The school tries hard to stay afloat: students are learning, and many staff members work incredibly hard. However, great teachers don’t seem to stay long here. The amazing English teacher left after what seemed like internal conflict. Meanwhile, despite constant complaints from parents and students, the worst teachers remain. I mean the Spanish and Media Studies teachers.
Tracy Chandler (Spanish teacher) is the most concerning. She’s unkind, inconsistent, and grades unfairly - students get F’s and I's (!!!) on well-done tests. She treats students harshly and creates a toxic environment. My daughter, an honors student, received her lowest grade from this teacher after we respectfully raised concerns. Sadly, the school continues to protect her, damaging students’ well-being and the school’s reputation.

If I could give this school negative stars I would. This is not a safe space for your child, not because of the kids but because of the administration. They treat the students poorly, and the parents even worse. If you want a place that cares for your child at all, find somewhere else. To say the school is terrible would be the biggest understatement ever. It is also filthy. A lot of fights, and a lot of tension. I would find somewhere else.

Terrible school. Multiple teachers unprofessional. No one seems to know what is going on. Teacher disrespectful to parents. A lot of tension and fights with the kids. Would stay away.

Excellent school ! My son was getting bullied in cooper city high school so i changed him to flanagan and so much progress in grades ! Flanagan gives many opportunities, great school!

This is the worst school that I ever had to attend, the staffs are assholes and that don’t understand what the students have to go through and what they struggle with, they don’t care about our health, they only want good grades from us. They’re the worst, don’t attend to that school.

In all honesty i would rate this school a 4, but just because no school is really a perfect 5. The majority of the staff are wonderful people. As a student there myself, I can reassure you that this school is a great school. You’ll find many kind teachers who actually relate to you and your struggles, and will celebrate with you your success. Teachers like Ms.Hawley, and Mr.Uchin provide a great balance between comfort and classroom responsibilities for students. Overall this school isn’t perfect and we know that, however that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a great school.

Students are sent assignments late at night when they are due the following day. Teachers do not input information in grade book in a timely manner, assignments are imputed almost when due and grades are not updated until the end of the grading period so one can not activitly monitor student performance.

Lack of Communications with parents . The building is dirty . Web site does not contain updated information and teachers do not respond to parents. Attendance office and teachers do not communicate children on school sponsored field trips are given unexcused absence .

AP teachers have been great especially for English and history, the rest not too good, the school is overcrowded, has a disconnected prison type of environment, cold buildings, dead grass dirty bathrooms, stressed out staff kids are deduced to their barcode number on their school ID, teachers are unprofessional complain to the kids about their personal problems and even about other teachers the guidance counselor and administration have no clue how the kids are doing and seem to care less and the teachers literally do not even show up for their own open houses!

The school ool is dirty and prooly maintained. The building is always nasty it looks like it has never had a good cleaning . The bathrooms are in disrepair , dirty no toilet paper, soap or hand towels. I do not know how the health department does not site this school or the administration does not inspect the building. Look up at the ceiling in the auditorium, the dirt hanging from the AC vents give you a idea that no one is cleaning or changing the filters.

HELLO GUYS PLEASE READ // Disgusting. I am so mad and disappointed that i have to attend this school. Its looks like Flanagan hasn't been cleaned in years. There is dirt and animal droppings all over the walls, staircases, and floors. (and i'm not exaggerating or joking) I don't understand how they could let a school get in such a condition. Its just shameful and i wish i could upload images so whoever is reading this could see what i mean. But despite all of that i think that Flanagan has 'some' pretty good teachers that want to prepare you for the world and see you do well. They just really, really, need to work on cleaning the school. And also guidance counselors should try more to reach out to the students and talk about, grades, colleges, GPA, etc.

