I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Christ's Church Academy. This was one of the most unprofessional and uncomfortable admissions experiences I have ever had. The entire process felt misleading and careless with my families time. My son was fully qualified academically and successfully advanced through each step of the admissions process, including testing and a family interview. After leading us through multiple steps that suggested he was a strong candidate. Based on how far we progressed, I genuinely believed he had a strong chance of acceptance. Unfortunately, the final interview felt uncomfortable and disheartening. The atmosphere was cold and silent, and there were subtle comments that made my son feel judged rather than welcomed or supported. Also made subtle comments against me (the mother). Instead of engaging warmly or asking thoughtful questions, they sat in long, awkward silence and made subtle, unnecessary remarks that made my son visibly uncomfortable. It felt cold, judgmental, and poorly handled -- not at all what you would expect from an educational leader working with children. Heather Feltman (preschool) and Jodi Reeves (lower level principle) conducted the interview. The impression I got was why is your son good enough for this school. What troubled me most was how the process gave us the impression that admission was likely only to deny him at the last minute. Because we waited on their decision in good faith, we missed application deadlines for other private schools and lost those opportunities as well. As a single-parent household with just my two children, I left feeling that our family dynamic may have been unfairly evaluated. For a school that promotes Christian values, I expected more compassion, warmth, and encouragement toward children and families. Instead, the experience felt exclusionary and discouraging. I hope the administration reflects on how their admissions process impacts families and works to make it more transparent, respectful, and aligned with the Christ-centered values they are supposed to be representing.

im a student here and ive been called racial slurs, been punched, got threatened with a knife, and got pat down because I used deodorant and they thought I was vaping, they also made me shake my bra out... the head of school is the most pretentious stuck up person ive ever met. I would not go here if you dont want your child to be eating concrete and called the f slur or n word.

This school is corrupt and the staff here does things for the wrong reason. Classes are not taken seriously other than the times the school is getting graded on academics and teaching staff to maintain the idea of a “great” overall school. Kids here are mostly snobby and rude especially to the new students. As far as academics most public schools around the area offer way more options and opportunities for classes, clubs, honor societies, etc. I was a part of this school for 7 years and can honestly say it was a huge lack of education experience, especially for the tuition this place cost.

Each year I am always impressed with the amount of effort and guidance all of the teachers provide my daughter. I should note it isn't just the homeroom teacher, all of the resource teachers are equally committed to the students.

The leadership and the school is always accessible to everyone. Any questions or concerns are answered in a timely manner and I have always felt like they truly listened to my concerns.

The school has a straight forward and honest approach in dealing with learning differences. They are limited in what they can accommodate but I am familiar with several students in the school who receive accommodations.

Our family loves the open door policy with the administration. We had an issue between our son and another student that we felt needed to be brought to their attention. They listened and developed an action plan in which the issue was resolved quickly. They both work well with the students and always show their passion and love for the school.

Our family loves Christ's Church Academy! We've found that CCA offers both excellence in academics and Biblical teaching. I love that my kids will be bale to continue their education all the way through their Senior year. Building relationships with the same students they've been with in elementary.
CCA truly feels like a large family. My younger kids love that they can interact with the older kids through school activities, reading buddies, etc. my kids are always engaged in learning through projects, STEM labs, technology labs, and qualified teachers who love their job.
CCA is truly a blessing to our family and we are so thankful to find a school that puts our kids first.

The homework policy is clearly stated in the handbook and is generally followed by all the teachers. If I ever felt homework became to much or my hold had an issue with it I felt comfortable enough to bring it up to the teacher and make him/her aware and the issue would be resolved.

CCA has blessed my family beyond measure. We have formed bonds with families there, connected with teachers, and we truly believe our children are loved by teachers and staff members. CCA has been such a blessing to our family. It is exciting to know we had a village working with us as we raised our two children. Both of our children attended CCA from K-12 grade. They were given such awesome opportunities to excel in academics, athletics, and the arts. It is exciting to how a community of people can influence students in such positive ways. Our kids were supported, loved, taught, and encouraged in all areas. Their college experience has been positive academically and athletically- both play a college sport and excel in grades. Much of this is due to the foundation they received at CCA. I love that the school continues to prepare kids for college and that our alumni are making the school proud. CCA is a wonderful school and offers students relationships for a lifetime.

