Holy Spirit was a great school, before the 2024-2026 school years. Three principals in one school year was hectic! The 2025-2026 school year was probably the worst. The school system was fine until it changed. Students felt like they weren’t being involved, especially in student council. Everything was a mess, last minute planning, confusion, unnecessary work. Planning things was one of the worst experiences. The principal was confusing, didn’t really want the student’s ideas such as dances. The parents planned everything, the walls were funky looking halfway through out the year. Spent the money on useless stuff, AC did not run in multiple rooms at one point in the year. Everything was just messed up and unprofessional. Teachers dropped left and right, principal was horrible, and everything was just awful. AR did not motivate anyone to read, some teachers never taught anything, and students had to teach themselves. Would not recommend to anyone. I know you’re paying a cheap price, but find some place else.

As a former student, I made many memories through out my years. However, when it came to my final years there everything started becoming messy and unprofessional. Working with the principal, Missy Kennedy, was one of the worst experiences of my life. It made me never want to join a club ever again. She is unprofessional, and not clear with her stuff. Her attitude is a whole other story. I was so happy when I left that school. Memories 10/10 experience 0/10

This school was known as a wonderful educational experience but since the new principal Ms.Kennedy took over it has gone drastically down hill. She is extremely rude to the students and even more so to the parents. She is condescending and completely unprofessional. She lacks everything a leader is supposed to be and she is the only reason we are taking our daughter out of Holy Spirt. The diocese does absolutely nothing and is completely unreachable. Even the Pastor is unreachable if he knows you’re going to complain. This place is insanely bad for your child. I would suggest staying away from this school and every school this diocese is in charge of!

The previous principal Dr. L was great. I have heard a lot of good things about him and what he did for the school and that was the one reasons we chose this school for our child but when he retired everything went downhill from there. The staff including the teachers were great- the new principal not so great. She seems to want to change the whole school. From kids' hair accessories (can't wear non school colors), to removing all the fun stuff for the kids. Like no field trips, no All Saints party, no ceremony for Kindergarteners and so much more. It is so bad that sad to say my child is leaving at the end of this school year. We love the church so we definitely will still go to church there but I refuse to let my child grow up in an environment with a leader like that. It's so bad in there that majority of the staff are leaving. So if you know majority of the staff are leaving it's not healthy in there. Choose another school is my recommendation. Skip this one.

The principal that previous reviews speak of is no longer with the school. They brought in a wonderful, experienced principal. Looking forward to the improvements she is already making.

I have to agree with the other review. We loved this school for many years but the new principal has run it into the ground. She speaks disparagingly about the teachers and families. She lacks leadership skills. The morale and environment for my children is terrible. She wants to increase tuition while providing nothing for the students, teachers, or families.

Not only will the school be losing teachers at the end of the year, they will be losing students!!

Holy Spirit was a Blue Ribbon school in 2022. The school won this award under the leadership of a highly organized, knowledgeable principal. He had 22yrs of experience as a principal and several years experience as an assistant principal. He combined this knowledge with great inter-personal skills that resulted in a staff that went above and beyond to provide the best educational experience possible. This was proved by the great test scores on national tests and the fact that every student that wished to attend a Catholic high school was accepted. But more importantly he was a man of Christian virtue. He didn’t preach the gospel; he lived it. The students saw him pray, saw him at Church, saw him as a Eucharistic minister and observed the way he spoke and interacted with parents and teachers. He was always cheerful and respectful. He taught Christian value everyday by his actions. Parental involvement and volunteerism was ever-present at the school and parish in general.
Sadly, all of that is gone. Holy Spirit school is a shell of its former self clinging to a reputation it can never live up to. The current principal has no experience as a principal or assistant principal. Her teaching experience is also very limited with huge breaks between jobs. She has no experience of any kind running an organization of any size or being in any type of leadership position. This is reflected in her poor administrative skills and total lack of leadership. Her personal skills are best described as disdainful, dismissive, rude and abrasive. She has openly stated that she does not want feedback from parents or teachers. She has achieved these goals in record time. Teacher morale is so low that it’s rumored over half the staff will be leaving this summer. The parent’s Home School association (HSA) is officially nonfunctional. Every officer has resigned as of January 2024. The new principal claims to be Catholic but has never been seen at a Sunday service. All of these characteristics are on full display everyday for the children to see. It’s an example that should not be advertised. If you care about your child’s academic achievement and moral growth, you may want to look elsewhere.

It really depends on the teacher. Kindergarten teacher is wonderful, as are most of the other teachers we have had the last few years. But with any school there are some teachers who lack communication with parents. It is a good idea to have a syllabus available for kids and parents to see what they are learning each week to go over at home and be prepared. Or at least a letter sent home every Monday with what is going on that week

Again most of the teachers have been fantastic

Wonderful school. My children are challenged and taught values that mirror my own. A+!

I have been a parent at this school for 10 years, with one child having gone completely through and two in process. My high school aged child is doing very well in high school and was well prepared. I love the academics, the teachers, and most importantly how it is Christ centered. Truly a wonderful Catholic education.

I hated this school...The teachers never seemed to care about the students, were very rude, and very UNcatholic! It's very hard; This school made my panic and anxiety levels sky rocket...They always said that highschool had this much work...I'm in highschool now. not NEARLY as much! I remember when I was in 4th grade, I stayed up until midnight studying..thats messed up.
