They take the kids that other schools give up on and help them find the path to success. My daughter graduated last night and has been accepted to a State University. We are proud of her accomplishments in the classroom, and thankful to Greenwood for making it possible.

There will never be a perfect school, but Greenwood is the best I have ever worked with. I have brought in multiple employees to this school because I love working here. The people I refer to work here love it, too! The vast majority of students are kind, respectful, and reasonable. My colleagues as a whole are passionate, innovative, patient, and sensible. I love knowing the name of every person in the building and greeting them all by name-- perks of a smaller school! I love the constant focus on strengthening our current environment while working towards improvements and growth.

My child has been thriving both academically and socially since starting 6th grade at Greenwood. She has taken a new level of personal responsibility, setting goals for herself, and has been so motivated to participate in school and extracurricular activities. She comes home almost daily praising Greenwood for helping her be happy and successful. All the staff are supportive and really engage with and understand the kids. The school is safe, organized, clean and everyone is professional. I am so grateful that this school is providing opportunities for my daughter to become the best version of herself.

This is our 4th year at Greenwood and we couldn't be happier. Our son, who has numerous challenges, has shown enormous improvement both academically and socially. The teachers and administration work hard to truly understand each child there, as well as their differences, and teach them accordingly. As such, our son's grades and self-confidence have never been higher. I'm able to reach teachers and the administration whenever I feel I need to, and I'm confident my child is safe and in very capable hands. This school has made an enormous impact on our son and our family.

We return this year for our sons fifth year at Greenwood. He has had a very positive experience throughout middle school and now high school. He was not well understood in other private schools or public school. At Greenwood, we see that he is understood for his unique strengths and challenges and more importantly, he knows he is understood. Our son has never fit a cookie cutter mold for development or learning and the staff and faculty have inspired him and motivated him to grow and learn when others, outside of Greenwood, could not. He has made very deep and meaningful friendships which have allowed us as parents to make some very meaningful friendships and connections with parents who have similar lived experience of trying to see their child completely. If you are reading this and this particularly resonates with you, consider Greenwood for your student. We are so grateful for the opportunity, in our community, for our son to attend this school. We very much appreciate the strength, warmth, and advocacy of the Greenwood community.

After years of disappointment with our previous schools we came to Greenwood hopeful. Our son was crippled with anxiety, and due to his academic and social-emotional needs not being met he hated school. Since coming to school weve seen our son blossom, he loves school and is making friends. Academically he is doing very well and he loves his teachers and classes. The staff do an amazing job creating an inclusive environment where students feel they belong and feel safe to be their authentic self. The teachers also create exciting learning environments that create meaningful dialogue inspiring critical thinking. Our experience at Greenwood has been nothing but positive and were so thankful we found this school.

My son has been attending Greenwood since 6th grade. He is currently in 9th. He has continually improved in his benchmarks and has grown in confidence yearly. He loves going to school and all the extracurricular clubs make it super enjoyable. He has tried all kinds of activities because of Greenwood. The teachers care so much about the kids at the school. Choosing Greenwood was the best decision our family made.

I had the privilege of attending Greenwood School from 3rd grade through to graduation, a full ten years that shaped not just my education, but who I am today. Greenwood wasnt just my school; it was my childhood and the foundation that prepared me for adulthood.
One of the most significant aspects of Greenwood is its unique approach to learning. Diagnosed with dyslexia as a young student, I struggled to process letters into words in a way that made sense. It wasnt until my parents and I discovered Greenwood that everything changed. The schools tailored learning strategies and dedicated teachers provided the consistent support I needed, turning what once felt like an insurmountable challenge into a pivotal turning point in my education.
After graduating from Greenwood, I pursued a degree in broadcast journalism and Spanish at Flagler College. My education there led to an internship at Voice of America, an international news organization in Washington, D.C. I began in a modest role, but worked my way to a reporter role, publishing stories.
My career eventually shifted from journalism to digital marketing, where I founded a digital marketing agency specializing in real estate. The leadership skills, perseverance, and dedication that drive my success today were all cultivated during my time at Greenwood.
Greenwood is more than just a school. Its a nurturing environment that empowers students to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Im incredibly grateful for the foundation it provided me, and Im excited to see what future students will go on to accomplish.
Thank you, Greenwood School, for what you all do!

