Extremely Disappointing Experience
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of education and administration at PMWCA. The school fails in several key areas:
1. **Teaching Quality:** The teachers seem disinterested and unmotivated. They lack the ability to engage students and often fail to provide adequate explanations. Many students, including my child, have expressed confusion and frustration with the material being taught. Many teachers have been said and seen to be extremely unfair often blaming the victim for an issue.
2. **Administration:** The administrative staff is unhelpful and unresponsive. Whenever issues are brought to their attention, they are either ignored or inadequately addressed. The principal seems more interested in maintaining appearances than actually resolving problems.
3. **Facilities:** The facilities are outdated and poorly maintained. Classrooms are overcrowded, and the overall learning environment is subpar. Basic resources like textbooks and supplies are often insufficient.
4. **Communication:** There is a severe lack of communication between the school and parents. Important information is often relayed at the last minute, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
5. **Extracurricular Activities:** The range of extracurricular activities is limited and poorly organized. Opportunities for student engagement outside of the classroom are minimal.
Overall, I would not recommend PMWCA to any parent looking for a quality education for their child. The school needs a serious overhaul in almost every aspect. It's a shame to see such potential wasted due to poor management and lack of effort, I am extremely dissapointed with the schools fall from grace.

My children transferred schools 3 years ago and it was one of the best decisions we have made. The teachers are amazing and develop relationship with the students, so they are able to connect with them. The administration is wonderful , they are always involved with the activities, student make a point to go to the office to say good morning or even just to share a conversation, and no matter what they always make the time for their students. I love that the school is just like a family, but I think the best thing is that students and parents are heard and not just pushed to the side .

We have been at PM wells for 4 years. We love the staff, they feel like family. It always makes a mom feel good when she knows that not just her teacher is caring for her. From the office staff to the afterschool care to the resource officer they all take the time to know your child and get to know their family. We have had nothing but top notch teachers who think outside the box with their approach to teaching and have the freedom to do so.

Students are encouraged to complete online learning platforms at home as well as completing assigned tasks they do not complete in class. Homework is assigned as a tool to strengthen student skills with a given concept. Students' success with learning the different concepts taught in their classes not only depend on the strategies used by the teacher but also in the students' engagement with the subject. Homework is important.

Absolutely, one of the most important elements for student success in achieving their goals is having a strong character. Not only does our school empower students in becoming better citizens but we also encourage students to reflect on how to improve their character by understanding the meaning of seeing everyone as unique beings striving to accomplish their goals and aspirations.

Stay away from this school. Kids are bad there to each other. School staff does not make sure parents are well informed of all school activities. When we have to go to parents meeting is always that feeling on how disorganized things going to be, staff misinformation is their best practices. If you going to use the after school programs be aware that they might through your kid in to the bus and leave them alone on the street, after 5 trip attempts to the school finally i have them to sit down with me to discuss the incident. Mr Ramos, the new principle, seems nice until you have to solve an issue with him, he's a very arrogant person, and careless about their mistakes, he likes to compare that running a school is like running a restaurant. This my girls 3 year there and i cant wait to school ends so i can get my kid out of that hell.
Posted: December 4, 2017
My daughter is always confused about her home work. Kids are being trained to be slaves of the system. After spending most of the day in school kids must do too much homework not leaving enough time for them to be children. They only care about numbers, and that pressure combine with lack of education is showing at the school low ratings.
Posted: December 4, 2017
Teachers are being pushed against the wall. Number of students in a classroom are increasing every year not letting the teacher have a enough time to work better with the children. And those were words from the teachers themselves.
Posted: December 4, 2017
The only strong character my girl is learning is self-defense.
Posted: December 4, 2017
Leadership is a mess. Disorganization, misinformation, lack of knowledge, disrespect, careless is the best skills they have from 2016 year, and 2017 with the new principal is worse.
Posted: December 4, 2017
Like i said above, Teachers are over loaded and cant keep up with learning differences.
Posted: December 4, 2017
like i said, my girl is learning self-defense skills. kids often punch, push, use sexual verbal, etc. This is common, like a 2nd grater requesting others kids to have sex with them in a pool. School makes the meeting requests so difficult, like they careless.

My daughter has learned so much since she has been there. She has been bringing me the better grades than before.

Worse school in Kissimmee. Hands down. Cannot retain teachers. Unfair to students. Please do not put your kids in this school unless you truly don't care about their education. I'm pulling my child out ASAP. Put your child in literally any school but this one.
Posted: June 7, 2015
PLEASE BEWARE....Find your children another school. This school will damage your child education. The materials that are taught here are not even close to the public schools level or the state tests. Therefore your children and their education will be ruin

The school has a great new principal, but regrettably her hands are tied by the CharterUSA company. The company itself asks too much of the teachers and when they voice their concerns they are simply told to manage their time better. As a teacher I advise giving public school another look, especially if your child needs extra attention, i.e. ESOL or ESE. The teachers are usually more experienced and they usually have more resources. This goes for any charter school.

Yay the school got an A this year! After a lot of hard work and pushing from administration they nailed it. Very well deserved.
Posted: June 24, 2014
After many years at this school, I have seen a drastic downfall in the past few years. I have now pulled my children from this school, after giving time for "adjustment" after multiple changes in administration. It has become clear that it is not getting any better.

