My daughter has been discriminated against as her 504 plan was ignored. Her teacher last year told me that it is at her discretion to follow her 504 plan, which I have in writing. She ended up failing and was placed in summer school, which she finished in ONE day! Still, after 4 requests we have not had a meeting for her 504 plan. Also, she was suspended for one day and she was sent to suspension a second day because they forgot she was there the day before. This is my 3rd child that has gone to this school.

They don't care about your students or families. This is just a job for them.

This was a great year at Mulrennan, one of the best! Safety (physical and mental) has been prioritized, no cell phones policies are tightly monitored and there has been a positive shift in the behavior. Teachers here care about their students and help them to excel by fostering both independence and collaboration in the classroom.

Bullying is horrible. Soo many children getting picked on but the school likes to give equal consequences to everyone. No learning/teaching opportunities. Kids educations suffer. It's a terrible school. They do not communicate with parents about anything unless your child is in trouble for something they did not do fully. Awful awful and beyond hurtful to see so much bullying occurring and how it is effecting so many kids.

My daughter had an issue with a bully, and the school took care of it the day that I reported it and even offered support for my child. I am very pleased with the way the situation was resolved. Thank you teachers and Mrs. Burdette!

The ESE specialist is available to assist elementary schools with the transition IEP and process from elementary to middle. He and the staff take care to see that students with special needs have their needs met so that they can enjoy success in middle school.

It all starts with the leadership! Mr. Ducker does car line every day! He leads by example! The AP's are out there, too! They are supportive of their teachers while working to ensure parent satisfaction - a delicate juggling act.

The teachers instill good morals and ethics in their students. Stealing, bullying, even copying another student's work is taken seriously and corrected. They get the parents involved, too. What a great job they are doing!

Teachers are caring and listen to parent concerns. Middle schoolers are still trying to find their niche and need guidance both academically as well as socially. What better role model than a teacher who is willing to come in early or stay late to offer guidance, tutoring, or just listen to concerns. These teachers then act upon the concerns of both students and parents. I wouldn't want my kids at any other middle school!

Kids need the practice for what they learned in class. HW time is a way for me to connect with my children after school and also sparks new conversations which increases learning.

The teachers, administration, and staff all work toward student engagement, both academically and socially. There are many clubs to join, sports, and tutoring. The electives (teachers) are awesome! I am so impressed with the professionalism that each faculty and staff member exhibit. Thank you for taking care of my babies!

I feel that we are off to a great start at Mulrennan Middle School. I was concerned about my daughters class placements for 6th grade. I emailed her academic guidance counselor several days before they were due to return from summer break. Upon her return, she immediately emailed me offering me a basic overview of the classes that my daughter would be in and offered me the new academic counselors name. The next day, I received a welcome email from the new counselor and she asked me if I had any further questions. It is great to know that they partner and communicate in this way. Coming from a Charter School this type of communication and partnership is what I have become accustomed to. We are excited to be joining the Mulreannan Middle School Family. I also met the principle the other day, he seems to be on top of everything and has some wonderful ideas to make the transition for 6th graders less stressful (ICE CREAM SOCIAL for the 6th grader). The 6th graders were able to come on this day, eat ice cream, tour the school, buy agendas and PE uniforms without the long lines of the entire school being there. This provided a wonderful experience for my family and my new 6th grader. This is the kind of forward thinking that I appreciate !!!

New to the school but hoping that the staff are very effective and willing to keep parents informed.

My kids love Mulrennan. The school is academically challenging for the students. I am very happy with the school and teachers.

The school needs to change the car loop for the bus loop. It is a traffic nightmare in the mornings and afternoons. The administrators don't do anything when a parent complains about other kids bullying their kid. Edsby is a joke because teachers don't use it properly so it can be effective for the parents. One teacher doesn't dress appropriately (does the dress code only apply to students?). I have emailed both the principal and vice principal in the past and neither has got back to me. No not happy with this school at all.

My oldest child attended Mulrennan Middle School 6 - 8th grades. I moved my youngest to Mulrennan from a STEM middle school that had terrible teacher/ethics. My oldest is an A/B student and my youngest is a straight A student. The teachers at Mulrennan are approachable, supportive, and fair. They make learning fun by getting kids involved in the classroom. The homework load is manageable for kids. Both of my kids are involved in other activities and do not struggle to get their work done. The administration has been nothing but wonderful. The guidance counselor was very willing to work with me regarding schedule issues. You don't see boys with their pants at their knees and you won't see girls showing half their body. The students are respectful of each other and the teachers/staff. Even the best schools can't stop everything before it happens. My daughter was bullied in 7th grade, however, when the principal & assistant principal were made aware of this, it was handled immediately and never happened again. Middle school is a very fun but difficult time in a child's life. It takes parents doing their job at home, so their kids can be successful in the classroom.

My child has attended Mulrennan for 6th and 7th grade and it has been nothing but a COMPLETE nightmare! It starts from the administration and I can count on one hand how many decent teachers my son has had. The students are just a number and forget a parent who has concerns or tries to be involved. MANY teachers frankly just have too much and too little time to go the extra mile for the kids, but who suffers? OUR kids do. The homework load is ridiculous, As a parent, I feel I should be getting a salary for all the late nights and outside tutors we have had to get just to get by. When asked by friends if 'like' my kids' school? Umm, that's not hard to answer with a big NO! Very much considering pulling them out and going elsewhere. This school's administration needs to seriously revamp 'EDSBY' (what a joke), instill back in their mentality why is it they actually chose teaching as a career, and putting children first to remember they are not herds of cattle or robots, they are young impressionable kids that are not all the same and be treated and taught as such.

When will they send the information packets for school ? I like to start my school shopping early so I don't have to do it later. My daughter is so excited to go to 6th grade.

I am a parent that came 2 years ago from Puerto Rico. My first son was 7th and 8th grade in this school and my second son is currently in 6th grade. My third son is coming to 6th grade next year in this school. It is a great school, great gifted program, academically challenged curriculum and a great principal that makes the school a very safe place for the studetns. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

I am a student here, and I can proudly say that Mulrennan is an excellent school with an amazing staff and teachers who actually care about the students. The teachers here are nice, caring, and they actually have a sense of humor and are able to make learning fun! If you are having trouble and are not as smart as others, they have wonderful tutoring programs in the mornings, and teachers would be willing to help the student as well. The staff here is dedicated and willing to do whatever it takes to make our Mulrennan Mustangs healthy, safe, and they want us to succeed. This is my last year at Mulrennan, and I have to say that I am sad to go. This is a wonderful school, and if you are considering putting your student into this school, there really is no better choice than Mulrennan.