This school has continued to go downhill from when mt child started a few years ago. Now in high school, we are stuck with no other options to transfer since this school is drastically below every other high school in Jacksonville academically. The headmaster just blankly smiles and nods while nothing is registering and she offers no solutions when concerns are brought up. Grading is skewed where they calculate grades off of each standard, so if you child misses one assignment for a standard and gets a 100 on the other two standard assignments, they automatically fail the quarter with a 66%. They have a good idea behind the purpose of the school, but the execution is poor. I hope the school board invests more time in delving into the day to day of the school operations instead of this disconnected approach.

The high school bio teachers were both good same with the marine science teacher
US history and Econ teacher is good
They give 11/12th graders gym
Lack in higher level classes and no AP classes

My son, who is on the autism spectrum and also has ADHD, has been a student at Greenwood for 1.5 years. So far our experience has been a hugely positive one. My son is an eager learner but he struggles with social-emotional skills and executive functioning tasks. Most of the teachers and administration seem to "get" him - they understand that some things are harder for him (flexibility, social communication, handwriting, project planning, etc.) and have been compassionate and creative in coming up with solutions. I love that he's in a school that supports his needs while also providing the "typical" school experience (a standard academic curriculum along with field trips, dances, sports teams, clubs, etc.). The only negative thing I could say is that not a lot of homework comes home so sometimes I wonder what he's learning in his classes and if he's being challenged enough academically.
Our experience has been that Greenwood is a safe, compassionate, family-oriented school.

Do not send your loved on to this school. My child's self-esteem plummeted. They are not trained as they claim to work with kids on the spectrum and the administration is not compassionate when dealing with disabilities. They were warm and inviting for the tour. Once my child began attending the school, the attitude changed. It was like they went from warm and friendly to not remembering who we were. The administrator expelled 8 kids from my child's class during the year, leaving the parents holding the bill. The parents had to pay out the year. The administration did not follow a progression of discipline but went straight to expulsion. I can understand that there are circumstances in which this may be warranted, but 8? In one class? I feel that this school is not as interested in assisting children as it claims.

I was very hopeful when I enrolled my son in high school here two years ago. Its been rough for him. Communication is all but non-existent. I really hoped for more feedback from teachers but there are many teachers I have never heard from, ever! Bullying is a real problem. There are many times I question that the teachers have any training with special needs based on what I hear from my child. The things he tells me reminds me of how teachers in his old school reacted to challenges- both academically and socially. Its very disappointing. Honestly, I have considered changing schools for this very reason but there arent many good options out there, sadly. I hope with a new principal starting soon teachers will get more training.

I couldn't be more impressed by the administration or staff. A genuine, caring family of individuals who truly care about the students and each other. I am a new teacher to the private school setting after 10 years of public school service. In the public schools teaching has resorted to focusing on a standardized test rather than student learning. In addition to the test driven instruction, delivery of material has been robbed of the ability to probe student interest. Greenwood has all bases covered and I feel very blessed to have been introduced to such a phenomenal school.

Unlike some parents who have reviewed based off of the PTO events they've attended, I actually attended and graduated from Greenwood. While I loved attending there initially, my senior year was when things really began to change. My favorite teacher left right before the year started and they replaced her with someone who was not qualified to teach chemistry. Instead of finding someone qualified to teach chemistry, they did FLVS instead. I still haven't figured out how you're supposed to earn a lab credit for an online course, but whatever. Some teachers were given classes this year that they had not taught before, and thus were learning the material just as the students were. I made the honor roll every quarter I was there, so I can't really attest to prior comments about students being told they were unteachable. However, I do know that you have to have at least a 2.0 to stay there. In fact, my senior class went from over 27 when I started to 21 by the time graduation came around.
