honestly don’t even know where to start, but I feel like I have to say something.

My son Samuel hasn’t been the best student, I admit that. But that does NOT mean he should be treated the way he’s being treated. That’s not a reason to basically punish a kid instead of helping him.

I’ve emailed teachers, staff, even the principal, and nothing really gets resolved. Either they don’t answer or they just say “everything is on Canvas” and that’s it. But the way every teacher has their assignments set up is confusing. It’s not clear, and even with a tutor it’s been hard to figure out what he actually needs to do.

On top of that, my son had a serious accident and needed emergency surgery. He was in bed for about a month. When he came back, he started doing his work, even if it was late for obvious reasons, and instead of working with him, a lot of teachers just refused to accept it. So instead of support, he just gets punished more.

There were even assignments sitting at the front desk for about a month that were NEVER given to me, even though I pick him up every single day. Now they’re saying he didn’t do them and marking everything missing, and not giving him a chance to make it up. That’s not fair at all.

Also, I’m going to be honest, it does feel like some students get treated differently. Whether it’s bias, attitude, or something else, you can tell. And as a parent, that’s very frustrating.

Some teachers are amazing and actually try to help, and I appreciate them. But most of the experience has not been like that.

I have proof of everything. If my son ends up failing because of this situation, I will take this further, because this is not okay.

Her attitude displayed by snatching My ID at the front and not allowing my daughter to have flowers for her birthday yelling at me as if I am a student is uncalled for specially with students that are watching. Clearly, she needs to retire and is not an example of what our young adults should look up to. After speaking with the principal, he had no objection to her having the flowers for her special day and admitted to PAIGE acting like this on other numerous occasions. She needs to GO!

This is our 2nd year in Farnell Middle School and my son has been having a great experience. Teachers are very diligent and care for the students. They a have great band program and this year restarted the FBLA chapter. Overall its a great school . There has been better communication since the new principal Mrs.Rauld. Great soccer, volleyball teams and decent track team.

The kids at this school bullied my child often and teachers dont do anything my child got shoved kicked spit on and verbally bullied. The teacher do not seem to try their hardest to support their students. A teacher said to stop disrupting the class to my child when they had a ethnic slur said to them and tried to tell the teacher.

Unless your 11, 12, or 13 y.o. is highly motivated, highly organized, and you the parent can teach him the material every night, Farnell MS in NOT the school for your kids. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, teachers are unsupportive, administration has ZERO policies in place to support kids, and no one seems to care. HORRIBLE I'd give it zero stars but its not an opton

A school is a reflection of its teachers and I would rank Farnell among the lowest. They will present this awesome plan for your kid and tell you what they are going to do but that is all they do well. So many false promises, bare minimum effort and a complete lack of care for teaching their students. Our kids have experienced everything from exclusion to bullying to teachers swearing in class. Phys-Ed is walking a track everyday. If you are looking for anything above the bare minimum you won't find it at Farnell. We hired a tutor to help support our kids and when he reached out to their teachers to discuss where support was needed he didn't receive a single response. We pulled our kids after one semester. Too bad, because the surrounding neighborhood is great.

Experience has been mediocre. The school is a BIG school, and resources are constrained. As an example, students oftentimes share textbooks, and cannot bring them home. There are a few outstanding teachers, a few that are phoning it in, and most are in the middle. While the school is an "A" rated school, I don't put too much stock in that ranking. Teachers have kids preparing a full two weeks prior to the test doing review packets, coming to study sessions after school, etc. I'd rather have my kids learning new material.

Homework loads can be heavy at times, but never seems like “busy” work. It seems purposeful.

Always a few bad apples in a bunch, but the majority of teachers are responsive, eager to help students succeed and genuinely care for the students. They don’t shy away from parent interaction.

With the exception of one fairly new guidance counselor, leadership has always been top-notch. Principal and vice principals are fantastic!

Majority of the staff is extremely caring and attentive. They don’t shy away from parent interaction. Always a few bad apples in a bunch, but overall, the faculty and leadership are highly effective.

My daughter completed this school and due to the excellent foundation that it gave her, she went on to one of Hillsborough County's Highschool International Baccalaureate programs and she has done very well with honors! Mr. Cobb is an excellent administrator and he doesn't take any crazy stuff going on. The success of the school grade being an "A" tells the whole story as well - As a parent, I highly recommend this middle school!

I hated my three years at this school!!! SO HAPPY IM OUT!!! Unwelcome atmosphere, bad food, no good arts programs (the "stage" is a little platform in the cafeteria) bad teaching technique, rude ignorant kids who exclude everyone and don't socialize with kids like "me", and most of all, an UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT! We've had drug chains, shooting lockdowns, a bunch of fights, and lots of depressed kids that went complete emo. Please DO NOT SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR FARNELL! IT SUCKS!!!!

very disappointed with teachers not keeping parents up to date on child's progress until the end of marking term, Also the bulling continues even though Mr Cobb the principal denies this fact, having blinders on is not helping the situation.