As senior its sad to leave Flanagan. Amazing high school experience. Alot of class choices and ap/honors. A place where you can be yourself. Friendly staff. safe enviroment constantly patrolled. I love the sports and games at flanagan. Vending machines are life savers too But the only problem is they need more parent involvement

It is not common for a student to come on campus of the zoned school that he/she does not attend to do activates. However, it is their option and right. The administration should at least be knowledgeable & willing to have a pleasant discussion of how it could/or could not work in a given situation. Office staff did try to help and "redeem" the unpleasant operator. More value needs to be put on the first impression made to the community for the school. The grounds are well kept, students are orderly and the security staff are friendly and accommodating. I will give the school three stars because seeing beyond the first impression there seems to be a lot going on for the students. My rating is just on inquiry/customer service and office experience. It has nothing to do with the quality of education, students and teachers.

This school is an incredible abomination. I am a junior currently attending Flanagan High School. There are shoe marks on the walls, animal poop on the stairs, most of the bathrooms usually lack of soap, the bathrooms stink and have writtings all over them, and the floors are entirely covered in old, black, dried up gum. Also, the guidence couselors and other staff members of a higher position usually never make time to listen to the students' complaints or issues. Despite the dilemmas just mentioned, however, some teachers do a well job teaching and know exactly what they are doing, as i have improved my writing skills, and many students in Flanagan are very friendly.

Yes I agree, the district needs to replace a lot of the teachers in Flanagan. They do have a lot of problems and they do take it out on the kids. I'm sure that there are kids more difficult than other, that is known in every school but there are good kids that are truly responsible and successful. My daughter last year experienced in home room a teacher that literally was a psycho Ms. McAlpine. Why is she still dealing with teenagers if she can't stand them.

I hope my child is keeping up with her grades and extra activities.My child does not belong in this school. Ive been to the mall near by when i lived in Florida without Mr.Oakley .Her present address is 10370sw 24th court in Miramar. Child should be in last year of high school but due to repeated times of return back to parent .The childs home does not help my child grasp work so easily with tutor ,and without parent help.Thanks for the teachers help thus far. Ok well it's a good school but some of the teachers have alot of personal problems and take it out on the kids. A good example would Ms.cummings. With her sarcastic attitude and her smart remarks. Many students have set up meeting with her and their parents, and you would think during a meeting a teacher would greet you and your parents and say hello. But apparently this lady has no clue what proper manners are. she will give you and your parents no greeting and she will act like she has no time to listen to your problem. And lets not with how rude she is to her students. Sadly there are many teachers and staff members that treat parents and students in such a way. Other than that the school is alright

I really like Flanagan but the only problem is that some students are very rude with the teachers ad misbehave a lot but you don't expect a school to have all the students very disciplined. but still the teachers are amazing they are so helpful. love you Flanagan. :)

Flanagan High is a horrible school. The faculty and teachers there are mostly mental. This school gives a bad name to Public Schools. I've tried twice to put my daughter in a different high school but because of space I was rejected. If there's anyway your child can go to another school or private, it would definately be best. In this school you hear more the teachers having a personal issue with the student than them actually being a teacher. Definately unsatisfactory as a shool.

Whomever name is Ms DIXON who works in the office and answer the phone is RUDE, DISRESPECTUL AND A DISGRACE! I don't understand how she could represent a school or even be employed there. As a teacher, attendance assistant, office assistant whatever it may be, you suppose to set an example for the kids who attend Flanagan or any school. As well as respecting others, I'm sure there's unemployed teachers out there who would LOVE to take her place and assist in a RESPECTFUL, CARING AND KIND MANNER.

I'm a freshman at Flanagan and I honestly love it. Yes, there's rumors about fights, teachers not caring, staff being rude, etc. But, how do you know all those things are actually true? Exactly. You don't. Flanagan is an amazing school. The teachers are extremely helpful and they teacher amazingly perfect. They have THE NUMBER ONE COLOR GUARD IN THE WORLD, which I am very proud to be apart of. Overall, Flanagan is amazing, if you're thinking of going there, definitely do it. And join their color guard. The more the better. c:

In my opinion, this school does not do enough to prepare the students to enter top level colleges. Pembroke Pines is a great place to live yet the school does not reflect the community.
