This school has been a wonderful fit for our children. From day one, we felt the care, patience, and true understanding that make it such a special place.
A special mention to Director Alina Lopez, whose kindness and dedication shine through in everything she does. She gives each child individual attention, guides them toward success, and celebrates their progress every step of the way.
Our children are thriving here, both academically and emotionally. We are so grateful for this school and highly recommend it to families looking for a nurturing, supportive environment.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Center Academy. My son has been at this school for 8 years and has absolutely flourished in this time. When he came as a 4th grader, he didn't believe he was smart or capable. Now he LOVES school, he has a passion for learning, he's confident and self-motivated, and looking to be a Civil Engineer. Center Academy has changed our lives, truly! Every teacher my son has had has been incredible. They've been kind, patient, always willing to communicate, and each one has been pivotal in his growth. The new Director, Ms Lopez, has been a truly wonderful addition and asset to the school. She's been nothing but caring, kind, and engaged in my son's education and future and my son always talks about the positive energy she brings! Also, Mrs. Swinney is such a ray of sunshine and is the greatest admin you could ask for!

New Principal Ms. Alina Lopez and other new staff members do not know how to do there job efficiently, they are not respectful and lack what Center Academy stands by "Caring staff" This is the first year that this school lacks fairness and communication along with caring staff. They don't know how to handle things with respect and seem to not go by there word, wouldn't recommend this school until this principal leaves or gets fired.

Center Academy has been a great school for our son who was struggling academically but mainly socially in public school. He started in 8th grade and he's a senior now. The school really changed our lives, mainly for our son, all for the better.

This is our first year back into a formal learning environment after homeschooling because of a traumatic public school experience. The folks at this school made my son's transition back into a classroom so easy and seamless. He gets the academic and social-emotional support he needs to be successful in school. The workload for my son is just right and he's found it easy to make friends. My only complaint is the school doesn't do much to include parents and the communication from school to home isn't very informative as it relates to my child's education.

This school and its staff are amazing. My son has had the best experience at Center Academy. He is excelling in his school work and making great friends. I would recommend this school to any parent whose child needs a place to fit in socially and receive more support from teachers. His confidence and outlook on school has improved so much since he has been a student here.

Center Academy-Riverview has been life changing for our daughter. Before enrolled at CAP, she was very unmotivated at school and as a child with high functioning autism, her social skills were severely limited to the point we felt desperate. There were major academic challenges as well. In her first year at CAP, there is a complete turnaround in both areas. It's been amazing and we're so appreciative of the focus the entire staff has given to helping our child. The teacher-parent communication is excellent and we're so thankful for everything this school has done for our daughter to overcome major challenges.

This school has changed our sons life! We moved from Virginia where the schools were amazing and our son was happy and thriving. When we came to Florida, we were having a hard time adapting to public schools here. Our son has high functioning autism and was having issues focusing. We decided we had to get him out of the school he was in when his 3rd grade teacher told me she didnt believe he was capable of graduating high school. Our son is smart .incredibly smart and for his teacher to not bother to get to know him at all blew my mind. They were just going to push him from grade to grade, being content with the fact that he was a C/D student and thats all hed ever be. I was NOT ok with that, as i knew he was so much more. But more importantly- we needed him to know that he was so much more than that. Then we happened upon Center Academy. This is our 4th year there and our son is flourishing. His test scores just keep improving, hes always on the Honor Roll .but most importantly- hes happy, loves going to school, hes motivated, and hes proud of himself. That in itself is priceless and worth more than any letter grade. The staff genuinely cares about their students. The students success is their success. And the principle ..he is amazing. Hes a mentor, a positive role model, and an all around wonderful human being.

We love this school and all of the staff!!
Everyone is so supportive and really cares about the success of each student.
They support each child's learning style and assignments are broken down in manageable daily chunks so they are not overwhelmed.
Plus the communication & tools available to me as the parent are phenomenal and always current!
It's not just the academics - they treat students with respect and enable them to make decisions on their own. They also encourage students to be mentors and lead by example.
Enrolling in CA-Riverview has been the greatest thing for our child!
He's motivated to do his best each day and encouraged to give his full efforts.
It's completely changed our home life for the better too!

