WES is a great school! The teachers, staff, and administrators hold high expectations for all students. Staff members work cohesively to provide any supports needed to promote student success.

Having my child at Wilkinson Elementary is a great experience. All of the teachers and office staff communicate clearly and treat my child with care and respect for learning. I feel welcome on campus and encouraged to be a part of my child's education. Dr. Hayward has implemented great values into this school and I am glad to be a part of the Wilkinson Wildcats community!

This is a very “data driven” school. Circumstances are not an excuse. Being homeless, parents divorcing, and even a suicide in the immediate family is not an excuse to do poorly at anything, but especially state tests. Fun is indeed a criminal offense. Violent students are given plenty of opportunity to harm other students. Real solutions are never supported, and it appears cheating is implied but never said outright… of course for plausible deniability. Some poor teachers probably have cheated under the threat of being fired. All the teachers pay so much out of the little they make to make their classrooms at engaging and fun as possible. Trying new tactics is frowned upon unless they work, then it was apparently the schools idea to begin with. I’ve had children there that have been bullied and even stabbed. I think there are maybe 3 teachers here that still have any joy left in them for showing up. Nobody there became a teacher for money, but they’ve paid a much higher price than they bargained for. So many find entirely different jobs. Others are counting down the hours until they can afford to retire. The retirement is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. You make far less than minimum wage for retirement. Your home better be paid off because you won’t afford a mortgage payment or rent unless your spouse had a good paying job and retirement. I truly feel bad for the student’s here, they deserve better.

This school has went from a fun, family oriented environment to a place that feels like a prison camp with a dictator. Kids can’t talk going anywhere! Not even after school to going to the bus. The office and library staff are NOT friendly at all. It’s a very dismal place. The poor teachers that used to be full of life are looking drained and dare not laugh too loud. Happiness and laughter are punishable crimes at this school. We cannot wait to leave this school!!!

It’s so unfortunate how this school changed. For decades, it was the best school in North Florida and now, it’s the worst. One person destroyed such a joyous environment and made so many kids hate going to school.

Overall, Wilkinson Elementary is a great school. All 3 of my children went there from Pre-K through 6th Grade. They always got the support they needed. I would recommend this school.

Most of the teachers and staff are very good as with most places there are a couple teachers and one admin/AP that are a drain on the school and the new AP is why some of the better Teachers are leaving to go to other schools which is a shame since this school needs all the good ones it can get and most of these kids are lower income and special needs . But when the people at the top only look at numbers and not people this is what you get. I suppose it may never change , and as for some of these 5 star reviews I call BS fake news . All of the people up front except for the assistant principal seem to be good people but the AP will be the downfall of that school and they wont do anything until its too late.

I don't know why this school got a low rate. I have a daughter that goes here and they just do excellent with her. she is difficult to handle sometimes because of the fact she had adhd. They do everything they can to help her in the studies most needed. The teachers are excellent, the staff is great and the counselors are excellent as well. The only complaint I have on this school is that they need to make a bigger parking lot

Wilkinson is a Great school. I have lived in this area for 8 years, moving from Duval County. My oldest started 2nd grade here and she was behind. The teachers at Wilkinson helped her grow and before completing the first year she was reading at 3rd grade level. She has been an honor roll student ever since and loves school. She is now a Sophomore and plans to go on to a University to study math and science. Thanks WES. My second daughter is now a 6th grader and has done as well as her sister. The teachers are wonderful and they always expect the most from the kids because they know the students are capable of learning. They actually TEACH and are likable by both students and parents. A "B" now and still improving.

All three of my children have went to W.E.S. Two of them are still going. First I want to correct the SchoolGrade. Wilkinson is now a B school. The teachers and staff are wonderful. What this school lacks the most is parent involvement.Teachers can only do so much for our children. We must continue helping at home.
