My daughter has attended Apple Tree for 2 years and I cannot say enough good things, the principal, the staff, the teachers, the atmosphere is so nice and welcoming! My daughter was in a different school before and she cried every day upon drop off, since coming to ATM she goes in happy, loves her teacher and her friends and her school. She has learned so much! I love this school and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

My daughter went to the school when she was very young. One day when my mother went to pick her up, the principal pushed her out of the way. The front office staff is very rude and unorganized. The school is old and dated, and NOT accredited by Montessori.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Apple Tree Montessori. I have a somewhat reserved grandson who we thought could benefit from beginning preschool. We were looking for a school that would offer not only great academics but also a nurturing environment. My son researched online and was happy to find a school with such caring teachers and staff members. From the first day, we were hooked. The new owner, Ms. Elizabeth runs a magnificent program and has updated many areas of the school and has added a beautiful STEM Lab for all the students. We highly recommend Apple Tree Montessori!

The Principle seems to spend all her time figuring out how to charge for more things. Always a cash fee for something. But she won't spend any money to begin a gifted program. Has tto farm out the "gifted" kids to other schools.

My kid was getting bullied and I complained to the ineffective leadership. Her response? "Kids have to learn how to negotiate." Are you F...ing serious?

Excellent school! We are working to improve our facility and staff. Our curriculum speaks for itself and demonstrates a strong foundation and learning experience.

We have a zero tolerance for bullying. Unfortunately, bullying is an issue presented in today's society. We have a strict policy related to bullying. If a teacher, student, parent, or staff member is aware of bullying, it is brought to the administration's attention, and the situation is evaluated, discussed, and prevented. Parental cooperation is required for any potential bullying incidents.

The Montessori philosophy is that all children are unique and learn differently. Teaching and learning is different for each child; therefore, our teachers do an exceptional job in ensuring each student understands what he/she is learning. There are times where learning can be difficult, so teachers work with parents to ensure the child's education is the number one priority. We do not label children, nor do we provide other parents with information regarding student performances; therefore, other parents would not know if children have any exceptionalities. We do service children with varying exceptionalities if they have the ability to perform successfully in our program. We adhere to confidentiality in our school and expect our teachers to uphold the same standards.

We are building a strong leadership team. Our Directress and owner opened this school 40 years ago and has maintained a dynamic structure. She has hired on a Principal and Assistant Principal who are leading the school's day-to-day business. Our leadership team is evolving and continues to ensure that the quality of education, character, and safety of the students are the primary concerns.

Children are constantly thriving and learning from their mistakes. We encourage our students to have empathy for others, understand the situation as a whole, and respect each other. Discussions and reflections are our basis for building strong characters. We encourage our parents to continue building character at home as well.

All of our teachers participate in annual professional developments. All of our teachers have a bachelor's degree, and some with master's. Our preschool teachers are certified.

Homework is assigned regularly in upper elementary. All homework is a review of the days' work, studying for upcoming test(s), and/or practice skills.

I have 2 children at Apple Tree that started in pre-k and stayed through 8th grade. One is now a freshman at Auburn University and thriving in the engineering school. Her friends that also attended Apple Tree are at NYU and Yale. My other child is currently in 8th grade and is doing great. The school uses the SAT standardized test. Both children scored well above the median scores and are at a level 2 years ahead of their grade. This is a direct reflection on the school administration and the teachers. I spoke to the administration office recently at Archbishop McCarthy High School and I was told they look forward to accepting Apple Tree students as they always score high on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam.

My child had some issues but the teachers and principal do nothing about it.

Posted: October 31, 2016

I have only seen children that have no problems in this school.

Posted: October 31, 2016

The owner/principal is really bad. She is not nice to anyone.

Posted: October 31, 2016

This is a very small school it is hard to teach these qualities with so little kids.

Posted: October 31, 2016

Please check teachers credentials, the office will not tell you its top secret at this school.

