Mrs. Hight and Mrs. Spoto have been an absolute blessing to our kids! We have been attending FCA for 4 years now and they have made our experience an amazing one. They care about the kids and it shows. My children look forward to school everyday and call Mrs. Hight and Mrs. Spoto their best friends. Couldn't recommend these two teachers enough.

FCA was a blessing to our family for 11 years for our children. We chose FCA for the smaller class sizes and christian setting. Our children grew right along with FCA. The teachers care about each of their students and pour into their students daily. They had the blessing of being challenged academically and spiritually in their years at Foundation Christian Academy. The school provides many athletic opportunities as well as fine arts opportunities. Both of our children discovered passions in art and theater that they likely would not have been able to have in large public schools. Both of our children graduated from FCA and they both were well prepared for college. We are grateful that we chose FCA and we are thankful for all of the teachers there that were a blessing to our children.

My son has been at FCA from 3K to now going into 5th. He has had an amazing experience year after year. The teachers are loving, kind and compassionate. Communication is top notch and I have no doubt that he is loved and watched over throughout the school day. There is enough school work done during the day that the kids are not overloaded with hours and hours of homework. The curriculum is challenging enough without the kids feeling overwhelmed. The entire staff has a strong foundation in God and that shows in their exchanges with students. We are so thankful for FCA and look forward to our daughter starting there too.

Our daughter has been attending FCA for 3 years now and is starting middle school in the fall. We were very unhappy with the public school she was in because they did not challenge her and she was bored. FCAs curriculum allowed her to be challenged and encouraged her talents in the arts. With the challenges of transitioning from elementary to middle school, we are so happy that shes making that transition at FCA. The teachers and staff are great. She has loved every teacher she has had at FCA and they were all readily available to the parents for questions, guidance, and support. In these current times, that is such an amazing blessing.

My three boys are students at FCA. I have a high schooler and two elementary students. My boys love the school! The teachers are very loving and caring. My two oldest made the principals honor roll this past year. They are learning a lot from FCAs Christian based education. We could not have asked for a better environment for our children to strive and grow both spiritually and academically. My boys were also involved in sports giving them a well rounded school experience. I highly recommend FCA.

My two children have been attending Foundation Christian School for the past two years and have both had wonderful experiences! They are surrounded by caring teachers and friends. My daughter transitioned into middle school starting FCA, which can be a difficult time for any child. Being in a smaller environment with Christ like minded friends, she has flourished. My son started FCA in second grade. His second and third grade teachers were both amazing as well. They communicated regularly and went out of their way to help my son feel loved at school!

This last year with the pandemic, life was tremendously difficult for most folks, us included. It was great to see the positive attitudes and resilience from teachers and staff. This went a long way for us.
Our teachers care deeply for our family. We felt it this year. They helped our daughter through a challenging transition that happened within our family. Showed grace, compassion, and patience. Our daughter is happy at FCA, and loves her teachers.

Many teachers do not even ha e credentials. The principal's son is teaching there and has no degree.
Posted: March 21, 2020
Definitely no compassion here. They would rather judge, abandon, and condemn than have compassion.
Posted: March 21, 2020
This school is very judgemental and condemns and abandons you in your time of need. If your family or children need extra support, don't cou t on them. They are more concerned about their reputation than having compassion for your family and your children.
Posted: March 21, 2020
Again, if your children are having any trouble, there is no help at all.
Posted: March 21, 2020
The leadership and board are the bullies at this school.
Posted: March 21, 2020
Terrible. This is not a school that demonstrates the love of Christ.

As a student of 8 years and 2014 graduate, I have nothing but great things to say about my time at FCA. The faculty and staff truly care for the safety and education of their students. The smaller class sizes give the best opportunities for each child to strive academically. I have peace knowing my children will have a phenomenal school to attend when the time comes!

My daughter has attended this school since she was 3 and we love this school. The administration has done a wonderful job creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their teachers get great balance of direction and are allowed to be creative in their own classrooms. In other words they do not teach to the test and yet cover pertinent information. The teachers care for each of the children individually and I know that trickles down from the administration. You won't find a more involved group of teachers and administration. This is an excellent school!

Foundation Christian Academy has been a blessing in my familys life. I have two children that attended FCA. They both had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities, and they loved their time at FCA. As a parent, I loved that the school had a mentor program. Each of the kids had a teacher mentor that they met with throughout the year. My oldest son, after leaving public school, really valued his relationships with the teachers. He was successful at public school; however, he longed for the teacher/student relationship. The faculty and staff invest so much time into the students. I was at the school many times and witnessed the positive relationships and positive atmosphere. Both of my children are strong leaders, and I attribute that to their education at FCA.
The school did a great job getting them ready for college. One of my children is a junior at USF in the pre-med program and was recently invited to join Phi Theta Kappa (an academic honors organization.) His plan is to be a Physicians Assistant. My other son is proudly serving our country. Most of their friends are attending the colleges of their choice.
I would definitely recommend this school.