Our child attended the Middle School at Christ Church Academy (aka Mandarin Christian School). It was difficult at first for our child to make friends, less than a welcoming atmosphere. The school was very "clique-ish", especially with some students that were given preferential treatment based on parents involved in the school, time at school (attended since Kindergarten), donations, etc., especially when it comes to sports. During the time our child attended CCA, we are aware of more than once incident where a teacher claimed a student was cheating, in one case announcing it in front of the entire class, just to discover the teacher was mistaken, and when provided proof, wouldn't admit it a mistake was made, or even correct the grade. On more than once occasion our child, and other students, were treated rather rudely by a teacher when coming up to ask a question (so much for setting an example). The sports program was a mess and rampant with daddy-ball, even though they will claim it's not. Kids of coaches, staff, teachers, and large donors are given preference for time during games and positions, not based on effort, talent, or anything else they claimed it was. Tuition was expensive (~$11K/yr after all the added fees), and the school would continually ask for more money, at times in a somewhat deceptive or at least misleading manner. Their academics were barely on par with public middle schools (we compared with parents in our neighborhood with kids attending a public Middle School), which offer many more programs. With the exception of a couple teachers, we saw more compassion and interest in students at public schools than at CCA. We have moved our child to a public school as this has been very disappointing both for us and our child, we had hoped for so much more. Ask a lot of questions and validate the answers before considering this school. If you plan for your child to attend through 12th grade, ask about their claim of 100% "college acceptance". What they don't tell you is that for a student to receive their diploma, a college letter of acceptance must first be provided, thus ensuring their 100% college acceptance claim. Notice they don't state 100% college "entrance". About our child: Straight A student, honors classes, no behavioral issues, plays sports.

There were a couple good teachers, but unfortunately this school had a trend of hiring less qualified teachers, many which are returning students fresh out of college. One of their supposedly "best" English teachers has many years of teaching experience, until you look her up in LinkedIn and discover most of those are teaching private piano lessons. Our child used to really enjoy English and reading when starting 6th grade, since the time attending CCA's Middle School honors English, that has all changed. The Bible teacher is one of the most compassionate and passionate teachers I've ever met, our child really enjoyed her classes. CCA needs more teachers like her.

The best way to develop these types of character traits in students is to have teachers, staff, and coaches demonstrate it everyday. This is one of the primary reasons we wanted our child to attend a good Christian school, which we thought we had found in CCA. Our child had a couple good teachers that demonstrated these characteristics, especially the Bible teacher. Unfortunately, from our time there we've seen a teacher that had a significant lack of compassion towards a student who had recently lost a parent, something we didn't expect to see from a teacher, especially one that calls herself a Christian. We also saw a significant lack of integrity with a teacher and a few coaches, where they said one thing, but did another, or not able to admit a mistake even when it was proven. This created an unexpected challenge for us in having to explain these actions taken by the very people our child was looking up to. I would not consider some of these people very good role models at all, certainly not any better than in any public school, and in some cases, much worse!

This is one area where I can provide a positive comment. Whereas we felt the enforcement of their dress code was a bit too strict, they did not tolerate any misbehavior by students, especially bullying. Our child did not experience any real behavioral issues with any other students, including fighting or bullying. We know of an incident where a child was bullied, it was brought to the attention of the administration, and they addressed it immediately.

I'm not sure what "learning differences" means. If it means students who have learning disabilities or challenges, I cannot speak to that as we did not have any issues in that regard. However, I can say that friends of ours considered CCA and decided against it I think due to not having a program to address their child's learning disability, which I believe is dyslexia, but that may not be accurate. If your child has a learning disability, be sure to ask detailed questions if interested in CCA, and validate the answers with others using those programs.

