Our daughter just completed 6th grade at Falcon Cove, and overall, it has been a very positive experience. She genuinely enjoys going to school every day, which says a lot.

Falcon Cove is a large middle school, so the transition from elementary school can take some time for students and families to adjust to. However, the school is well organized and communicates clearly and consistently with both students and parents. The PTSA is active and provides valuable support to the school community.

As with any large school, teacher engagement varies, but the core academic teachers have been strong and committed to student success. Special recognition goes to Mr. Rizq (Math) and Mr. Miller (Drama), who maintained high expectations while keeping students motivated, engaged, and excited about learning.

We appreciate the opportunities, structure, and supportive environment Falcon Cove has provided during this important transition year.

We are currently in the enrollment phase & our child has not yet started at Falcon Cove, so I cannot comment on academics or classroom experience at this time. However, I wanted to share how supportive and professional the staff have been during enrollment today. The Registrar and the ESE specialist were absolutely amazing very jolly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They were patient, clear, and truly supportive in guiding us through the process. As a parent navigating school placement, especially with special education considerations, their guidance & positive attitude made a big difference and are genuinely appreciated.

Im disgusted in how they handle situations/conflicts at this school. This is one of those schools that brushes off student issues especially bullying, mental health etc. My niece went to this school and she came out crying almost everyday. The lack of discipline and care for these students should be reviewed by the board. It's crowded and they don't get nearly enough time to travel towards busy long hallways. Some teachers have the kindest soul and make school enjoyable but some are unreasonable strict. Just like any other school the students are disrespectful and often are doing substances in the bathrooms. The school disregards the fact that mental illness is a spectrum and only gives care to those who are on the severe side of the spectrum instead of also paying attention to the borderlines before they go to extremes. Not to mention they have rules and restriction but don't enforce them. The sixths grade counselors and staff members were some of the best at this school but that fades throughout seventh and eighth grade. The way they treat these kids is disgusting and disrespectful. I can't wrap my head around this school because how could they be so cruel and cold towards children and say "that's how the real world works". For a public school I would suggest choosing a different one especially if your child suffers with a mental illness or bullying.

I graduated from Falcon Cove Middle School in 2023. Overall, the campus is huge with 3 buildings and incredibly nice. Although it could do a little better with the sanitation. The teachers are extremely kind and are willing to offer a great education for kids. Everything about the school is awesome and I'd love to attend again. The learning system, the environment, etc. But the reason why I rated 4 stars is because of the kids. The kids there are actually pretty devastating. Their behavior is extremely disturbing, and it was the only reason I didn't like going to school. Also, one more thing that can be fixed with the learning system. As a previous student at Falcon Cove, some teachers give more homework than in general. Especially during for the weekends, which was made for a break for students. But overall, I was pretty satisfied with my experience at Falcon Cove, especially 8th grade. I would definitely recommend this school to others.

This has been a great experience for my two daughters. They love their school, they do sports such as soccer, basketball, flag football, track. There are so many choices of elective courses and extracurricular activities They have thrived at Falcon Cove, They are enrolled in the Cambridge courses and are doing great!
We have not have any incident or problem of any kind at this school. They are now in 8th grade and looking forward to go to Cypress Bay High School. I feel they are well prepare for the next level.
Thank you to the Principal, Staff, Teachers and Coaches. You have been the best!

Bullying can also come from teachers. I had to call a teacher’s attention once for an action that was completely inappropriate.

Children are overloaded with homework from the main four classes (sometimes it makes you question what teachers spend time on during the class time, if a significant portion of the learning happens at home). I think this is ineffective because it turns kids into homework production robots (not caring about learning or enjoying the actual subjects), and parents into substitute teachers and when parents are incapable of providing guidance, the child gets all anxious for the lack of understanding.

Some teachers are very effective (like the GEM 6 Math teacher), but some others aren’t. The ones that aren’t effective leave extensive homework that don’t seem to make any difference in the child’s learning progress. Ineffective teachers are so impersonal that the child doesn’t receive meaningful feedback on how to improve in the areas of difficulty.

I think children spend too much time focussing on academic stuff (individually and as a group) to smell the roses, get to know, embrace and enjoy one another. Without meaningful unstructured interaction among themselves, I doubt they are building the social skills that will allow them to really know what compassion, respect and integrity are. A field trip to a shelter is not enough to learn about compassion (if you get what I mean).

The schools is well managed from an administrative standpoint (very organized in every single aspect, the variety of electives is superior, safety oriented, clean, with multiple extracurricular activities to expand the horizons of any child. The principal behind it left this year.

I like the school, my daughter loves it, and we bought a house in the area just to get her into this school so we are invested in it. However, I would like to see the school creating more spaces for kids to be kids and maintain the focus on academics without overwhelming kids with homework. Just because they hand in something doesn’t mean they understood the topic.

not really. in my case principal throws the ball to vice principal. vice principal does not follow up or gets involve in issues with teachers just reads and no comment on emails. I notice many leaders are afraid of teachers on schools.

It is a good school with potential but I hope the bad teachers leave or grow up and understand that feedback is to be taken for self review. Gossip between teachers and picking on students is a no no. Communications between parents and teachers/leadership must be confidential.

What leadership? Two buses run out of gas on the first day of school and the kids at on the side of Post Rd for 44 minutes in the hot bus in the FL heat and the school was empty! Entire staff left only the cleaning lady was there. Called the district transportation office and they’re were also aware. Finally tracked my kids and picked them up off the side of a very dangerous road. School never sent a message that bus was late or having trouble. Zero communication from this school, kids are just a number and they clearly don’t care. School is massively overcrowded.

