I had two child attend here. The school was great, but the teachers and faculty did not do a lot to support non-intact moher/father families. There was also multiple faculty, especially the gifted classes, that seemed to be biased towards those who supported the school financially for a long period of time. My daughter read at the 12th grade level in 3rd grade, but wasn't "selected" for the gifted program, although, half the class was in the program, so that the days when they went to extra classes made the non-gifted feel our of place.

We are now in our second year at Freedom 7 Elementary, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we joined the school community, we felt welcomed and supported. The principal is truly one of a kind—so kind, approachable, and dedicated to creating a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students and families.

The entire school is consistently clean, well-maintained, and feels like a safe haven for learning and growth. The atmosphere is full of love and encouragement, and it’s clear that every staff member genuinely cares about the children.

The teachers across all grades are outstanding—passionate, patient, and truly invested in each child’s success. Communication with the school is excellent; we always feel informed and heard, and any questions or concerns are addressed with care and promptness.

A special mention to the SRO, who is not only professional and reassuring, but also incredibly kind and cool! My child always feels safe and supported, and that peace of mind as a parent is priceless.

Freedom 7 is more than just a school—it’s a community. We are so grateful to be part of it and look forward to many more wonderful years here.

Freedom 7 Elementary School has been a wonderful experience for our kindergartener. The sense of community is truly special, with welcoming staff and teachers who go above and beyond to make every child feel valued and supported. The nurturing and comforting classrooms are designed to engage and inspire curiosity. Safety is a top priority, and the campus is secure, providing us with peace of mind. The collaborative environment among families, teachers, and staff creates a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. We are grateful for the positive impact Freedom 7 has had on our child's early education journey.

This is my child’s second year at Freedom 7. We love the school, we love the teachers. The school is beyond all that we could ask for and more. Our little one is learning about the community around us, she is learning about applying her learning to different aspects of her life.

We talk about the profiles that she is learning at school, and she always tells me to be caring and kind to others. By being a good Communicator is the way to get your way instead of arguing with a friend.

We have no negatives to add at all. We love this community and the parent volunteers are out of this world!

We love the administration team. We are sad to see Dr. Haddock leave, but excited to get to know Mrs. De Leon. We cannot wait for this new year to start!

Freedom 7 fosters young minds to be engaged in and inquire about the world around them. They are internationally minded students who practice the traits of many attributes, including open-mindedness and tolerance. Teachers instruct through the lens of the Primary Years Programme, which continues throughout all classes and grade levels. Students are given agency to decide what they want to learn about and how, all guided by the teachers to make connections back to state standards. It is a wonderful school full of caring staff.

Serious bullying issues, racial/religious discrimination that gets overlooked by administration. Lost many of the good admins and teachers over the last few years

We just moved to the area and were very fortunate to get seats for both our daughters. They had half a semester at our assigned school and they were lackluster, seemed like the staff was just going through the motions, the girls weren't excited to learn. I can't say enough about this school, the pure passion the entire staff has for educating your children is phenomenal! It's not all cheerleading, hearts and flowers either. If your child starts to slip the teachers reach out to you right away, together you come up with a plan to get them back on track. The enthusiasm the staff has rubs off on your children,..they become very excited to learn and excel. If you can get a slot at Freedom 7 I highly recommend it.

There are several programs/awards such as Amazing Ambassadors & Action Ambassadors throughout the year that are given to children who exhibit kindness towards others & who respect their classmates, etc.

The principal at Freedom 7 is awe inspiring. Truly. As a parent looking in, I can see rational thought behind nearly every single decision made at this school. And this woman cares about kids & education more than anything else. It seems obvious for a school principal but it isn’t always that way. Mrs Zimmerman cares about the students well-being & wants every single one to succeed. What more can a parent want from a school?

Freedom 7 very much respects kids that need extra engagement and/or extra assignments. They’re very understanding of behavioral problems that result from boredom in the classroom & theyll work to fix it (extra worksheets, allowing standing while learning, etc.). I’m not sure if they’d be so accommodating to learning disabled children, but I think you know what you’re getting into when you go to Freedom 7.