On a few occasions we had met with someone at CCA in an administrative capacity, and both times we left disappointed since no real action was taken. It was apparent that the administration will assume the teacher, staff, coach, is always right and above reproach, and the student and/or parents are wrong. The school never asked for parent feedback while our child attended Middle School, nor was feedback welcomed by administration, other than to give some "lip service", but no action or change ever occurred. If you are a teacher at the school, you will likely have more than enough support. If you are a teacher, staff, or coach with a child attending the school, you and your child will be given preferential treatment over students who do not have a parent working or volunteering at the school. Thus, that may be a benefit to some, but it certainly wasn't for us.

This has changed from one year to the next, even though most of the teachers were the same for all 3 years. The school does use a web site/mobile app to track lesson plans and grades which is helpful, however, some of the the teachers were not very adept to the online tools they were using for homework. The school claims (at least verbally) that students should not have more than an hour of homework per night, and none on Wed as that is a church night, however, our experience is that was not consistent at all for one year, less of an issue for others. Bottom line, the approach could be improved with consistency by the teachers.

This school is a breath of fresh air! I love the curriculum, teachers, administrators, coaches - what a difference between public school and private - I love that my child has an opportunity to play any and try out for a new sport and play... GO PRIVATE!

My children have attended CCA for 6 years. We are very pleased with the school. The academics are challenging, there is a healthy emphasis on sports, science, and the importance of giving back to the community, and above all our children are being raised in faith. The teachers are loving towards the children and care about them individually.

I have been a part of the ministry of Christ's Church for over 20 years. I remember when this school first start and always wanted it to be the school for my child when he was born. He has been a student at CCA for the last 2 years. He loves it and we do to because of the loving staff and volunteers. All the students at CCA are like a big family with the older students helping the younger ones to learn and serve Christ.

I have been a part of CCA for the last 15 years. Both of my children attended the school and my daughter will be graduating next year from CCA. There have been numerous changes over the years, some for the better and some for the "not so good"-just like all schools go though at one point. Some comments below complain about the school being too hard but they need to realize that CCA is a college prep school which is preparing all students for college, so it is going to be academically challenging. As for the building, the school has added a "buzz in" security system, newly remodeled auditorium/sound system, and an updated kitchen which serves healthy hot meals daily. The teachers are "top notch" educators which produce well-rounded students. Many changes have taken place in administration, but this year the best is yet to come. Dr. Madison Nichols, who has taught the last 14 years at CCA, will be taking over as the leader of CCA. She is wonderful and has incredible ideas for the school. But what is best about her is that she experienced the highs and lows that the school has gone though and she won't make those mistakes again. Dr. Nichols is loved and respected by all.

We have been blessed by CCA. Our son began having some trouble with reading and the school was so quick to identify the problem, and helped us get set up with tutoring. Th classroom teacher and guidance counselor work hand in hand to ensure his success. We are so grateful! Our daughter is thriving and excelling. The fast paced environment and challenging curriculum keep her interested in school. Can't wait to see what the future will hold for my kids! Right now, I know CCA is setting them on the right path!

We love CCA! We have been members of the CCA family for over six years and every year we love it more. The administration and staff take the time to really know each student and their family. Academics are challenging and God's love is taught. Teachers do whatever it takes to help students succeed. Students have the opportunity to explore academics, arts and athletics in a safe and secure environment where every effort is acknowledged. When you walk in the doors you feel the difference at CCA. We are very happy to be a part of CCA for 5 years so far. I can't say enough about the dedication and commitment of the faculty and staff. The teachers are caring and have nurtured our child not only academically, but spiritually as well. There are many opportunities for every child to be involved: book clubs, sports teams (all the kids LOVE going to the home football games!), music (band, Jazz ensemble, choir, Orff), drama, art, many student clubs, National Honor Society, MANY service projects in the community, missions trips, etc etc etc. We LOVE that our school helps kids succeed in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, in life. There are high expectations and the curriculum is college-prep. That said, teachers offer extra help before/after class and truly want to see their students excel. I've seen it many times. There's even on-site tutoring if needed. And we love that the CCA family is just that - a family.