My son is in 7th grade. Second year at Farnell and it's been a great middle school experience for my child. He loves middle school and has had a lot of academic success here. Great school..great location..awesome staff..teachers..and principal Mr. Cobb!

I have had my two older children go to Farnell and now my youngest son attends. Farnell was an excellent school and now has become very "lacksadaisy." A lot of new teachers that don't seem to care, don't respond to emails, poor PTA president that doesn't do anything like Michelle Mayfield did, and they lost a great AP Mrs. Shellie Green. My husband and I moved into this community so our children could attend Bryant, Farnell and Sickles. Farnell would NEVER allow any students that did not live in the school zone and would double check to make sure of this and now, they let anyone attend and even check when they are informed of the kids not living in the school zone. They even go as far as posting on the school website for parents to buy laptops, tablets, bikes, game systems, name brand apparel to these students that are not supposed to be even attending Farnell and to other kids that don't even attend the school. Now there is bullying and children cutting themselves at the school that has gotten out of control. Guess it's time to look into private schools.

I was a student and this was one of the worst schools i've ever been to. To start of the list there is a severe bullying problem, so severe that i had to switch schools. The area around Farnell is a very upperclass community and most of the kids are your stereotypical popular kids. I was bullied everyday i went to the 6th grade guidence counsler, Ms. Garcia,assistant principle, and the principle himself, they said that they would talk to me about who was bullying me but they never did. For a lot of the kids I knew if they were struggling in class the teachers would talk to their parents ( did more harm than good if you ask me) but never helped them in class. They also overpopulate the classes for months until they finally switch people around. If you have a child that is LGBT, emo, goth, alternative, scene, depression, anxiety, any mental health problems that could cause suicidal thoughts or actions, do them and yourself a favor and DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS SCHOOL!!!

Im sorry but my son hoes to Farnell and I have nothing bad to say about the school. My son is a special needs child and before Farnell he never brought me home a straight A's report card and he loves getting up every morning and attend school. I also have no complaints about bullying. Our family went through a time of need and Farnell was there to help us out and I will never forget how compassionate the school has been with us. Most importantly my son bringing me a High Honor roll is priceless.

I'm a parent I have my 18 yr old daughter that attended many moons ago and did great. The leadership and discipline was great. Now I have my 12 yr old that is in her 2nd year there (7th grade) and this year has been challenging to say the least there are kids there that are cutting themselves. Guidance and teachers aware but don't even do a school program to make std aware that they are know and are taking the steps to help . That traumatized my daughter the clicks and verbal bully's are out of control something I wouldn't have ever expected and you call or go to the school and Nothing gets done Zero Discipline.

I am a student at Farnell and I like it very much but some of my teachers give me homework on the computer.What if your computer breaks?But overall my teachers are VERY helpful and there are NO BULLIES at all! I am definetly staying until 8th grade!

I am a seventh grader at Farnell and it is a great school like other school it has its flaws but they are minor and do not affect the fun and supportive environment. I honestly love all the teachers and it is a very good school.

This school is outstanding. My son has attended for two years and has done amazing. The teacher's are incredibly helpful and are extremely concerned for each student. Since my son began he has been properly assessed and has made a HUGE turn around in his academics. All I can say is that I am very grateful that my son has had the opportunity to attend Farnell Middle.

After moving here from NY, my daughter was able to adjust quickly. She was welcomed by all teachers and counselors. She also found it to be academically challenging.

I just love this school!! It's right next to a fancy and award winning from the state elementary school that I went to. There aren't that much bullies compared to other schools.

This school is sad. My son was in advanced classes and his homework consisted of word searches and coloring pages. My son also did not enjoy the complete craziness that ensued in the mornings while waiting for class to start. The teachers did not do a good job of monitoring.

i honestly love this school if people say its a bad school its not its the best its just some people who have attitudes but if there attitude gets out of controle it will b handled. the education is great all the teachers i know are nice but if u dont diserve the respect of the teachers they wont give it to you i think farnell is a fair school, bad thing is u have to change out in p.e. but u get used to it i reccomend this school!!!!!1

i was a 7th grader at farnell-it was my year though. betwwen bullies and teachers i had to leave schools again in midyear. the teaachers are terrible. i used to be a great behaving students then i got like a weeks worth off iss.

I am in 6th grade at Farnell and I've got to say I think it is an amazing school I am an A B student and have always been in the advanced classes. While some of my 7 classes are very fun and easy they can also be serious and challenging at other times. The teacchers are very nice and treat the students all equally. Some teachers are definitley more leanient then others in ways like projects and other stuff like due dates and also when you can talk and what not. The only thing that I was worried about in the beggining of the year was that for gym we have to change out and even though there were stalls for girls to change in but, honestky you get used to it and when your with your friends you start to feel more confident with it but overall I lovee this school and recommend it for anyone.