My daughter's teacher was great! However the school's administration is a joke. The school's administration needs to improve their school bullying policies. A student should never feel bullied by the people they go to for help. And forcing a student to be in the company of the students who bullied in the first place is just mean!!! They need to learn to get along with mean kids that cause them emotional harm!!!! And telling a student they can't go to the bathroom after lunch and they can wait infuriates me to no end, especially when the child ends up wetting herself in front of her class. How is it right that when a student is hit in the nose with a basketball on the play ground and is given a bag of ice from the nurse for her injuries, sent back to class because she didn't want to go home, only to be told by her teacher to throw it away? I could go on but there really isn't any point because these issues will never be addressed or corrected. The administration just doesn't listen or care which is why we've pulled our children from the school!!! Let's see if my comments get posted......

Love this school. They have been great for my children! The middle school teachers have worked super hard with my son. The elementary teachers have been amazing. My kids love it and I'm thrilled with what they have done for my kids!

I brought my son to this school from Osceola Public Schools. He was under served at this school. He actually slipped during the year. He had been reading at a higher level. Within a few weeks, the teacher had him back where he was, in his reading, at the beginning of the year. As for these people with these nasty comments, I know for a fact that ALL of the teachers at this school speak English. The teachers at this school take what they are given and work hard to improve the student's abilities. If they give homework, it is for the good of their students. I think some parents are not willing to help their children succeed and simply think it is the teacher's job to raise their children. If you don't want to raise your children, you shouldn't have them. I have been to the monthly meetings at this school, and it seems that the parents do not show up unless they have something to gripe about. This is a time to be constructive, not destructive. If you have a complaint, take it up with the school's administration. If you want your school to be a better place for your child and you truly care, you should come to the meetings asking , "How can I help"; you owe it to your child!

I love this school!!! The staff and principal are very caring about our kids education. There are different types of after school activities that our kids love. I definitely will continue to have my kids come to school here. The comments below don't make sense to me because it's not what is seen in this school.

My children and I are very pleased to be with P.M. Wells Charter Academy. We have been attending this school for 3 years. I feel that the parents that have these negative comments are not the real parents representing the school. Those are the type of parent that you do not see at any of the schools meetings. If they would just get involved and see what the school is actually doing, then your comment would be different. The staff at the school is very warm and friendly. Thank you P.M. Wells for being their for the students even though you might not some parents backing you. This parent is backing you ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!!

This school is horrible the staff allows bullying and don't correct it . It's sad that the principal and Dean does nothing to make it a safe environment. This school needs to be investigated by the board to see what's really going on behind close doors. I will not recommend PM wells to anyone.

I too made a review a couple years ago and it has been erased. I wonder who has control over these reviews. Parents need to know what has been going on with this school over the years. I removed my child a couple years ago and now have friends taking there's out as well. This administration needs to get it together!

This school has no organization and no management, unfortunately the ones that are getting hurt are the children. The dismissal is awful it takes at least 2 hours. The teachers are always sending school work besides the home work, they tell the kids that they did not have time to do it in class so it takes the children at least another 4 hours to finish plus they were not taught the information at school so it is difficult for them. My children have always been honor students and continue to be but I wonder how other kids are doing especially those that may have learning difficulties. Also when the kids have gotten hurt in school such as in PE there are no reports done and the kids are told that it is almost time to go home and are not sent to the nurse. The have come home with bleeding scrapes and bumps. This school really needs to be audited. My children will not be going there anymore but I hope that the issues get resolved before more children get hurt physically, emotionally and educationally.

Judging from the grammar of the parents in many of the comments, I can only assume that the problem is not that of the school, but of the parents at home!

IVE BEEN IN THIS SCHOOL SINCE 4TH GRADE/ ive always loved pmwells but this year the new princibal changed everything ,the teachers care more about the uniform then the students ,the princibal is always ontop of you 24/7 you cant go to the bathroom without the teachers thinking your doing something wrong,Also sometimes the staff would make you think you weerent going to go far, this school barley did anything this year and all the new rules where last minute,Anyway im in 7th grade I was supposed to be finishing the school next year but sadly im not I cant stand this school anymore just because of one year and the princibal from a student

As a parent that was recommended this school I thought it was going to be great turned out to be what i not expected. The homework they get is like they dont do nothing in class. the bring homework to the house where i end doing it at 9pm at night plus they expect the kids to take mandatory tutoring that believed or not should be good for the FCAT and guest what even my daughter failed and had to take summer. I am very disapointed. And not to end with the turned over before a year with the staff they have change in less than six month. I was looking for a great school end up with been a teacher and with no title because at the end you are the one who is teaching your kid

I have yet to meet a teacher at this school with competent communication skills. Parents must be 110% involved with all learning progress. If not, the child will not learn. Grade 1 is no different than grade K, same exact material and same excuses that it is the FL requirements. They will not challenge the child to be better, learn more, or even explore their full potential. Before and after care is expensive and unsecure. The playground is filled with fire-ant hills and the school does nothing about it. There is not one single extracurricular program for kids under grade 5. I had high expectations for the school and have been completely disappointed.
