I live in the neighborhood behind this place and they don’t shut up. They have kids out there, screaming at the top of their lungs all day and it’s disturbing the peace in our neighborhood. Please be mindful of your neighbors.

Bad experience for my kid overall. His teacher was not pleasant towards him. I felt that she allowed other students to taunt him as well. The art teacher was a monstrosity as well. When I would talk to the principal, it was as if I was over talked and the teacher would never do such a thing and maybe my child misunderstood. When I even message the teacher, there was either no response or she would come up with another scenario of how it happened. I believe my child and I think as adults, that school needs to do better.

He will be attending a much better school.

They don't care about kids. They want hight score in maths and they will use everything for it, and that include the mental health of your child.

They are so welcoming and open for communication. They are willing to assist if they can and/or are able to. Never made me feel like a nuisance even though I emailed quite often.

the school can only do so much, children are inherently taught at home but unfortunately these days it is lacking. I think the school does the very best it can and addresses situations promptly (according to my child).

The principal is very active in the school, I would see her often in the front office or by the drop off loop in the mornings. She engages the kids, allowed herself to be slimed for a fundraiser and has always seemed accessible, even by email.

I only had one child at this school. based on what my child relayed to me, they do support other students well. She had several students throughout her 3 years that did not completely speak English in her class and marked on the teacher helping them understand (in a positive way). I do not know about any other learning differences to compare it to.

There were very few instances where my child was involved and never directly other than she was a witness to one such event. I believe they handle it appropriately but have no direct experience.

I do not agree with homework in general. I believe that if a child needs extra assistance, then by all means, work with that child, but home should be for family time which is precious if you have one parent who works late and have a child who needs help with homework, which thankfully, mine was able to complete most of hers before I got home.

This school is amazing. The front office staff is always welcoming and helpful, we (me and child) even went to one's wedding. The teachers all three years were wonderful to communicate with and speak to about my child. The cafeteria workers were (mostly) kind to my child and she never had problems (we even bought one a Christmas present one year, she made that much of an impression on my child). I wish I had sent my older child to this school and I highly recommend it. Great Schools needs to up its rating.

My daughter has been going here every since 3rd grade, an has always made A-B Honor Roll every year. The school has always been kept clean and organized. I love all the teachers and the principal Mrs. Collins, they have made the last couple of years such a great learning experience. This school and its faculty is a prime example on how public school should be for every child.

I went to this school in 5th grade. I loved it, I had lots of friends, and especially enjoyed the activities. Just one problem, I was bullied in 5th grade. Along with my 4 best friends. We told the principal mamy times, and our teachers. The boys (who had tormented us for years), just got warnings! My friends and I were devastated. Besides that problem, Don Brewer is great. The extended day was fun. I wouldn't advise the lunch though, I packed. One last thing, does the Kindness Queen still visit?

Don Brewer is a great school. I love walking in to the school and the staff knows me. My children (3rd & 4th graders) have excelled in this school. The teachers are very friendly and encourage the students to achieve their goals and beyond.

Don Brewer Elementary school is one of the few schools that has an out standing grade for the area of Arlington. It has great Teachers, and Mrs. Collins who is the top Principle is awesome. I have spent a lot of hours working at this school as a volunteer and I have loved every minute of it. Give Don Brewer some thought, I think you too will find that it is the school for your child. Best wishes for all the parents in search of a great school for their children. Cheryel Porter grandmother of Razarro Reece Stark
