On the outside, Palmer looks like a great school, but once you are enrolled and you attend the school, you realize that the other students are very disrespectful to each other, and bullying was a constant occurrence while I was at Palmer. Most of the teachers couldn't care less about what they are teaching or are too strict on their students, having a standard that is impossible to reach. While I was at Palmer, Mrs. Mayer was my tutor, and she was very passionate about the subjects she was teaching me. She cared and helped until you understood. On multiple occasions, I recall Mrs. Mayer teaching me the material I was supposed to be learning from my teachers. The principal was very unfair on one occasion. I remember a girl lying about another girl to the principal because she did not want her to be on the cheer team with her. The girl who lied to the principal got rewarded by becoming cheer captain for lying, and the girl she lied about got kicked off the cheer team and received a demerit. She later got bullied out of the school by the same girl who lied about her to the principal. The gym ceiling leaked the entire time I was at this school, and made it so we could not use half of the gym for years.

Love Palmer. The patents and families are so involved. I do wish they would work on the class sizes. They need to be smaller with a smaller teacher student ratio. But even so, they do a fantastic job and it is a nurturing environment.

This school is really amazing but..only Mrs. Mayer and Mr. Printy and Mrs. Gillen actually believe you in things the other teacher really dont care too much about other things and the dress code is super super strict. But in my opinion I really do recommend this school the support staff and principal especially are some of the nicest people Ive ever met but all I wish is that more Middle School teachers would listen to the FULL story of situations. But please especially Mrs. Mayer and Mr. Printy GIVE EM A RAISE!

This school does nothing to help students. They believe any lie that comes across. Every teacher besides Mrs. Gillen and Mrs. Mayer need to go back to school and learn how to teach. This school is a train reck waiting to happen if it hasn't already.

My son was Bullied from the 2nd week of school... I brought the matter to the Principal over and over again....she did nothing significant to end the problem... My son was scared/bruised/and punched in the face. When your children beg you nightly and in the morning not to go to Palmer Catholic Acadamy realize there is more to it then they just don't want to go. I regret not acting faster and removing my son since the bully was allowed to stay.
In Feb the principal and teacher both told me my son was not ready to move on to the 2nd grade... Now this was Feb school opens up in Aug... There was plenty of time for this school to help give me assistance with a tutor or something but instead they gave me nothing. We pulled my son out in April for the whole family to move to SC for a job transfer..... We were going to wait out till then end of the school year.... But due to another incident with the same bully and the Principal not removing the child... We felt it was best to just move early.
My son took many weeks to stop talking about what the bully did to him but now seems to be settling in. The school here in Fort Mill, SC engaged the problem right away and is working with us to set up tutors so we can get back on track and advance to second grade. It has truly been refreshing to see an organization not kick the can down the road, but identify and work with us on a solution.
As for Palmer - I would think twice before sending your children there. They tout thamselves as against bullying - but when faced with the issue nothing was done. As a result we spent $6k + for our son to have a terrible experience. Once we pulled our son from Palmer there was radio silence. No follow up from the school and we even took it a step further and approached the diocese. They could not get off the phone fast enough. Seems to be case with the Catholics church. Let's not address the issues - but run from them or sweep them aside.
We will continue to broadcast this across as many social media outlets as possible because with the great reputation of public schools in the St John's County area - we made a mistake selecting Palmer Catholic Acedemy to educate our child.
Finally - we just want to bring awareness as the school refused to take responsibility and we do not what this to happen to any other families.

I really don't like the school that much. I am an actual student there, And I want to see friends & at least have a little free time but they don't like that it seems like. It seems like all they do is be strict over your Uniforms, Makeup, And jewelry! There very into you being plain, Like your shoes have to be plain! As well as your uniform. They give you Gym Uniforms also. They don't like hair in your face or anything. They have such a list of what they don't like. And it's so religious!! Every time you leave a classroom you have to pray and sometimes I just really need to get going. But they don't understand, They get mad! I'm personally scared because I always get nervous in class. I'd say if they calm down on rules and give us some social time then yeah it's good.

This school is amazing. The principal is incredible and runs a tight ship with a loving hand. She is very active with the children and knows every student's strength's. If they have a weakness that will need help with she is creative and thinks outside the box to make sure that student has the tools and support they need to be the most successful student they can be. The office staff is amazing! They are all kind, loving and hardworking. We have been at the school for 7 years and we love it! We have moved across country and have been some of the top schools in other areas and I feel like this is the best schools we have attended.
