In our experience, this school is little but mighty. The admin,faculty and staff truly go above and beyond to help be a part of raising the whole child. This has been our village. A community that openly communicates, shares and cares. They care for our children's spiritual, physical, mental and educational growth. When compared to other schools in the city, sure this school has a small building structure, may not have many activities and sports, but inside the small buildings walls, there's so much heart that goes into the daily operations. Today, parents may be impressed by an outward appearance of a school, but the value in preparing a child for the real world, equipping them with real skills and lessons that will last a life time is completely worth it.

We LOVE this school! My son switched from another private school, and has really enjoyed his time at Colonial. (Now my 2 other kids go there as well). There is so much thought that goes into every decision the school makes. They are super invested in security which makes me feel comfortable. The staff is very kind to both the parents and the students.

Very good. Staff takes time to challenge students and keeps me up to date on progress. Character building is very effective. Highly recommend. Good balance between academic learning and spiritual truth for life.

Pretty good School compare to others in the near surroundings. You can never take some ones review just because they had a bad experience.

The school is a great school. The curriculum is excellent and there is also a Christian foundation added into the way everything at the school is run which is #1 for me!

The staff and teachers are amazing. You can tell they truly care about the children and their success. They take the time to get to know each students strengths and weakness so they can help them to succeed not only in the classroom but in life.

They work with my son, and he does very well. It is important to my family to have a Christian foundation in his education, and this school excels in the right places. The children there seem to be well behaved, and act appropriately when I am there observing. They are held to standards of behavior, that I do not see at other public schools. My daughter is now attending, and doing very well.

Only the students who are related to a staff member or excel academically do well. 75% of the students fall behind because the curriculum is too fast paced, all over the place, and leaves no room for variation. IEP's are not allowed, to my knowledge.

Bullying and disrespectful behavior is very common in all classrooms. Not only do the children disrespect each other, they disrespect the teachers. No evidence of Christian character in many interactions.

Many teachers don't have the same credentials that public/charter school teachers have. There are several with AS Degrees or less!

My child attended this school for Pre-K and Kindergarten. We loved the Pre-K teacher and were happy to pay the outrageous tuition because she was that good. When Kindergarten started, we began to see the many problems within the school. Children in Kindergarten (5 and 6 year olds) routinely get C's, D's, and F's on their assignments and report cards. Children who get A's get "special treats" (cupcakes, stickers, etc.), while those who struggle are left behind. While the teacher is nice, she moves so incredibly fast that 75% of the class can't keep up. Bullying is rampant, even in the lower elementary. When I brought up the fact that my child was being bullied, nothing was done. The other child's parents were not contacted, the children's seats were not moved. My child had to sit next to his nemesis and be bothered constantly, while still being expected to pay perfect attention to the teacher. The lack of education among the staff is unbelievable. While many teachers do hold Bachelor's Degrees, there are several with only an Associate's. One of the high school teachers only has a high school diploma herself!!! We paid a very high amount for tuition because we assumed (stupidly, I know now) that our child would be receiving a better education in a private school than in a public school. Most of the teachers at CCS wouldn't even be able to sub in Miami-Dade County! There is no guidance staff or school counselors and very few electives for the upper grades. If your child needs extra help or an IEP, do not go to this school. They are very ill-equipped to handle any challenges and coddle the children whose parents or grandparents work at the school, even if they act horribly. On top of the high tuition, we were constantly asked to give money. Every week, a new fundraiser would begin were we would be required to donate $5, $10, or more so that our child wouldn't be "the only one left sitting in a room by himself while all of the other kids had fun." I would not recommend this school to anyone, other than for K3 and K4. Please do your research, speak to parents, and request the educational attainment of the "teachers" before you enroll.

Bullying exists from K4-12th grade. Nothing is done to stop it. If the child who is a bully is a favorite of the teacher or related in any way to a staff member, don't expect anything to be done.

This is not a real school, its a day care school! If you pay attention half of the so called teachers do not have any kind of degrees, they are coming to teach because they attend the same church and they are friends, but at the end your children are the ones loosing becauae they fall behind academically! Also, the teachers and staff children roam the school without any accountability and they will break rules left to right but all is well! Fake individuals walking with the bible in their hands, but the actions show otherwise! They used the parents until they can't get anything out you, then you are history! The so called "Principal" never comes out of her cave!
Please do not buy hot lunch, they have the older students working the lunch line without gloves, unsanitary! The school is not accredited, so forget college and it is a proven fact, that now a previous graduate 2016 from Colonial is the pre-k teacher why? Because of favoritism! Bullying is permisible! Please think twice before you make this mistake!