Just awful. Lived in Weston bc this is supposed to be the “good” school, what a joke. In 14 world wide moves with 3 kids and numerous schools, I am beyond sick we chose to live here and send my kids here. Thankful it’s not permanent and only temporary. Worst ever!

Fantastic school but BE WARNED: You will be putting a tutor or tutoring institution on your payroll. Parents notoriously misuse tutoring resources to advance their children especially in Gifted and GEM classes. This unnecessary tutoring throws off the grading curve and causes high levels of stress in students because of the unfair advantage those students have on the first day of school. Students who have always been high achievers end up with anxiety and complexes because they cannot realistically attain the same scores as those students who have been tutored over the summer and throughout the year. Some students begin tutoring for these classes as soon as the school year ends so they can be ahead of everyone else.

Basically your smart kid will be competing against kids whose parents have them on academic steroids.

There is no efficency in the work given. The work is repetitive, like in a manufacturer. I guess that’s what the school system is preparing them for. The math assignments done in the computer have to be handwritten also. If they don’t turn in the handwritten the students get 2 zeros. If they turn it in 1 day late they still get 2 zeros (even if the computer work has perfect score). And the teacher tells the students “the grade is not important is what you learn”.

Not all of them. The repetitive handwritten work ; History - they give work in class and then a project to turn in with the exact questions, just to have an additional grade for the quarter. That is not efficient. Giving the project in class is more fun, history class tends to be a bit boring for students.

Besides the repetitive work (like in manufacturers) especially math and history, school is good. But don’t count on having your kids in sports or music lessons and have straight A’s. You have to decide what are you going to sacrifice, even if your kid has a an IQ of 140 and is extraordinary at a sport or instrument. One of them is going to fall behind.

The school gives too much homework and grading is tougher than necessary. Given so many different sources of class information it is often difficult to figure out where the homework is listed or when it's due.

This school is HUGE, and the behavior of the students is terrible! The amount of foul language, inappropriate behavior, and students' complete lack of attention to academics is overwhelming! There's no communication whatsoever between parents and teachers. The administration does not communicate with the parents regarding serious issues going on in the school. It is very concerning to me that the school makes no attempt to relay information pertaining to what's going on at school or off campus. Overall, very disappointed with our experience and concerned about future generations!!!

My daughter is in 6th grade. Only child. I have to say that she adjusted very good considering we recently moved from miami-dade county to weston. The school is doing its best to accomodate a lot of children so 6th graders get their own space in their portables. Yes, it is nasty sometimes but they are kids and it is good to toughen up a little bit. Yes, the teachers make up their own way of communication and websites. However, i feel this is a great exercise for kids to also grow up and start from this age to be organized and plan ahead. I think it is great the fact they have little homework so they can enjoy after school activities. My daughter is picking up again a book to read which she used to hate coming from miami-dade which sucks. The school staff, teachers and pta are super polite, easy to talk to and very accesible. We are super happy to be part of this school and community.

Total chaos! For the 6th graders is terrible. Teachers ask for poor kids to be more organized than most adults can be, when they themselves have no idea how to be organized. Every teacher has their own style of website and most of them have just thrown around information for parents and kids to spend hours dis-ciphering what in the world they want and when they want it. Also, the schedule is awful. Starting school at 9:35 is just not right. When my daughter gets home at @ 4:30 PM she is already exhausted and not able to focus on her homework. I have to say that I am pretty disappointed in this school.

This school is TERRIBLE! none of the teachers help you with anything, and I hate how it's portable. Where I came from, they don't have portable schools. Falcon Cove makes the sixth graders suffer in the extreme heat, going from class to class with their 10-11 pound backpack. In my opinion, DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! or any other school in Florida.

Our child started at Falcon this year. We are impressed with the high quality of challenging academic programs, especially GEM math. I went to good private schools and feel that the quality of this public school is comparable. Also, this big school feels small because of a great sense of community. However, the amount of homework in advanced classes has been overwhelming for the whole family, with about three hours a day including weekends (6 periods x 30 minutes = 3 hours). Some parents who share this concern have improved this situation with alternatives such as virtual school or adjusting the level of some classes.

This is the best public school if not the best school in the Southern (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton etc.) Florida area for advance students in both athletics, and the main curricular subjects. To start this off, I will say I am not even a student that attended here. But, I have some proof. The Falcon Cove Soccer Team (personal experience) is the finest in the surrounding area. They have won the county championship 10+ times out of 15 times. If you have a child who plays select or travel soccer, they will benefit here. Also, Falcon Cove's math program is fabulous. I participated in various math competitions last year, and Falcon Cove was always in the top 5, if not the top 3, schools. Also, Falcon Cove had a enormous amount of students who made Duke TIP last year. It was one after another after another. If you don't know what Duke TIP is, it is where 7th graders take the SAT/ACT and score better or equal to most high school seniors. To have THE finest soccer program and an exceptional education based on the success of the school in various programs/competitions, it is a wonder this is a public school.

My husband is a government employee so we have moved around plenty and this is by far our worst school experience ever! My son has a 504 and the teachers have said he is just lazy and will not follow a 504. The principal does not respond to any emails or telephone calls and there is no accountability for what happens in the school. This is your school if you have a mainstream child or one with sever deficits but otherwise, they will just fall through the cracks.

I'm afraid Falcon Cove is going the way of many schools in Broward - down. Two of my children graduated from Falcon and I have a child in 6th grade now. Unfortunately, my child's teachers are not very good. My child is in advanced classes, yet the classwork and homework could be completed by a 4th grader. One of my child's teachers is NEVER at school. I'm hoping it gets better next year or we will be looking for an alternative.
