This school is a rare gem. Students are valued and given room and grace to grow. If you have a struggling child, they have paraprofessionals that will work individually with your child to give them a little special one on one.
If you want a team that will all join together to help your child's success in education and life, this is the school for you!

The principal at the school is fantastic but the school leaves a lot to be desired. My daughters 3rd grade teacher was extremely religious and very sheltered. She told the entire 3rd grade class that there was no such thing as Santa. This greatly upset my daughter. I contacted the principal and she said the teacher was so sheltered (think the Amish) she didnt know kids actually believed. The teachers father and sister are also teachers at the school but apparently didnt tell her anything about Santa or anything else young children believe. The teacher was out of touch and didnt know how to relate to the children.
My daughter told me there was no school library the kids visited and that the 3rd grade teacher did not have books in the classroom and didnt have them do any independent reading in class.
The school also doesnt follow the same grading scale as every other school in the county. At this school a 94 is a B. This greatly confused my daughter on why a 94 for her was a B but it was an A for her older sister.
We did really like the principal and probably would have given 4th grade a chance except the school increased tuition without any notice for next year. It wasnt in the enrollment docs or on the website until school was over and we were partly in summer. My daughter had a scholarship and I found out from the scholarship. The tuition went up about $1200. This was going to have me owing a balance for next year of about $500. I was fine paying that but I emailed the school to ask if this large of an increase was normal and if this would be an every year thing. I was hoping for reassurance that next year I wouldnt be owing $2500 out of pocket. The lady that replied was rude and never answered my questions. I cc the principal in all of the emails but she never replied. I ended up finding a charter school for my daughter for next year instead. The $600 registration fee for returning students is crazy. Why would they need $600 for a returning student?

We have been going to this school now for almost a year. I have read the reviews and I can say, as of right now, this school is pretty amazing. The staff is always there if you need to talk to them about your child. Yes, there are contingencies in place if your child acts up but it is not too harsh. We have not had any bullying issues yet. Are child does NOT have any special learning issues, so I cannot comment on this aspect. My advice to parents with learning issues is to do their research and pick a school that will help their child. OR maybe step up and do some of the teachings themselves. Either way, I think this school is pretty awesome. Small classes help with direct contact with all students. Again, this is only the 2nd year our student is going to this school, and things chang. Teachers chage. So, we shall see.

We loved it for our family. Three of our children went on to college finished strong in their chosen careers and life choices after graduating from Oldsmar Christian. The school and staff cared about each of my children and always stayed in direct communication about grades, issues, or needs. None of my children got "lost". They were all loved and cared for with extra attention exactly where they needed it.

We love it! All four of our children attended and now our grandchildren are attending. It says something for a school when its graduates later send their own children to be educated there.

Teachers are caring and motivated to help the students. The number of kids in class are small which allow the teachers to be closer to students and parents. I love how the teacher speak with me ( parent) and answers all my questions. So different to the public schools where in my past experience I felt like the teachers did not care. Oldsmar has a family feel.

I am a parent of a child that has speech delay and ADD. We changed my child from the public school to Oldsmar Cristian and we could not be happier. This school helped us get all the necessary adjustment my child need in order for him to adapt to the school. They were quick., teacher was very flexible and helpful too. When we told the teacher he had ADD she right the way assigned him to sit in the front seat.

So far is been great. My son has a hard time going to the public school, he was so unhappy and not motivated at all. He would come home and cry very often. Oldsmar Cristian has been a life saver, my son now comes home with a smile in his face everyday and despite of his learning issues and feels motivated because he has a teacher that really cares and works with him. I think all he needed was to feel someone was there to help him and he gets that at Oldsmar Cristian. Everyone and this school are so nice, they care, they are like family. Small environment allow to have a much warmer feel than the public school.

They live by what they believe in! They really follow The Word of God. They are fair to the students, kids make mistakes and are not judged by them, GRACE is a big one in this school and at the same time kids don't get away with misbehaviour.

We love this school! Our kids look forward to it every morning! The environment is loving and strict at the same time. In this school kids can be kids!

This school is awful. Yes, it is a step up from public. That's it. If you're actually paying for your child to attend- go elsewhere. No hands on teaching. Children must sit in their seats for extended boring periods. Does not make the children "love to learn". I have 3 kids that go here and they all are bored in class. AND they use the bible as a punishment. who's idea was that? lastly- most- if not all- the "teachers" hold no formal teaching degree or specialize in childhood education. I bet most of these posts are from the staff because a lot of them have children that attend!!!!!

A teacher at this school with a degree in Biology will be enlisted to teach additional classes unrelated to their specialty such as Economics or Psychology. Teachers are unqualified to teach multiple subjects. Discipline is virtually nonexistent. Bullying and drugs are constant issues which are not addressed. Student body consists of tight cliques of Christian students who have been at the school for many years. If your child's beliefs don't align, prepare for alienation. Staff consists of unqualified parents. My son's needs were not addressed, but the school was happy to call me regarding tuition payment. STAY AWAY!

I posted a review yesterday. It did not violate the terms of service, but this website chose to delete my review. Therefore I have lost all faith in this website. They are not allowing parents like me to tell the truth about schools when it is not good news. I will keep this short. If your child is on a McKay scholarship, I would advise to look elsewhere. You will not get any consideration for your child's situation.

Oldsmar Christian is by far the best school. The class sizes are small so each child gets lots of attention from a caring, loving, nurturing teacher. Going to school shouldn't be stressful and at Oldsmar Christian it isn't. My son never really enjoyed school, that is, until he went to Oldsmar Christian. Now, he loves going. I highly recommend this school, especially to someone that is fed up with the rigmarole of public school and is looking for a fantastic Christan- based education.

Be careful not to go by what a bitter parent has to say about this school. Discipline is crucial to the well-being of a child. If writing Bible verses feels like cruel and unusual punishment for children, we have to fear the type of adults they'll grow up to be! If you are looking for a school that will allow children to do whatever they please, take them to the nearest public school. If you are looking for a school to help train up your child in the ways of the Lord, OCS is for you. As for the comments made about the quality of teaching, talk to graduates of OCS who are amazing their college professors with their advanced knowledge... which they attained at OCS. As the parent of a high school graduate of OCS, I can also tell you that parents have complete access to their child's grades at all times. They also truly care about the well being and future of their students. No place is perfect, but I would choose OCS again in a heartbeat.

This used to be a fairly good school, but the quality of teaching & facilities is rapidly diminishing. Kids are having more & more trouble actually learning. The current teachers are demerit-crazy at this school. I know children with physical problems that make it difficult for them to write so many demerits, but the teachers and office staff don't seem to care. I agree with the statement someone else made about their brand of discipline and the extremes they take it to inspire rebellion more than change.