Yes, this school has favorites, in terms of who goes to Church of Christ and who does not. HOWEVER, I would say that the small size, and Christian background makes it worth while. If favoritism is the biggest thing I have to worry about while my kids attend school, I will take it. My child knows that when he/she earned an award or recognition, it was truly EARNED, not just given to them because they were a favorite. I have met some amazing people here. I highly recommend it!

The teachers try their best, but it's hard to do this when the principals show constant hypocrisy.
Posted: August 14, 2015
FCA could be a great school, but it's horribly mismanaged. The principals have no idea what they're doing and are very unprofessional. Can't say enough wonderful things about the teachers, though. The teachers care and that's obvious. My kid had FANTASTIC teachers. His English teacher, science teacher, and history teacher really reached out to him and made him feel welcome. He came home almost every day talking about how much he loved those particular teachers.
However, when a place is mismanaged from the top like this school is, it reflects badly on campus life. The principals have blatant favoritism, among the students and the staff. They praise certain students and completely ignore others. Not exactly very Christian-like, if you ask me. If FCA's board would wake up and see that their chosen leadership is totally inadequate, this school could soar to new levels!

Curriculum is below standard. Teachers are overworked and from what I hear, underpaid. There are a few teachers who my child liked.
Posted: March 11, 2015
These people were very harsh on my children. It seems as if the staff are overworked and it shows in how they treat your child. If you and your children are total conformists, you will love this school as they are very harsh in discipline

Our only regret is that we didn't find Foundation sooner! What a blessing this school has been to our family! Our oldest has participated in several of the sports programs and we are so appreciative of the encouraging Christian coaches. Our younger son enjoys the music program and theater programs. With loving guidance, our children have developed a positive self image that had previously been damaged in a less nurturing environment. FCA has challenged our boys to excel in their academics and extra-curricular interests while building their self confidence.

My family has been a part of FCA for many years. Both of my children attended from preschool through 3rd and 6th grade when we had to move them to public school. They excelled in the local public schools both academically and socially thanks to their foundation from FCA. (Their FCAT scores were 4s and 5s and they were placed in honors and gifted programs.) After three years, they both asked to return to FCA becasue they missed the small Christian environment and close relationships between the students and teachers. We were at a point financially that we could make that happen, and we have not regretted our decision for one minute. Both kids will be in the high school this coming year and are so excited for school to begin. My family has been blessed by FCA. My children are so happy there and have made many wonderful friends. What a blessing FCA has been to my family. My children continue to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Thank you Foundation Christian Academy and High School for being such a fantastic school!

I am so pleased to have both of my boys be a part of the FCA family. My oldest son just completed his second year in the middle school program and excelled with 5 A's a B and C. He was in public school his whole school life before and never had the level of success that he has found there. His teachers listen and have the time to address individual needs and teach in a way he can grasp the information. That was never case in public school. My youngest son just completed 5th grade. He had the most impressive teacher I have ever met. She took my son who was in public school and hated every minute of it and made him like going to school each day. He is very close to his classmates and has been to several activities so far this summer with them. He never liked school until his last year at FCA. He doesn't even want to discuss join back to public school. My oldest is entering the high school program this year and didn't want to go to public school when given the choice. I am so excited to see what the next year brings. They are learning, excelling both spiritually and intellectually. I can't think of a better place for my kids. Love this school.

I want to extend a big thanks to you and all of the staff at FCA for the excellent educational foundation you provided for our boys while they attended school there. We have received their FCAT scores from their 1st year of public school ... and they were outstanding! Our 3rd grader received 5's in both of his subjects and our 5th grader received 5's in Math and Science and a 4 in Reading. I didn't realize what an accomplishment this was until speaking to other public school parents who indicated 3 ' s were the average / norm, and what most of their children received. I'm thankful the boys were able to have their 1st 4 years at FCA -- for the head start on education that FCA gave them as well as lessons in good citizenship, and the Christian basis you provided for them. The boys miss FCA and all of their friends there, but have adapted well to public school. I just wanted to share their success with you as all of you at FCA are a big part of that! Thanks!!

