I am very disappointed with my experience at Silver Palms Elementary, particularly regarding how the school staff, especially the principal, handled a concerning situation involving my child. My child consistently expressed worry and distress about how he was being treated by another student, but unfortunately, nothing was done until I personally made a call and became involved.

I found the aftercare staff to be quite rude and unhelpful, seeming unsure of how to appropriately handle certain situations. Because of these experiences, I decided to withdraw my child from the school. Since transferring to a new school, he has been much happier, his grades have improved, and he has made better friends.

It is important for schools to prioritize the well-being and safety of their students, and I hope Silver Palms Elementary will reflect on these issues to improve their response and support for students in the future.

My child loves his teachers. They all have been great throughout the years. These teachers truly care about their students. I know a staff member personally outside of the school setting that is not very fond of me and treats my child a certain way and goes on to GOSSIP personal details to their coworker. Now the coworker has a very bad attitude with my child and I since then. I feel that’s so unprofessional on their part to spread personal (embarrassing) information about a child that is no one’s business. Even if I know you personally you have no right or authority to talk about my child to anyone if it’s not warranted. Now my child refuses to participate this year in an extracurricular school activity that he was a part of the year before because that coworker is in charge of it. My child will not participate in fear of being treated a certain way. It’s really disheartening to see how a personal feeling towards someone would cause someone to cross ethical and professional boundaries, and has negatively impacted my child’s school experience. Other than these two chatty Cathys. Everyone and everything else is great.

Silver Palms Elementary is like a second home for my family and me. My oldest son went to Silver Palms during K-3rd grade, but we moved away for several years. His friendships have lasted through the years because of the kind of relationships that were fostered at Silver Palms. We have since moved back to Silver Palms Elementary, and my youngest started back in 2nd grade and was welcomed by the his teachers and class as if he were part of a family. I wish he had started here from Kindergarten. He was grown exponentially in his academics and is challenged in a positive way. He is showing emotional and scocial growth making lifelong friendships. The teachers at this school truly care about what they are doing in the lives of children and it shows in every detail. The administration stands behind their teachers and are very supportive of the students. There isn't anything I don't love about Silver Palms. It's home.

I cannot express how disappointed I am with them. My niece was a victim of their negligence. They had a broken metal net near to the slide at the playground. Her leg was lacerated . Now they regret it, but why did they allow this damage. Only if anybody would have really care about this kids. It could have happened to anyone.

This school has a family environment feel. We have a community Pembroke Pines police officer who greets and welcome the students every day. Teachers are very friendly and responsive. It does have great hidden qualities. Aftercare has improve but still room for improvement.

My daughter had an amazing experience with Mrs O'Connor for KG, and now Mrs Henning for 1st grade. Teachers are knowledgeable, caring, skilled, patient, and are fantastic with the kids and the parents. My daughter loved aftercare staff, as well (however, they need to focus more on homework of the kids), I truly love this school. I hope that Broward Public Schools leadership improves the level of their middle school ,and especially High School. Parents are feeling forced to move their kids to Charter or Private schools to keep their children at the edge of competitiveness for college/university. Please use "best practices" from top schools into our well-deserving public schools in the area, including technology and school events that involves the community participation and engagement.

My daughters attend Silver Palms and this has been a truly positive experience for them. The teachers and staff encourage children to integrate and to always aim for success. My girls really enjoy going to school, and coming from a foreign country, this has been a great experience for all of us. My special thanks go to Mrs. Stanway and Mrs. Chastain.

My daughter attends Silver Palms and she simply loves waking up every morning and going to her beloved school.
The teachers are awesome and the school environment is safe and comfortable for the kids. The before and after care programs are amazing too.

The aftercare is a mess for kindergarten and first graders. The Summer Camp is even worst Not much of adult supervision since is mainly young college students. Not organize and no calendar of events until you look at white board. For info. Parents keep your eyes open! Lots of good teachers but same way others teachers are not. The ID driver lic machine upfront for security reason sometime works and sometime it does not. This is a concern! Everyone should be identify not by just a label. Nothing is perfect but these are critical things. Several pages on their school main web page have not been updated since Dec 2010 or even back to June 2006 as the Reading Educational links for students these are all in the Student Links. There are many great educational links that the school should update this specific links. The new school year 2016-2017 is just around the corner and there is not an update list for school supplies for the upcoming new school year. These are things administration should be paying attention to. A concern parent.

Mrs. Perez has been an excellent and positive influence in our child who had a really tough start of the school year. With her caring ways and patience he's accepting his challenges and embracing them in a more positive way... THANK YOU MRS. PEREZ...

The school has been an A grade school for over 12 years plus. Sad that administration can not catch up with technology and lack of interest to update their school web site. The school is loosing children with an enrollment of 600 children. The less the enrollment the less school fund toward this school. Something to worry about. A concern parent.

I agree wholeheartedly that Silver Palms Elementary is the best school in Broward County. In fact, it is the best school in the whole world!! I know, because I teach there. Every day I see caring teachers, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, and custodians. All of us have a job to do that make our school terrific. The leadership at Silver Palms is outstanding. Our Principal, Mrs. Walker, and our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Helman, provide such a loving, warm, and caring atmosphere. You can tell immediately when you walk into Silver Palms Elementary that it is one school that stands out among the rest. It is top notch in my book!

THE BEST ELEM. SCHOOL IN BROWARD COUNTY !! The principal Mrs. Walker and Asst. Prin. Ms. Helman, are both wonderful, you see them everyday helping the kids as they go home or as they enter the school. All the teachers are excellent, my 2 kids are in this school and how I wish they can stay here until high school. The teachers are approachable and do really care for the students, they are friendly and my kids love them all. They both feel welcomed and loved in this wonderful school environment.