This school has set my son up to fail. They give you many chances to get good grades and when my son went to High School teachers gave him what he earned on the 1st time. Apple Tree does not do well to set kids to succeed. My child told me once he had as many as 3 times to pass an assignment. Where in life do we get that many times to pass? If you want to have your child learn to succeed on the 1st time do not send your child to school at Apple Tree. The grades are unusually high! You think they are doing good with the grades but I guess with many chances they should be right. The main yearly test in the school to see where the kids are is very old and is not counted in any other schools. Its obsolete.
This school is also very small and does not help children learn to be around many kids, it will be harder for them later on. Had I known what I know now I would change things and that is why I am writing this review.

Horrible Communication from the Administrative staff and teachers. It was always hard to reach out to my child's teacher if I had any questions.

Posted: July 6, 2016

There are a lot of new teachers that are learning as they are teaching the children. Some teachers are also just moms, without proper credentials.

I had many bad experiences at Apple Tree. The principal is not a nice lady. She is older and is very bitter and mean to the kids not to mention parents. A lot of the good teachers have all left because of the principal which leaves new teachers in the school. This school is also crumbling, shabby and worn out. The education is also not what it used to be with all the new teachers. I moved my child out of Apple Tree and am very happy to have more experienced, qualified teachers educating my child.

Apple Tree teachers really are amazing. They teach my daughter so much during the day while she is with them. I am always so impressed at how much she knows compared to other her same age. The teachers are also so caring and sweet with my daughter. She loves being at school and is always wanting to stay at school.

Posted: May 10, 2016

My daughter gets minimal homework but she is learning at 1-2 grade levels ahead of her. I am so impressed at how much this school teaches during the day without sending too much homework for us parents to do. The teachers do a great job with my daughter!

Apple Tree teaches students to treat each other with respect. They also do a great job of teaching the students to be true to themselves and never to dishonor there own values. They help build each students confidence and develop into there own personalities.

Posted: January 5, 2016

I am pleasantly pleased with the commitment of the teachers at Apple Tree. They truly want the best for my children and are caring enough to keep me informed.

Posted: January 5, 2016

Homework is given as a review of the day's work. Students are not bombarded with work assignments, but are assigned meaningful tasks!

Posted: January 5, 2016

Students are well equipped through the academic curriculum and the patience and understanding of the teachers through Montessori strategies, to understand and demonstrate honesty, integrity, and fairness in a challenging society. I have yet to hear of any violence at the school, hatred among students, or other negative character traits that has been witnessed at many other schools.

This is an extrodinary school! Teachers are always warm and welcoming, students are polite and learn manners, and the overall environment makes me confident in my choice to send my children here. As a public school teacher, the curriculum at Apple Tree is by far the best I have experienced. The mix between the traditional and Montessori experiences truly create a strong foundation and prepares students for the future. I would not send my children anywhere else! Please go and visit during Open House in January! I'm glad I did a few years ago!

Apple tree is an amazing school! The education is very good. The teachers are excellent. My kids really enjoy there day at school! I love that my kids have the opportunity to attend Apple Tree!

This school is full of unqualified teachers. When I asked the owner about their qualifications, she became very defensive with me. There is lack of structure, the children are not reading above grade level, and the school is very old and not taken care of. Stick with a school that has Nationally Certified teachers. Also, security is completely lacking considering this school is located right off the highway!!!

This is a terrific school if your child is inquisitive, smart, and enjoys being with great kids. Kudos to the teachers and administration for putting the fun back into learning! The school also has great after-school clubs. Don't judge a book by its cover. Just because a school is newly constructed does not mean it is better.

Posted: August 2, 2013

Not only are the classrooms and school old, the textbooks and classroom materials are very old and outdated as well. There is no structure to the curriculum, and when you ask administration, be prepared for them to get defensive and avoid your questions. The teachers are nice, but very inexperienced.

I really love Apple Tree Montessori school. My child is in 3rd grade and we used to attend a public school and my gosh in the past year he has learned a lot more than he would have ever learned in his public school. I am floored and how much he knows just with one year at Apple Tree. He loves to go to school and has made many nice friends. Hist teachers are excellent and he has Ipad classes as well and Spanish classes. I would recommend Apple Tree.

I enjoyed my children attending Apple Tree. There teachers were lovely and really cared for them. I find my children are highly educated and you can tell by the way they speak and behave. My children adore Apple Tree and there time they spend there. The education is superior and is worth every penny. I would recommend this school.

