This school is horrible, we strongly recommend to look else where.
Most teachers don’t care and good luck dealing with the VP and the Principal. We had to pull our son out of this school. We transferred him to a charter school near by and so much better

I went to the school for sixth grade in the 2021-2022 school year I had a horrible time here every every day I didn’t wanna wake up because I knew I’d have to go to this school the teachers don’t care about your learning. The students are probably the worst part about the school. I mean just the most spoiled rude mean kids I was bullied and made fun of for nothing I hated every single one of my classes. They were just so awful And so painful to get through. I switched to another school for 7th grade.

I have to say that my daughter is a 7th grader at Silver trail middle and ever since the new principal Dr. Nesmith has been in the control everything has been amazing. Middle school is usually a difficult time for kids but I have to give it to administration because they are on point. If my daughter has ever had an issue with class mates they nip it in the butt immediately. You can tell they really love and take care of the kids. Hands down teachers and administrators at Silver Trail Middle are the BEST!!!
I send my daughter to school everyday knowing that she will be treated well and taken care of.

Principal Frazier is awol - No returned calls, or e-mails.

The sports department is a total joke. There is no advance notification of schedules, nor a proper coach. I think it's one person "coaching" all the different sports, and the 'team' they select is excessively small, comprised of almost all 8th graders, so there is no training of the younger students to replace the ones moving on to high school.

If you want your child to have a well rounded middle school experience, this is NOT the place.

I wish I could give them constructive criticism, but there is no interest on their side on how they can improve.

If your child is in one of their feeder grade-schools, I highly recommend enrolling them elsewhere.

I chose this school thinking we will get top of the line education. Honestly, I homeschooled my child before and he blossomed way more than in this school. Many teachers are taking advantage of the teaching from home and i think it all starts at the top. There’s no accountability whatsoever. I called and complained about my son’s LA teacher being MIA for 10 days with no notice or substitute and administration had no clue. Can’t wait to finish the year and homeschool my son again. What a waste of a year...I feel bad for the students whose parents can’t supplement for them the lack of these teachers! What happens to these kids’ futures down the road because a teacher is lazy and milking the social distancing option. Very sad!

Worst school ever because my daughter was a very enthusiastic student and in this school she lost interest in her studies.

Posted: June 21, 2019

The teachers are terrible because they don’t care about the students progress

Posted: June 21, 2019

The don’t care about the students and they have very little knowledge on topics they are teaching and/or do not know how to teach them

Posted: June 21, 2019

They don’t care about the students. They don’t have awards, competitions, nothing to catch the students attention

AMAZING SCHOOL! My kid only came because she had to finish off public school to get the MKay Scholarship! And I have to say this school was perfect she went only for 8th and we had the best experience! Teachers all spoke English and thats a big plus! She is no in American heritage with the scholarship and is doing amazing thanks to this school preparing her! This was really a good choice I recommend it to any parents! 10/10

I have honestly strongly disliked my experience. There is so much pressure and work put onto students that is completely overwhelming. They go about education in the worst way. They use worthless techniques that make students hate the topics. I have had a terrible experience!

Posted: January 13, 2019

There is extreme amounts of homework and projects!

Posted: January 13, 2019

Most are kind, but don’t have great teaching methods. I don’t believe it is their fault though.

Number one school!!! My daughter just graduated from eighth grade and did great. The teachers are wonderful and very bright. They are strict and the security is awesome Thank you guys for all three years. Now I have am eighth grader and she us excited to start. That makes me so happy cause she enjoys all her teachers and new friends. Thank you to all teachers and principal and assistant principal and everyone at Silver Trail Middle.

I just recently graduated from Silver Trail and it is a well controlled school. The principal is always there wondering the halls, giving secret visits, ETC. There are vice principals for every grade. There is little to no bullying. The guidance counselors are very helpful. It is strict on ID policy. The school is a very safe environment, example, there was a bomb threat an they evacuated immediately and passed out waters because of the heat. Overall the school is incredible. I recommend it for parents who are looking for a good school.

Some teachers are horrible. Especially the algebra and Gem math teachers. The algebra teacher simply did not teacher the material. Some of the administrative staff don't care about giving the children a good foundation in certain subjects. Overall, very unhappy with this school.

This school is terrible. I'm from new York and my daughter was in accelerated math. I moved to this school and was put in their 7th grade accelerated math, but the things they're teaching right now in STMS are things that the sixth grade regular math in the old school were learning. The teachers aren't too great either. My daughter is very unhappy with this school.

We have had a truly wonderful experience at this school. Quite different from the previous school attended by our children. Other families that I brought to the school have also had a positive experience. Kudos to the Administration, parents, teachers, staff and students.

