It is a great school. that school they teched me how to read in English. but the nunber 1 problem in the school is that middle schoolers 7th grade 8th grade and even 6th grade they are hot boxing if you dont't undestand what that means is that kids are vaping in the Bathroom but is not a vape is somenthing else is mar1gu4na and teachers now is happening and the people that sell them the vapes are higth schoolers in jc bermudez. problem nunber 2 middle schoolers are Fighthing in the Bathroom every day is a fight and they call it slapbox you have to hit your opponet in the face. I am in the school I am a student. but still is a grate school.

I attended EBT for most of my middle school years. My time in this school was extremely great! I recommend this school. Lovely teachers and staff, the learning environment was amazing in my experience. Being in advanced classes was very helpful and opened the doors for good opportunities.

As a former student of 2 years, I was able to evaluate this school's atmosphere and analyze the environment. The Upper Academy teachers were incredibly helpful and they were always ready for my questions. Their joyfulness and encouragement made quite the impact in my overall experience. The amount of homework was appropriate and the assignments prepared us for higher level learning in high school. While being here I felt extremely safe and I never witnessed/heard of any fights. The staff and administration were friendly and supportive. I'm very grateful for my time here. I would even say this is the best public k-8 school in Doral, I completely recommend giving this school a chance.

My son has been the for 6 years, and I have had a good experience so far. Most of the teachers that we have interacted with have been good. My son is in the gifted program which is one of the best programs that school offers. The atmosphere is conducive to learning, and I will miss EBT as my son moves on to the technology program at Doral Academy.

They are not helpful at all.
And when you offer any suggestions, they look at you like "How dare you" "You are cutting into our gossiping time"

Posted: May 28, 2015

I've realized that the teachers expect the Parents to do the work for them.
The amount of homework given to these poor children is ridiculous!
A child does not have enough time to be a child anymore.

Posted: May 28, 2015

Definitely not fairness.
Especially when the teachers blatenly shout out "This is my favorite Student" when handing out awards.
Making other students feel bad.

Favoritism is obvious at this school.

Posted: May 28, 2015

Beware!!!! If you care about your children DO NOT send them to EBT.
3 Words: Incompetant, Inconsiderate and Pretentious.
I should have pulled mine out after my first Parent Teacher conference, when I was told by the 1st grade teachers that My child should speak SPANISH especially living in Florida...Maybe she should have been more specific and said "Doral"
(This is coming from a teacher who barely speaks English..I had a hard time understanding her thick accent, can you imagine how much harder it is for children?). Either way, last time I checked, I believe Florida is still part of the United States of AMERICA!
English is a bit more important lady!
Sure having a second language is great, but don't hold it against my child. (Which is exactly what they did).
Another thing they do is lock all the bathrooms, and tell children to "Hold it" my child came home this week running to the bathroom and told me "Mommy I thought I was going to pass out, my tummy hurts and I feel nauseous."
(That did it for me! I will be getting a hold of the Dean and board of directors...I'm not done with this school yet!)
Another horrific part of this school is some of
the Security Staff who only speak Spanish.
They talk/yell at not only children but parents like they are all delinquents.
They are not helpful at all..Very unorganized and uneducated.
It seems like Gossiping is on their priority list.

I'm sure not all teachers are bad at this school.
But the 1st grade teachers we had were not the best.
Lacked education, compassion and overall I think they just don't understand the concept of what a teacher should be.

We will NOT be returning to EBT.

The school is very clean , organize and safe for students. They have lots of extracurricular activities wich is good. However, the school is very much academic achievement oriented, and that puts a lot of pressure on the kids, I have come to the realization that if your kid is below average in academics , he or she will usually be left behind, and some teachers, not all, could be really mean about this. The administration is very shut down when it comes to helping with parent-teachers-kids problems, usually they side with the teachers , and parents feel they are not heard. I have to say they also have very good teachers. Good luck getting one, if you do your kid will have a wonderful experience, in the other hand if you don't be prepare to have a hard time! Recently, the most significant problem I' have encountered has been with spanish teachers in specifc Mr Garcia, he yells a lot to the kids, and is rude and mean to them, so much so that the kids are afraid of him,and this in elementary!

Muy regular es normal para ellos que una ni a de 8 a os se baje en una parada del bus incorrecta, y la excusa es que es gratis el servicio del bus y no tenemos derecho de dar quejas

This is my son's second year at EBT. He started first grade today. I must say that his Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Valdes and Mrs. Leon, were wonderful. He learned so much in their class. I really have nothing bad to say about EBT. I hope this year is as great as last year.

I have a mixed opinion about this school. My daughter was in 2nd grade-gifted and had a great year. Her teacher Ms. Davila is a wonderful, caring, and dedicated teacher. My daughter felt motivated to make her proud. On the other hand, my son who turned 6 this year had a very difficult year. His kindergarten teacher was inpatient and uncaring. He was in detention almost every other week for 1.5 hrs. I met almost every other week with teacher attempting to figure out how to help my son succeed in her class. My son continuously complained that his teacher screamed at him, he stated she didn't like him; he did not receive positive reinforcement from this teacher. My son s self-esteem was affected. Needless to say, my son is begging me not to go to this school again. As a family, we had a very frustrating experience, all while we were cooperating and willing to do whatever necessary to help the staff and my son succeed I hope that for first grade, he gets assigned a caring teacher At 6 years of age kids are forming their personalities, they look up to their teachers, and they spend sometimes more hours at school than at home, they need all the positive support they can get.