For those of you who are thinking of signing your child up to be at Colonial Christian School, please keep a few things in mind: The curriculum, although they may make it seem pleasing to the eye, is not up to date with any of the public schools in Miami-Dade. And on top of this, most colleges you apply for (even MDC) do not accept Colonial's credits so you may end up having to take these classes again. The teachers and staff are conflicted by their own personal lives and tend to bring that into the classroom/workplace. Now even though it is a "Christian" school, that does not mean you get to sacrifice children's education for your own personal reasons. Second, the name is misleading. The only reason they call it Christian is because they have chapel on Wednesday's. And in chapel, false witnessing has occurred between different preachers at times, on very important subjects. More than half of the time, staff does not act in accordance with the school policy that they provide for the students, let alone their own. Teachers and staff are abundant when it comes to favoritism as well. Most of the time it is when you are a child of someone in any authority of the school. Grades may be specially altered or makeups given for obsurd reasons. Students are also not provided disciplinary action as they should be. Many terrible incidences have happened and the student who caused them end up getting a lesser punishment than deserved. So that makes students and parents uneasy, especially when it's a significant breech of the rules. A name and a beautified tour of this school should not get your hopes up. There are better options of schools in Homestead. Colonial will create extra work for you and your child, plus it will cost you more. They have raised their tuition but still claim the spot of cheapest private school in Homestead. Soon they will be unaffordable. PLEASE, do not be fooled by their nice smiles and friendly voices. They will end up TRYING to make a fool out of you as a parent and your son/daughter.

the principles of God is #1 for my child education, and at ccs i found that. yes they are strict, but if you are christian you are going to be agreed with that. the curriculum is excellent. i want a school that help me teach my child not only academically but also biblical principles that are lost in this time ccs is an excellent school:)

I have had both of my children at this school for years and we love it! It has a family atmosphere, great support staff, exceptional administration. Every year, the school continue to grow and make improvements. The tuition is affordable, great teachers, and a most importantly, a Christ centered safe and educational atmosphere.

I go to this school and I think this is the WORST school I have ever been to in my LIFE. SOUTH DADE MIDDLE SCHOOL WAS A LOT BETTER! AND THAT SCHOOL IS ACADEMICALLY STRUGGLING. I won't mention my grade because I would probably get expelled for voicing my opinion. This school will get you in trouble over ANYTHING. FOR THE STUDENTS: WE HATE YOUR RULES CCS. I'm not being the average student saying I hate school, but this school is just terrible. I wish I was never put in it. I have been suspended, detentions, almost expelled. They are too uptight on their rules and the staff show A LOT of FAVORITISM! some get in trouble more severe than others. Favoritism. Also if they take your phone away they will not give you a warning they will just take it and confiscate it until the end of the year sometimes. The principle is pretty nice, but the staff are just ridiculous. We do not like your rules principle, we do not like the way the un-liked students are treated by the staff principal. One time the science teacher even stole from me and gave to her favorite student when I was sharing with her. I kept quiet though. Even if I told someone they will not do anything. The school is very unjust.

I am a concerned parent listening to my child complaints concerning this school on a daily bases I have picked up my child from this school on several times in tears.Furthermore, when you go out to the school with any complaints or concerns they are ignored and push to the side. I have ask for several meeting with the principle and other staff and never gotten any assistance.Relocated to a new area and having to fit in is already challenge for a student. Furthermore, being verbal abuse and not accepted by the teachers and other peers is even harder.Colon Christian School dose not treat the parents with respect or the students.I thought maybe it was because I receive stepforstudent funding or even because I am black.However, that s not the case this school is just a school in it for the money and not for the wellbeing of the students.I don t feel this school holes a standard for providing a higher education.The public schools offer a much better education.This school is considered a free bird course for parents and student to get by on bear minimum education.In closing favoritism is a huge issue and respect for the students and parents is also an issue.

Clearly, many people have tried to camouflage Colonials problems by writing exaggerated reviews about it & giving 5 out of 5 ratings. Students (who daily experience what CCS is like) should start writing some reviews, not the parents. Favoritism is a huge issue in this school, unfortunately. Many of us are treated with less respect than those whose family members have graduated there or own a business. Many students are looked down upon if not in a high financial standing. When greeting a staff member, you rarely get a smile back if your parents have a late payment. The money isn't even worth the education we're receiving. You might as well send your child to a public/magnet/charter school, where education (and sports) is at a much higher level. Drama & verbal abuse also abounds. The sad part is that teachers take no part in trying to stop it, & very often go along with the rude jokes/comments. Colonial doesn't have a friendly family-like atmosphere anymore. The hypocritical people in this school push you away from Christianity rather than towards it.

Both of our children are at Colonial and we could not be happier. There is a geniune caring for the children and the academics CAN'T BE BEAT! The children, especially at the elementary school level, are very advanced.