I am the longest standing student at MCS/CCA! I have been there through Pre-K and I am graduating this year. I could not recommend a better place to send your child. It is a great environment for everyone! The education is top of the line. The teachers work with students one on one. Thanks to them I have gotten into all the colleges that I wanted to! You cant go wrong with sending your son or daughter to this school. Take it from someone who has been there for 13 years!

Christ s Church Academy has been such a blessing to our family. Our child has attended CCA since Kindergarten and will be beginning High School next year! My .how time flies! The environment at CCA is not only loving and kind, but academically challenging. Thanks to CCA, there is no doubt in our minds that our child will be prepared academically, morally and spiritually for whatever God has planned for his life. Wow... last year Laura Bush visited Christ's Church Academy and in in a few weeks CCA will host an event with TIM TEBOW!!! Not only is the education top notch, but the enrichment my children are receiving from such highly esteemed public figures is PRICELESS. Any school can give tests and hand out grades, but I have found that CCA exposes my children (and family) to oppertunities they would otherwise never have. I have a 4th grader and a 6th grader. I find that the teachers challenge them to achieve thier best and the academics have proven to be much more challenging that I expected. I love that the Christian aspect is not "controlling", but is excellent in equipping my boys with character and integrity. The music and arts programs are awesome. My son get's to play in gets to play guitar with the worship band every Monday. I could not ask for a more well rounded experiance for my children and family.

I am a parent at CCA and I have two children who attend the school. They are currently in middle school and high school. We have been a part of the CCA team since kindergarten. I view CCA teachers, administration, students, and families as one big team. We have enjoyed every minute of our time at CCA and have loved working alongside my children's teachers as a support to wonderful programs. I thank God every day for CCA, the teachers, and the administration for the impact they have had on my children. I am also grateful for the Godly teachers and the way they love our Precious Heavenly Father, their students and their jobs. They have grown academically and spiritually to be wonderful disciples of Christ. My family has been trully BLESSED in our time at CCA

I have a son in High School who has been here since Kindergarten and will graduate from here also. Every step of the way, our family has been blessed due to the caring administration, teachers, and other families attending MCS/CCA. There have been hurdles to overcome, but without a doubt, God has always had his hands around this school and those who attend here. I have never had a conflict that wasn't able to be resolved in a loving, caring manner. It has been my policy to pray hard for direction in all circumstances. At times it's me that has to change and other times, "things" get changed. Our family has always felt loved here.

I have two children that attend CCA. This is our 9th year at the school. Our entire family is extremely involved in many areas: academics, athletics, fine arts and volunteer opportunities. I truly love the school and cannot count all of the blessings that my children have received by attending CCA. I so appreciate the fact that teachers are praying for my kids and are giving them a solid Christ centered education. And the administrators and leaders of the school are simply the best. I am so thankful for and proud of CCA!!

My children have been at this school since Kindergarten, and we love it dearly. The school has undergone a lot of change in the last year or so, but all indicators have it moving very quickly in a wonderful direction. The dedication to teaching all things with Christ at the center is stronger than ever, the programing continues to improve, and the teachers are amazing. No school is perfect, and there is always room for improvement, but God is good, all the time, at CCA.

My first grader is enjoying his second year at CCA. He continues to thrive in his school work - through the assistance of his teacher and teacher's assistant - who both work full-time in the classroom. When we were looking for a school, we were looking for a Christ-centered experience and high standards in academics. CCA has proven excellent in each area. We just enrolled our daughter for Kindergarten and can't wait to see her flourish at CCA as well. We are grateful for those who are teaching and those who are leading this school.

This school has been a part of our family for seven years now, and our children have thrived both spiritually and academically in this nurturing environment. While it is true that past administrators have been disappointing, present leadership has the school back on track, bolstering a staff of teachers who walk out their Christian faith and who are devoted to the students. We live in St. Johns County but choose to make the commute to CCA for this investment in our kids.