My son has been at EBT for two years (Kindergarten and now 1st grade) and we love it! The education is great, the expectations for the students are high which I appreciate, and they hold a lot of fun educational activities (field day, walk safe, career day, holiday family dances after school, PTA hosts family dinners at places like Applebee's to raise funds for various reasons, etc.). EBT doesn't just focus on testing. They also offer extra curricular activities after school and my son truly enjoys them. EBT is a wonderful school!

EBT is a great school, the teachers are friendly and concern about students. They are very organized and prepare the students very well. So far I have not complain .

I am in EBT since 7th grade and this is my second year there and all I can say is that it is the best school. The teachers are very kind and they do care about the kid's education. It is extremely clean and the rules are very strict. The teachers help the kids in everything they can. I strongly recommend that school

This review only covers the 3-5 year special education program that is provided at ETB. The rooms and school are physically nice and well kept, which merits two stars. The teachers and class structure, however, are inadequate for our son who is mildly autistic. The classes are too big and he is not receiving the attention he needs. I have come to this conclusion after the teachers asked me to send him in a diaper everyday because they do not have time to potty train him. Ironically, he is potty trained and hasn't had an accident in over a month at home, at his other school (we also have him at a private school), or when out with us. When he has to go, he comes to us and tells us, or goes directly to the potty on his own. The reason for the accidents at ETB is because he is not receiving much attention due to class size. The communication between the teachers and the parents is lacking, and most reports are stuffed into the bottom of my son's book bag. A perfect example is when we found his IEP report card a week later. If you have a child between the ages of 3-5 who needs to be in a special education class, look elsewhere.

EBT K-8 Center is an awesome school. The principal and the teachers are very straight. The school is very clean and it has a lot of fun things to do. The library has tons of interesting books. The classrooms are very organized and clean. The food is delicious and the staff is nice and helpful. Above all, the most important part is the community. They are the ones that put all their efforts to make EBT a successful school. I strongly recommend EBT to all students.

Excellent administration, teachers, facilities, and environment. Ms. Ugarte, our counselor, have been very supportive. This school is academically challenging by following University of Cambridge Curriculum. I highly recommend EBT K-8 Center. My children-2nd and 5th grade gifted, love their school!

The schools way of handling the children is inexperienced to say the least. The children in the upper academy, 6th-8th grade, are treated the same way as the elementary students. I was part of the first class to graduate from there k-8 and i was very discontent with the lack of freedom which leads to further issues once these kids enter a high school setting. The purpose of the middle school years are to bridge the gap from elementary to high school, yet this purpose seems to have gotten lost somewhere along the way with the creation of K-8 Centers. Do not send you're child to a k-8 center. It defeats the purpose of middle schools and leaves children unprepared to function properly in high schools and in society. Also, there were are no sports teams in this school. Middle schools offer a wide variety of team sports most of the time. I'm not sure whether all K-8 Centers or just this one lack team sports, but it deprives children of many of the opportunities that a classic middle school offers. A K-8 Center is essential an extended elementary school and pointless. -Former student

I do not recommend this school. The principal Ms. Falcon now named Ms. Barreira is not a good principal. She is the type of administrator who is never seen. She is always inside of her office and you can rarely see her during dismissal like other principals. A lot of the teachers have very heavy accent and the part that bothers me the most is that most of these teachers are in the lower grades such as Kindergarten and 1st grade. I believe that in these grades the kids need role models who speak proper English. Also, it is obvious that a lot of the teachers are miserable and hate their jobs. For example, two of my kids' previous pre-k teachers Mrs. Cordero and Mrs. Valdez are horrible teachers for pre-. Mrs. Cordero always looked mad or upset and she would always go to work wearing heels and fancy outfits. I believe a pre-k teacher is supposed to be nurturing and be willing to get on the floor with the kids to play and interact with the kids. Obviously if this teacher was acting like she was going to a fashion show I know for a fact that she was not acting likea true pre-k teacher. I believe that the way a teachers dresses says a lot about how they interact with the kids

Year by year, the school improves . Doral is blessed having EBT K_8 . MS Mayra Falcon, Principal , is doing an oustanding job , teachers are excelent and the school is so organized and clean . A+++++++++ My question is why Greatschools rates EBT K-8 only 7/10 ? Must be 10/10

Posted: September 3, 2011

My children have been attending EBT K-8 Center for the last 6 years and I couldn't be happier with their education. The teachers and administration strongly support the students and encourage parental involvement. My children love their teachers, receive personal attention when they need it and feel very safe. The building is always clean and carefully maintained as is the classrooms. The education at EBT K-8 Center is excellent and the students are always challenged to excel. This school has maintained their "A" school status since it opened. The success of this school is due to its exceptional leader, Mrs. Mayra Falcon, who expects nothing but the best from her staff for the students and community of Doral. She is very knowledgeable of the educational system and is easy to talk to for advice or suggestions. I am very pleased with the excellent education my children are receiving and thank the entire staff of EBT for their commitment and dedication to our youth.
