My daughters are strong learners and their teachers are maintaining their strengths and helping them strengthen their weaknesses.

None experienced to date. I am sure we will face it and I am confident that the current Leadership will deal with it appropriately.

All of the staff that I have encountered here are pleasant and they demonstrate a genuine concern for the students and it shows among the students. I saw the previous ratings and comments, it looks like they've worked hard to clean it up and maintain it.

So far the Doctors Inlet staff and Administration are wonderful. The Superintendent of Clay County Public Schools is performing marginal at best and has zero compassion for the students well being and education. With that said, the Leadership and staff at Doctors Inlet is performing very despite the poor leadership at the District level.

I would say as far as my experience goes, the academics aren’t too bad. They do place way too much emphasis on the FSA, but honestly all the schools are doing that. The problem is the administration. The bullying at this school is out of control (see bullying comment below)! Most of the teachers and staff turn a blind eye to it, and even suggest that the child being bullied must have done something to “deserve” it!! I know there is bullying at every school, but this school has a very relaxed approach to it, and I’m not okay with that.

Unfortunately, my son is a bully magnet. But.. I will point out that my child NEVER had any issues with bullying until attending this school. This is my son’s 4th year here and every single year he is bullied. The first 2 years it was at the school, and the past 2 years it’s been after school while walking home. Last year he was ganged up on by a group of 4-5 kids, and now this school year just started and he’s being bullied again. The child tripped him, slammed his head into the pavement, and started violently punching him in the head! My 8 year old daughter and 3 girls that live in my neighborhood were right there yelling for him to stop, but he wouldn’t. A car that was driving by saw my son on the ground, helpless, with his hands covering his head, getting beat to death and pulled over to break it up, and the kid finally stopped. Thank God for that man pulling over or who knows what could have happened to my son!! I immediately went up to the school to report it and the assistant principal was very short with me, like she just wanted to hurry up and go home. All they did was call the child’s parent and say that my kids can leave a few minutes early after school in attempt to not run into the bully anymore. They did that last year too and it didn’t help. I go up the a parking lot near the school to pick up my kids when it’s raining and even with them leaving early, I’ve watched the bullies pass my kids on their bikes! Then she suggested that since the bullying is a recurring thing that it’s got to be something he’s doing to make the kids want to bully/fight him. She kept asking my son over and over if there was anything he was doing to provoke the kid. Are you kidding me?! She actually went as far as to defend the bully! Saying that they’ve never had any problems from that kid before. Unbelievable! A lot of bullies emerge as they get older. This kid was in 6th grade and larger than my child. This school is going wayyy downhill! What used to be a 9/10 school is now a 6/10? Combine that with the bullying that just won’t stop. I’m in the process of trying to get my kids switched to a different school, but if that isn’t possible, this will definitely be their last year here.

I have two kids at Doctors Inlet and they have done so well. My oldest has went from a level 4 to a level 5 on the FSA with the rigorous content they teach. Overall the campus has slowly started to look better and better and they are always trying to improve. For the neighborhoods they have, they have done a great job remaining a B and an A school.

I LOVE Doctors Inlet! We came from Duval and it is night and day. He came from a "D" school in Duval and had to run catch up to an "A" school. His teachers and the school were amazing with their support to do what ever it took to help him. That was last year....this year he is doing very well. No school is perfect. Having parents involved is key to your child and the school. I have been on the other side of the fence...I love Doc inlet:)

The school needs a fence for better protection for the teachers, students and the staff.

Our 6th grader had a horrible time at this school. She was bullied so much and we complained to the principal, teachers and guidance counselors. Nothing was ever done about it, she would cry everyday when she came home. They supposedly have a no tolerance policy for bullying, however it is never enforced.