Freedom 7 has severs policies in place that help to foster a sense of genuine caring for peers in all its students. They really push the older children to mentor & help the youngest grades (6th graders escort the K5 kids to class daily), reading buddy program, etc. It creates a sense of belonging & squashes all bullying without any “discipline”. It’s really phenomenal. My son was at a local catholic school until he could get into F7 & it was really amazing to see the difference. We had a couple bullying situations happening in after care there & that schools solution was to separate the higher & younger grades even more which exacerbates the issue. It’s the encouragement of building relationships between the oldest & youngest students that prevents those situations from ever happening at Freedom 7.

I feel extremely blessed to be able to send my children to Freedom 7. This school is amazing & they have fantastic leadership. Mrs. Zimmerman knows what she’s doing & the entire school runs like a well-oiled machine thanks to her. Before we came to Freedom 7 the admin didn’t give me a warm fuzzy & there were some parents who said negative things about it so I was a little concerned. I shouldn’t have been! It’s been the best thing that’s EVER happened to my family. It’s almost hard to believe we have such a wonderful elementary school (for free no less!) right here in Cocoa Beach. The parents are ALL involved, which as a working parent is a major relief to me. There are some days I simply can’t be there to help but I know there will be tons of other parents there to assist so I don’t have to be concerned. The only downside I can see to the school is that there is quite a bit of turnover due to the extraneous work on the teachers. They don’t get paid extra for all the added work they due to maintain IB certs, attend “required” fundraisers, and all the other administrative work that comes with being a Freedom 7 teacher. So some teachers naturally don’t stay long. I just wish the district would pay these teachers the extra they deserve for the supplemental work.

Very happy and blessed to be part of the Freedom 7 family for 7 years now and still going! There is so much more offered at Freedom 7 to enrich the students learning. Yes, it is harder than other elementary schools but the main difference is all/most of the parents are taking an active role in their students education. This is the key to higher test scores and overall the students are all learning to be independent thinkers. Very cool. Highly recommend!

My youngest son was in Freedom 7. It may a great school for first born children, but not for my youngest. The environment was very stressful. Communication with principal was difficult for me. Then 5th grade teacher decided that homework is an option: if the work was not good quality enough, then the child could CHOSE to bring it home and do it at home. Perhaps that would have been well with my older two children, but for my gifted but emotionally immature 11 year old, it was hell. I moved him out of Freedom 7, put him in Tropical Elementary and he is doing much better, relaxed and enjoying school. It is better to have a more relaxed feel in the younger grades and then crank the heat up for middle school and high school. I was afraid of leaving my sensitive child in this very rigid school would turn him off of education. There is no space for the child that does not fit in a strict environment.

Initially we were very excited to be drawn to attend Freedom 7 Elementary. They have a great reputation and our first year (K) was great. The next year was also pretty good. But then things started going downhill. Now, after 4 years, we are really seeing their true colors. Their reputation? That's ALL they care about! Heaven forbid you have a child that isn't a super-achiever, because that's all they really want. They refuse to help but simply say that "I'm sure your child would do fine at a regular school." The pressure they put on students, parents, and teachers is way over the top. My excitement has turned to frustration and resentment. If your kid is a straight A student, you'll be fine. If not, good luck, because they don't care about the kid, they care about the school ranking.

Absolutely the best school, and it is free! My children all attended private Catholic schools in the area, then transferred to Freedom 7. We were so glad to have made the switch. The quality of teachers and education is amazing, and I love the uniforms. I wish I had this type of education available to me - for free! This is a free private school, with better academics. My children have learned more about moral character then they did in the Catholic school.

We have been at Freedom 7 for seven years and overall it is hit or miss. Some years we have had great teachers/experience and other years really poor. Many of the great teachers are no longer at the school and there has been high turnover in staff. The principal seems more concerned about schools ranking than what is actually going on at the school in the classrooms. She has allowed some very sub par teachers to stay and teach that should not be there. I will say the 5th and 6th grade teachers are excellent and the IB Exhibition Presentation the final year is very impressive. This all because of the 6th grade teachers, students, and parents. The administration is not helpful when families have concerns and they will not allow students to change class if a problem arises. I am considering pulling one of my children out this year however there are not very many other good options in the area. School touts it's technology/science program but most computers in classrooms and computer lab do not work. Teachers get little support from administration and many teachers spend all day on their computers handling administrative issues rather than teaching!!!