My wife and found the previous two posts amusing. We know the "parent" who penned those words. She posted them from different accounts to damage the reputation of the school. Our children have had a phenomenal experience at Foundation. The teachers here are SO accommodating. They care very deeply for the success of EVERY child. This is a Christ-Centered environment. We have been blessed by this school and will make whatever sacrifice we need to call both of our children Foundation Christian Academy graduates! There are no bullies here. Both of us are active volunteers. We know ALL of our children's teachers by name (and they know us by name as well). Neither of us have experienced any of the issues listed previously. God bless you for looking for a great Christian school in this area. My personal opinion is that you will not find a better one than FCA.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. This school has been the worst schooling mistake I have ever made for my child. There are so many problems with this school, all the teachers there are NOT qualified to be teaching. I couldn't believe how unprofessional this school truly is. Teachers there are very sarcastic , mock students , get angry when asked questions , bully , inattentive and do not communicate well with parents. This school claims to have a safe and christian environment , which is not a true statement. Bullying is a problem at this school, students and teachers there are both guilty of it. Staff and teachers play favorites unimaginably. Administration does not deal with these issues as they should. STAY AWAY from the middle and high school program. It never failed to disappoint me this year . It was a complete waste of my 6,500$ .

Terrible school. High school, middle school and elementary school programs are extremely unprofessional. Teachers there do not have teaching degrees , there are only hired because they are members of the church that the school is affiliated with !!! Because of this school's lack and of enrollment and smallness , they get away with these unorthodox and unprofessional issues. If you want your child to succeed DO NOT send them here.

We have been very impressed. As a family new to the area, this school was recommended by a neighbor. With 3 children, we were happy that FCA was able to meet the needs of all our children. We have loved every teacher. Staff is friendly and helpful. We plan to attend through high school.

My 2 children have attended 1st and 2nd grade, and preschool and Kindergarten (respectively) at FCA. We initially were interested in FCA because of the core Christian values and as a safe alternative to public school. As a mom with an education background, I wanted to continue homeschooling, but due to finances, could not. My expectations have been exceeded! The school worked out a great preschool schedule for my daughter last year, and the first grade teacher was excellent with my reluctant-to-write son. Now, as he finishes second grade, I am proud of the accomplishments and strides he has made. He is excited to go to school and I love that the most! My daughter has thrived in kindergarten and is looking forward to first. I am proud that she is writing and reading so well. FCA has been such a huge blessing to us!!!

Our children love FCA! We love the teachers! We love the administration! It's a financial commitment but we have made it a priority for all our children to graduate from FCHS. You can't put a price on the peace of mind that comes from having your children in such a loving environment with solid academics.

My experience with enrollment with Foundation Christian Academy was less than Excellence that they pride themselves to be. This school seemed to be the perfect fit for a child with learning disabilities with small class sizes and a cozy small environment. Our experience during the application process was very unprofessional and lasted for almost two weeks with no communication or returned emails within Administration. Unfortunately, after observing this lack of detail to our family, and zero follow through we pulled our application. To date, not one person in Administration has called to inquire why we did not complete our application process. That speaks volumes to us as parents, and displays a lack of attention to detail within their staff. This school did not seem to have any teachers on staff with a ESE background for support, nor the facilities to accommodate a child with learning disabilities. Although the experience at the time was disheartening and frustrating, it was a blessing in disguise for our family.

Our daughter attends Foundations Christian Academy in Davie, and she loves it! FCA offers a nurturing environment with a balanced academic curriculum. Its great to be able to leave our child and go to work with a peace of mind that our 3 year old daughter is in great hands, and is being cared for in a loving Christian environment.

I'm so in love with everything at FCA! Classes have always been challenging & creative & keep getting better. They have music, art, & PE. I volunteer lots & know everyone.Teachers are friendly to parents, students & each other & love their job! The principal is very involved. I see her visiting classrooms & getting to know students. She is very loving & hugs on the kids. She has a kind, Christian demeanor. I've seen her be lovingly, firm when appropriate with students & even with an obnoxious parent that was trying to bully other parents to volunteer for things she wanted & a disorganized parent that wanted to be in control. The principal cleverly restructured the PTF in a manner that allowed more parents to volunteer & have leadership roles. My kids don't play sports but I have gone to watch a few of the games. I have seen the principals, teachers, office staff & custodians at games. They cheer on the kids by name. I don't have children in middle or high school but I will next year. I've gotten to know & really like those teachers. They care about the decisions the students make outside of school & take time to get to know them & ask about their lives. My kids are happy! So am I!

My children attended this school for elementary. Overall, I have been dissatisfied with the quality of education my kids have received. The staff turnover is very high. Although the tuition is competitive with the other private schools in the area, there is a shortage of money coming in to fund extracurricular activities, supplies for the classroom, teacher salaries. The principals lack the experience and knowledge necessary to effectively run a school. They presented themselves as very unprofessional. The parent association was dismantled a few years ago by the principal. I have never heard of a school not having a parent run association before. Although this is a newer school with fewer students we were hopeful it would grow enough to allow our kids to attend middle and high school. This has not been the case. Every year a large number of students do not return. That speaks volumes about the overall satisfaction of parents. The sports programs were a huge disappointment. This school relies solely on parent volunteers to coach games during the work day. If no one volunteers for the job they will cancel. The principals and teachers never attended any of the games.