Silver Trail Middle School is the best! My oldest boy graduated from there two years ago and my youngest is in his last year there. Both have expressed having positive experiences. We as parents have found this to be true as well.

I agree with the 5/17/13 review. Based on our experience, there are instructors that have good teaching skills and listen to student and parent needs when they are raised. However, there are still many instructors that, when approached or questioned about their teaching methods or response to students who respectfully question why something is done, react in a very defensive and negative manner. This negative response is to both the parent and student. To the parents, as in our case, they simply defend why they do what they do without even considering possible alternatives simply because...."THEY ARE THE TEACHER!" I'm sorry, but that just simply is not a good enough response. The position of the faculty is that they are open-minded and willing to work with students and parents to make learning and overall school experience a positive one but when those faculty members that are not meeting this goal are actually challenged to meet this expectation, there responses are very disappointing. Therefore, these instructors (who have developed a poor reputation amongst students and parents) continue to remain less than average because of their stubborness to keep an open mind.

the school is exellent, very strict and the teachers very well qualified. they encourage students always to do extra curricular work to maximise their potential.

I have had 2 kids in this school. My daughter is extremely bright & well behaved. She has an an okay experience, however she has never had anyone in the school help her meet her fullest potential. My son on the other hand is equally bright, but has required more attention & has hated his experience in this school. We have raised a child with leadership traits & not the type of child to sit quietly if he feels he is being mistreated by children or staff. He is finishing the year feeling that he has been bullied by kids & staff. The staff lacks common sense and/or the resources to deal with children as individuals. Their intrepretation of policies have also made us feel as if they are pro-bully. So if your child is not a drone that will always fall in line, this may not be the right school for you.

My son is in 8th grade and has been going to Silver Trails since 6th grade. I honestly dont think his teachers care. They constantly lose his work. They mark him unexcused when I am one to call first thing in the morning when my kids are sick. The school needs a new staff or something. Not happy at all.

Let me first say that there are some really great teachers at this school, the environment is safe, and the kids are generally friendly & courteous. However, the Principal overemphasizes the school grade, to the point that EVERY student is required to take Reading & Research all 3 years. In 6th grade, this class was almost entirely FCAT prep worksheets. In 7th grade they did a research paper & read an award-winning book, but now (in the 2nd quarter) my son is back to doing boring FCAT prep worksheets. He's a level 5 reader & I really think he would have gotten a lot more out of a 2nd elective. His PE class was focused almost entirely on workouts rather than learning to play a sport he might actually be tempted to pursue outside of school. School moral is poor. There are not a lot of activities to get the kids or parents involved and excited. When there are, my son often has too much homework to attend. He does hours of homework most nights. The math department is excellent, though of course there is always homework in math. It could be a great school if they would concentrate a little more on enrichment programs and less on covering the basics for the umpteenth millionth time.

I went to Silver Trail all three years, and I can honestly say they provided a safe atmosphere, with some fun loving & caring staff members. If you are looking into this school and you are a parent, I would recommend this school. There are no fights, no out of control students, none of that. Almost all of the students remember that they are in a school and act respectfully. The teachers are very easy to come to and really try to resolve issues! I can say I had a good experience going to Silver Trail and they really prepared me for high school. I think Mr. Lewis, Ms. Tchir, & Mr. Eichenbaum are wonderful teachers that have taught me things that I feel I will use outside the classroom. Ms. Raden, & Ms. Negron are wonderful! There are some staff members that I feel the school should get rid of, but other than that it is a wonderful school! (:

My daughters first year in middle school - was very nervous but now so happy with STMS. The principle is visible, open and friendly at the school not just behind a desk. The school is beautiful and clean, involved with local and nation programs like adopting a Wing in Iraq to send supplies to. My daughters says it best... this school ROCKS!!!

I am a former student at Silver Trail, and a current student at a local Charter school. In my new school, tons of kids make fun of me, whether its the way I look, the way I act, or my opinion on general interests like music. But at Silver Trail, nobody made me feel left out in anything. My seventh grade year at Silver Trail was one of the best school years of my life! Everyone was okay with who I am and nobody judged me. I made awesome friends and had great classes (good enough to get me straight A's for the first time). If you have the choice of schools for your child, please pick STMS. I know I want to go back there instead of staying where I am now.

My daughter is continuously being harassed by a girl in school. the girl's mother is a teacher, and she things is ok to harass my child everyday. I left a message with the guidance counselor, I've spoken to her in the past and she is very nice. I hope she can rectify this problem ASAP. The girl even put water on my daughter's lunch, so she couldn't eat it!!