I absolutely love this school, from the headmaster Mr. Stone, to the teaching staff, to the precious office staff. Everyone is kind and nurturing to my son with learning differences, to even me. I fell in love with the school at our first visit and in my sons second year here currently, love it even more. There is every effort to accommodate learning differences and no tolerance to bullying or even unkindness. This is just such a great school. Feeling so blessed to have found it. Highly recommend!

Posted: February 10, 2020
Overall we are very pleased with our experience with Center Academy-Riverview. My son is very happy and has learned so much. I wish I would've placed him at this school when we moved to Florida 3 years ago as I feel his previous school lacked on teaching abilities. His confidence level is increased as well as his learning abilities.

My son had always struggled with homework. At Center Academy they are all about having the students finish there work in school. They only have homework if they are unable to complete the assignment(s) in class. This has alleviated the stress on my son and myself.

The teachers learn each child's learning style and teaches to that. The teachers take their time to ensure each student understands the work at hand.
Posted: January 28, 2019
The school sends work home in the event the child does not complete all work at school. Because of this policy, our child is not inundated with extra work each evening.
Posted: January 28, 2019
Bottom Line Up Front. Center Academy is the best school my son has attended. The staff at Center Academy understands how children on the spectrum learn and tailor their curriculum to fit the learning style of that child. Since attending Center Academy, our son has flourished at the academic level. Not only has all of his grades improved, his self-confidence has improved as well. From the principal to the teachers, the entire staff is involved in the student's leaning and success. Thank you Center Academy for everything you provide to our son.

My daughter has thrived in the individualized attention she receives. Group work as well as independent work are well distributed and encouraged throughout the curriculum.
Posted: January 28, 2019
Mr. Stone has a no tolerance open door policy that I appreciate because in the past my daughter did experience bullying at other schools that just didnt know how to deal with it. I only wish I had enrolled her here much sooner.
Posted: January 28, 2019
Their policy is that students dont have homework unless they have work they didnt complete in the classroom. This has motivated my daughter to remain focused and committed to completing her work in class.
Posted: January 28, 2019
The teachers are vested in their students progress and have motivated my daughter to the point where she is on the Honor Roll for the first time ever.
Posted: January 28, 2019
One of the things I love about Center Academy is how they instill and promote these values through example and effective teaching strategies. Bullying and teasing are not tolerated and the students learn to respect each other as well as adults in general.
Posted: January 28, 2019
Mr. Stone is a gifted and wise administrator. He is very stern yet caring in his approach with the kids. The school atmosphere is calm and organized which are key elements for successfully educating kids with special needs.
Posted: January 28, 2019
Center Academy by far exceeds my expectations of what I had hoped for. The entire staff and faculty are professional and vocationally vested in their students education. If you are searching for a place where your child is more than just a statistic, Center Academy is the place.

I can not say enough good things about Center Academy. We, like a lot of the families of children with disabilities, were searching for an alternative to public school for our daughter when we found them. For years she struggled with fitting in socially and not being understood which in turn affected her academically. She did have a handful of some amazing teachers along the way, but the system as whole was not equipped for her educational and social success. Center Academy changed all of that. They treated my daughter like she was no different than anyone else and gave her back her confidence. They have small classroom sizes which gives them the ability to help students who may be struggling or need more individualized instruction. They are extremely good at keeping the parents informed and included along the way as well. The entire atmosphere of the school is one of patience and understanding, and is built for success.
We only wish we had found them sooner.
The director, the teachers, and the amazing staff were a blessing to us. We are forever grateful to them for the huge role they played in our daughters life.

I wish we had found this school for our son years ago. It is a wonderful school with a very strong leader, Mr. Stone. The changes I've seen in my son since he started here are remarkable. For the first time, he is motivated to learn and shows real interest in the material. Their method of using desk cubicles for the kids is so smart! My son says it helps him stay focused as he is not distracted by other things going on in the classroom. He is also finally in a school environment where he feels safe, comfortable, and welcome. Bullying is not tolerated. Instead, the kids receive positive reinforcement and are rewarded for their efforts. Highly recommend!

