I have had my children at this daycare for almost three years. It is a great opportunity to create a community. The children have resource, go to chapel and have ample out door time in an enclosed playground. The younger children 1,2, and just turned 3 are on one side. Then you have 3 and vpk on the other side. They are provided with breakfast, lunch, and snack. The amount of activities they do are countless. With any organization there is turn over. The majority of the staff there today has been there since my arrival. I feel that anytime I have had questions about behavior or support the teachers have been more than helpful to aid me in several ways.

Most of the teachers/caregivers seem to genuinely care for the children, want to guide them, help them grow, and see them succeed. However, there is a high turnover with teachers and staff members. This seems to mainly be due to the management. The director is harsh, rude with staff and parents, not open to feedback or change, and will tell you they don't need you because there's always someone else that comes in your spot and that there's a waiting list. She seems to be set in her ways and is not open to suggestions or change. It's her way or no way and some teachers there seem to follow suit. (One teacher in particular seems to be spread thin between classroom and office duties. She doesn't seem focus on the children in her class, doesn't communicate well, and is rude to both staff and parents.) Money seems to be the only thing they care about and there doesn't seem to be any positive changes.
There is no consistency in what is expected of staff and teachers (discipline varies, teaching styles vary, communication lacks with parents/guardians, and more). There was no letter or communication when there was an outbreak of RSV and other illnesses among the nursery and another classroom. You do not get credits when they close down for weather and other issues arise. Some rooms are dirty when you get on the child's level (toys in particular) and toys do not seem to be traded out often. There is no defined security measures in case of lockdown or other emergency in the area (posted, in parent handbook, or when asked for explanation of measures). In fact, I was told that I have nothing to worry about because some of the kids parents are police officers and they are located across the street from the police department, city hall, and fire station. (Windows are in every door, big windows on the other sides of classroom, no emergency window coverings or locks for the door to keep intruders out in case of an emergency. The daycare does not want to seem to make any changes or updates pertaining to this matter.) Resource seems to have no real definition, guidance, or real enrichment. They seem to play with balls, do the same yoga stuff over and over, reading a book, and other bland things that seem to just keep the kids busy. When asked for examples of what they do for resource, the purpose, and goals, I was given a generalized answer that provided no real learning experience.
Not worth the money!

If I could leave zero stars I would. Terrible preschool, terrible treatment of children, and terrible parent/teacher relationship. This was such a horrible experience for my child.

Amazing school! Sent two of my boys here and wish I had know about it with the first. They are now 5th and 8th graders and still say how much they loved Wonderworks.

Wonderworks is one of the best preshools in Orange Park due to the great staff, organization, and caring facility. You always come in with someone greeting you with a smile, you notice your child's development and growth from the teaching and learning environment that they are a part of. The staff are very attentive to your needs and wants for your child. They give their all not only to the children but also the parents. They always have a great attitude as you come and go. The office staff are akways willing to communicate and make changes to any of your desires. You are always going to be satisfied with thie preschool. I have never had any problems with the school or staff. This school is worth every bit of it.

Not a good school. I tried to stay but after expressing my worries to the office staff with no affirmation or reception, I decided that I was chasing my tail. One day I went to the administrator with real concerns and she did not "hear" me. I was polite. When I left, I opened the office door to ask one more question to overhear the director mocking me by saying the Senior Pastor will always defend her. At that point I realized the school did not have my child's best interest in hand as they were more concerned about being right than listening to parent after parent express concerns. Go to Grace, Sugar and Spice or OPP if you need a school that is nearby, listens, cares is organized and has highly trained teachers. At my sons evaluation, they told me I needed to put him in therapies after I had spent a lot of time through the year telling them about the therapies my son was in. There is no listening. Just defensiveness. Such a frustrating experience as a parent who desperately wants her child to have a great education. We were warned by other educators in the community to avoid this school. We regret not listening to them.

We attended last year. If you get the right teacher, it's a good school. Unfortunately, the staff changed frequently. The school doesnt have good organization. The office defers you to the teacher but if the teacher is not organized then the parents dont know what's going on. Some wonderful families here. I just wish the school was more organized and had more developmentally friendly curriculum. When I made suggestions, I found the office staff defensive rather than concerned for improvements. We arent returning. There are great teachers and leaders at the school but sometimes leadership needs to be changed so new growth can occur. In this busy world, I need to know what is going on with my child. The school made too many last minute changes with a poor notification system.

My son was at Wonderworks last year and had a wonderful experience! His teachers were very encouraging and loving. They taught him so much. As an educator myself I believe that my child was given opportunities to learn and that he felt save in his environment. I think the curriculum was full of joyful activities like music, Spanish, theme weeks, art work, games, etc. The only reason I am not giving this a 5 star is because I am not sure the school lunch provided was the healthiest choices (a problem in many schools), but I fixed that problem by packing my child's own lunches.