I will not be sending my boys back this coming year. I am interested to know how the reviewer below believes her children are "at least 2 grade levels above their public school peers"? Like one of the previous reviewers I had the unfortunate experience of discovering PreKindergarten at Apple Tree did not prepare my son for Kindergarten at all. This is a FACT, not just my opinion. I decided to tour other schools for Kindergarten because Apple Tree has become very run down and I noticed that there was more "play" going on than academics. I was told by the admissions office at the private school my son will be attending that he barely passed admissions testing, but they will be able to get him caught up over the summer in a summer scholars program. At that point I decided to pull my younger son out as well.

I have both my children at ATM. They are at least 2 grade levels above their public school peers. I have been more than happy at AT. As a high school teacher, I am very picky about my children's education and believe that they are receiving the best primary education possible. In response to the preschool comments, both of my children were reading at 4. They would have been more than prepared to move to any school after preschool. My ATM first grader, who went through ATM preschool, is doing dynamic multiplication and long division. My fifth grader will be taking Spanish I for high school credit in 7th grade and Algebra I. In my opinion, ATM academics are excellent.

If you have any questions or concerns don't bother to ask anyone from the school for help because they won't do anything for you or even return your calls in a timely manner. They always excuse their actions and they're always "right". This school puts in no effort to teach your child, and as soon as you question them about it they become very defensive.

My son adores his school. He loves his teacher and feels very safe here. I really admire how much the teachers care for the kids here. The teachers are over qualified and it shows by how much the children learn here. I would recommend Apple Tree to all.

Total lack of communication and structure at this school. They discourage parent involvement. I pulled my child out in Kindergarten because I felt that the school was not providing my child with a good academic foundation. I asked for a copy of the curricuulum, but was never provided with anything substantial.

My daughter attended preschool here, and now I really regret it. It was more like daycare than school. I know that preschool is suppposed to be fun, but she was not taught anything. I did not realize the extent of it until I brought her for admissions testing for Kindergarten at several very well known private schools. They all told me that her previous school had not prepared her for Kindergarten. She made a lot of great friends at Apple Tree because she had been there since she was 3, but I am so glad she was accepted into another school despite the fact she will need to attend summer school to "catch up" and we are moving on.

I have a child in the middle school at Apple Tree and I love it here. The teachers are amazing at the school, my son loves to go to school there. He is 2 grade levels above age. The schools curriculum works with the speed of your child, if they are faster than the child can move forward to harder work and if your child is slower you can stay at there pace. Love it at Apple Tree!

Love Apple Tree Montessori! The education is by far the greatest! My children are very smart because of the school. The teachers make it fun to learn and the children have choices when learning. They teach Spanish, Computers, and PE during the school day besides the normal curriculum. The teachers are great! My kids feel at home when they go to school. Love it!

I go to school here and I love it! My classmates are my best friends! The education I have received here is great and my SAT scores show it. I love all my teachers here and they really care for us kids.

I am giving this school 5 stars based on the education my girls have received while attending the school. Both my girls started in PRE-K (AGE 3). They are now 10 and 7 (4th grade and 2nd grade). They love their school and all of the staff. It is very expensive but you get what you pay for with regards to your childs education. My only complaints are the lack of communication, the lack of parent involvement (not allowed to attend field trips, etc), and the facilities. There is little communication with the parents. They do not allow for parents to attend field trips..I was looking forward to doing this with my kids like my parents did with me. The facilities are old. They are functional and safe but very old. I have attended open houses of other schools that require parent involvement and facilities are first class. Everytime I choose to send my kids back to Apple Tree...you cannot beat the education and my kids love going to school there!!

I love the preschool here, the teachers are amazing. My child is learning so much more than she was in her last preschool. In one week I have noticed her speaking so much more and in full sentences. I love it here and hope to stay till 8th grade. I also feel very safe with my child here. Mrs. Breen the VP and Mrs. Levine the Principal are really nice and caring!

My child attens this school. Kids here do work 1 to 2 grades ahead. Great teachers. Dont bother too much about Ms. Levine. Except her everything is too good.