Individualized learning plans, customized curriculum challenges your child s needs, excellent communication from school administration and teachers Our son has ADHD and the one-size-fits-all learning and testing in public school was frustrating. Our son was falling through the cracks because there were too many kids needing assistance for them to address our son s learning needs. We enrolled in Center Academy during his 5th grade year. At Center Academy, we loved the individualized learning, multiple teachers in the classroom, limited-distraction environment, and caring and helpful staff. His first year, his reading improved two (2) grade levels; we were amazed! Our son is a senior this year and he has enjoyed every year at Center Academy. He was very involved with the sports programs and the volunteer opportunities in the community. He is currently dual enrolled at Hillsborough Community College and plans to transfer to college full-time after graduation. Center Academy is responsible for changing our son s attitude about school, proving to him that he can succeed, showing him strategies to deal with his ADHD, and making him feel confident (and normal ) again.

My son Patrick has been attending center academy for 6 years now. My son was left back a grade in public school and had a reading level of 2nd grader in the fifth grade. He also had many issuses stemming from his diagnoises of ADHD and was not receiving the help he needed to succed. My son is now in the 10th grade at Center Academy and I just received his progress report all As and Bs. on and above grade level. My son will graduate next year when he was suppose to and plans to attend college and become a firefighter. I know this would not have been possible had he not been at Center academy with his behavoir issuses due to his low self esteem. he would of dropped out or been kicked out by now had he not had the help of the experienced, knowlegdable, wonderful, kind, considerate and very capable staff at Center Academy. My family is so grateful we have a young man that is smart, kind, confident, caring wants to help others and his community. We could not have had a better blessing in our lives.

Great school, great teachers, great admin. My son (5th grade) has gone from crying every day and begging me not to make him go to school, to getting himself up, dressed and ready to go looking forward to his day. He talks about what he is learning, his friends, and his teachers. Center Academy offers the perfect learning environment with a small student to teacher ratio. The teachers take the time to know the student as an individual, focusing on the student's needs, academically, functionally, and socially. My son has never been happier or more engaged in his learning. I love the transformation.

We sent our son here for fourth grade when his ADHD and anxiety disorders made a traditional public school too difficult for him. Everything was fine until he began exhibiting aggressive behavior in fifth grade. The school recommended a counselor and we entered into a contract that stated that as long as we continued to work with the counselor, they would continue to work with our son. During this time he was bullied by other students, and the school only punished our son when he reacted to the bully. After a refund date passed, he had an outburst in class and they expelled him. We were never told that there was a possibility of expulsion, and hadn't considered it, since we were still operating under the behavioral contract. Needless to say, we were completely unprepared for this and were left scrambling to find a new school for him. To add insult to injury, the school charged us (and has hired a collection agency) for a full year of tuition, despite his only attending the first quarter (which was paid in full), and added $2,000 for collection fees and interest, and will not release his school records.

Great teachers, curriculum, and school . If you have an hour an a half to pick up your kid, this is the school for you. Horrible who work in car lines. Why not get busses? Who came up with that idea? What about the ones that does not need to drive to the school? We don't park on the business. Any better ideas?

My daughter for the first time actually enjoys going to school everyday. The attention and understanding given by the teachers empowered her in her learning. The principal made sure to know all the students, and when we meet with her was well informed and full of helpful ideas to help her. My daughters grades excelled, her education self worth as well. There is a great community feeling amongst the students. We will continue to send her all the way through 12th grade graduation.

What an incredible experience my son had at Center Academy in Riverview. He has Aspergers Syndrome and we were so afraid for his survival in a regular junior/senior high school. My husband came across info on this school and we were lucky enough to qualify for the Mackay Scholarship. With that in mind and the student to teacher ratio, we decide to try enrolling him and we're so happy we did. Our son has been there for five years and has really excelled both in academics and in his self-confidence due to the nurturing environment and the ability to proceed at his own pace. He are excited to say he will graduate this month. Thank you Mr. Stone and all your wonderful staff!
