high academic standards supported by an exceptional offering of clubs and sports teams by having a great leadership team and a full commitment to their students from their teachers and staff. Their commitment to excellence and the success of their students is readily apparent. It took us a bit to arrive at Covenant, but the blessings have been wonderful.

Think again if your child has special needs. The teachers are great that we encountered. The administration, not so much. They need to pull it together. My son has ADHD and high functioning Autism. In March 2023 his RBT came to the classroom to help, but in Dec. 2023 the day before Christmas break they told us he can no longer have this assistance and they are unable to accommodate. That he needs an aide and they don't want to do this. Its "against school policy" which it says no where in their handbook. They knew in Oct. he was struggling and needed help, but waited til BREAK to say something. We could have taken measures prior to this, like medication for my son to see if he could focus better. We instead did find a much better alternarive and withdrew him. I don't wish bad toward the school, just for them to do better so this does not happen to another child.

My child has ADHD and the teachers and Mr. Sabo, our principal, have worked diligently with us to ensure his success.

Academic excellence, Christian standards, love and faithfulness to God are the earmarks of Covenant. My oldest daughter graduated from Covenant 4 years ago and was accepted to UCF in Aerospace Engineering. She participated in the school’s growing activities and she independently walked onto Bay High’s soccer and cross country teams, without any assistance from us, during her time at Covenant. She loves the friends she has gained at this school! We have a 3rd grader and two 1st graders who adore their teachers and are flourishing here. They are participating in extracurricular activities provided at the school including football and piano and plan to play basketball and soccer again. This community cares for each other like a family. It’s been great having them all in one place too. God is working here. I can’t imagine them being anywhere else!

Absolutely Fabulous School! CCS is the best faith based school that you can send your child to. The teachers and staff build strong character in their students.

As one who has attended all the different variations of schools in Bay County, I can honestly say that CCS is the best school by far. As for the member who posted on May 10, 2007, all problems that the school has had have been disbanded by the new principal, Glenda Delmar. I expect CCS to rise to the top once again, as the school is creating a real high school next year. The staff devotes time and love to teach all thier children Christian values on a Biblical Standpoint! Go Lions!

My Son just started sixth grade here from a different private school. We are new to town and we enjoy having our Son here. They staff and other parents have been exceptionally friendly and kind. Great school. I'm impressed with the class size as well as academics. Meeting with the principal was a great experience. I'm greatful to be apart of Covenant Christian School!

My oldest started K-5 in 2003 at Covenant, after attending a private preschool elsewhere. We were impressed with the sweet & kind spirit we encountered there. When things began to change, we put our three children in a local charter school (2010), only to cringe at the curriculum and behaviors of the children. I found that since God isn't allowed in the school system, he doesn't show up. Thankfully, Covenant Christian School has made leadership changes, and is now focused on preparing our children to walk in this world while maintaining integrity, academics, morality, and most of all, faith. I would encourage any Christian parent to consider giving their children the best educational environment, hands down, in this area. After 2 years in public school, I moved my children back to C.C.S., for I want them bathed in His goodness, instead of the ugliness of of secular education. I would sacrifice my living standards to pay for this excellent faith-based education. I love that my children are surrounded in His love all day, not just at home. They love it too! P.S. Consider not the reviews around 2009-2010, for CCS is a completely different school from that time.

I've attended Covenant for four years and my time there has been a blessing. The classes are challenging and the teachers really care about their students. This is a great school!

My child attended Covenant from k-9 grade. I moved him to a charter school thinking it would be an advantage rather in the "protected atmosphere" of a Christian school. BIG mistake, the charter school was nothing but another public school dressed in fancy talk. At CCS courage for your convictions, integretry, teamwork, respect and honesty were all daily teachings by a staff that KNEW my child as a person not a number to get more funding, all things that were missing from his charter school. Needless to say he is back at Covenat and I can rest easily when he goes off to school knowing he is in good hands.

If you want an excellent education for your child that is both Christ-centered and Classical, then CCS is the only school in Bay County that can provide that for you. The Christian teachers and staff there provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that cannot be matched. From PreK3 through 8th grade, CCS students receive an education that follows the Classical Ed developmental principles of the Trivium with all subjects integrated and examined from a Biblical world and life view. Students are taught not what to think, but how to think as they interact with issues of prominence in today's culture. The PreK program at CCS surpasses all other early childhood programs in this county! The School of Grammar (Grades K5-5th) provides rigorous academics in a loving, orderly, and nurturing environment. The School of Logic (Grades 6-8) gives pre-teens and teens room to grow their faith and debate, discuss, and examine all things thru the lens of Scripture. The teaching of Latin begins in 2nd grade and what these children are able to retain and recite in the following years will blow you away! The school-wide IOWA test scores put CCS students in the top national percentiles. C 4 Urself

Truth, honor, and courage. In a time when truth is mocked, honor forgotten, and courage is nowhere to be found, there are precisely the principles that CCS is teaching students. Not only does CCS maintain Christ-centered curriculum, but they use Classical curriculum. Kids learn more than how to manage a specific vocation- they learn how to think, and think in Latin at that! I could not recommend a school more. If you want an environment where your children will excel, think, and grow under constant prayer from it's staff, CCS is it.
