Do not send your kids to this school. They lack empathy and will mentally abuse your children by telling them they are a shame and call them liars when they can’t take accountability. It’s 10 percent black children there and zero black employees.

My husband graduated from this school in 1995. Here he learned not only from the stellar academics but also from the character exemplified by each teacher that taught him. He now holds a bachelor degree and is a sergeant with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. I truly believe that his job in public service started with the caring heart instilled in him by his teachers while growing up as a BCA student. It was a no-brainer that our children would attend here also. They have been enrolled here since preschool. One will graduate in 2025 and the other in 2026. A wonderful bonus on top of the great academic program is the music program! My children both have excelled in piano, each play low brass in the school orchestra, and both have grown into accomplished vocalists. They have both won multiple awards through the sports program in football, volleyball, and basketball. I’m so grateful to have a safe and loving environment where my children can learn and grow in character every day. Best of all, I know that these teachers PRAY for my children! There is no better gift to give a parent than to pray for their children!

I am a small business owner that has employed graduates of this school and sponsored many of their sports and extracurricular activities. Interacting with the teachers, staff, and students has been remarkable. I have been invited to and attended graduations, recitals, and programs for years here. These kids are taught to read, write, and have character, which is grossly lacking in most young people. Highly recommend this school.

Whenever a parent has a concern, the school leadership has an open door policy. I feel they truly listen and care about my children.

My daughter is dyslexic, but because of the smaller class size and the teachers’ dedication to helping her, she has become an avid reader. They have helped her discover that she has a love for writing.

Bullying is not tolerated. The peer pressure is to do right and be respectful.

We have had students in Berean Christian Academy for the last ten years. The teachers care about the students and pray for them. Not only do they teach school subjects, they serve as role models, examples and encouragers.

I have one child with a mild learning disability, which made school more challenging. The teachers and principal worked with us to help us find ways to help our child reach full potential. When we had concerns about progress, whether academic, social, or related to sports, the principal and teachers were always glad to meet us and talk about it. We love having our children in a school environment that mirrors the values they are taught at home.

A reasonable amount of homework is assigned to help students learn the materials. Any unfinished homework is brought to the parent’s attention.

My children admire their teachers. Teachers attend most all sports events to cheer for their students.

Posted: March 1, 2020

The students are encouraged to learn to have their own walk with God. They have devotions daily, plus they take time to pray for the needs of others. Frequently, my children come home and tell me about things they have done as a class to be a blessing to someone in need.

Berean Christian Academy has excellent academics, but that is not the only thing that makes it great. The staff and faculty are not only well-qualified but also great Christian examples. They nurture the students into being the best they can be. My kids, now teens, began attending Berean Christian Academy when the oldest was in second grade. Having been homeschooled previously, the transition was a great one. For ten years now they have been shaped and molded into being good Christians, good citizens, and good students. I am so pleased to have this school and would recommend it to anyone looking to instill strong godly character into their children. The best part to me is that the staff works with the parents in case any problems arise. We are all on the same team dedicated to guiding our children to follow the right paths. The athletic program is also a bonus as I am pleased that my children learn the value of teamwork while strengthening their bodies and minds. Another of my favorites is the music program. I have one student who has taken piano lessons for 8 years and two others in the orchestra. I love the balance they learn through academics, athletics, music, and so much more.

As a previous homeschooling parent of seven years, our kids have adjusted to this school better than we could have imagined. The teachers are attentive to their needs, they provide a solid Christ-centered environment for them to thrive in, and push them academically to be and do their best. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a Christian school for their children!

The school has moved to Jacksonville and is now a ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. This school is also now an open school and will allow non-church members to attend on a case-by-case basis. Almost 100% go on immediately to college after graduation and excel after high school. BCA, as a private school, is a breath of fresh air and a beacon of hope amidst the Duval public school system. BCA also takes Step Up For Students scholarships, and many other scholarships. You will be thrilled to see your child reach his potential at BCA!

There is no Christian Love in this school. You can find more nice people in a public school.

Berean has not shut down it has moved however to Jacksonville to reach more people and further its ministry. A great school that is ahead in education compared to public schools in our area

My children attended this school. I did not know when I enrolled them that this school is not accredited. None of their teachers hold a valid Florida teaching credential. You must be a member of their fundamental church for your kids to attend (ie it's a "closed" school). Read their school handbook-corporal punishment/swats. They seemed more concerned with indoctrinating my kids with fundamental baptist history. Your child will memorize a lot of useless facts about Jack Hyles instead of math, English or science. They will regularly remove children from class to clean, perform ground maintenance or cook as they do not have adequate adult staff to perform these tasks. Also, they do not encourage your child to attend any college or military besides their college which is on the same campus and is also unaccredited. Also, their beliefs do not encourage student diversity and the staff regularly encourages peer bullying of students that show individualism or independent thought. There seems to be a lot going on here that just never seemed right to me - I can't put my finger on it, just lots of red flags. I would recommend you check out any of the other great schools in Clay County.

As a graduate of Berean Christian Academy, I am glad to say how proud I am of thsi school! The teaching staff is tremendous. Not only do they care about achieving good grades in the classroom, but they care about the students on a more personal basis as well. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to establish a good Christian foundation and high academics. I learned so much through the teaching at BCA, and hope that one day my children are able to attend this great school. GO BCA!

I am a proud graduate of Berean Christian Academy! Before i attended the school, i attended some other public schools in the area. I have had experience with several different schools before i came to Berean Christian Academy, and i must say that Berean was by far the best! Berean has a high acedemic standard that trumps other schools, not just in our district, but accross America. Many times, we pulled much higher SAT scores and a much better overall grade level than our competitors. Berean is not just supirior in academics, but it is also a success because of it's staff. The teachers that are put in the classrooms have a real desire to teach. They don't believe in just teaching the material but instead, they realize that they are teaching kids that material. Teachers at our school always put the needs of the student first. There are also many opportunities for one on one time with the teachers for those who have a hard time learning or need an extra push. All of this, as well as many other attributes that the school maintains, are what make it an amazing school. I hope by this i was able to share with you information on a school that changes lives.

I attended Berean Christian Academy from Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I can honestly say that I would not change my education for anything. The staff and faculty of the school are committed to providing a higher standard of balanced education. They focus on the academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional developement of each student. I would have to say that some of the most crucial foundational years of my life were nurtured by caring individuals who encouraged me to make the right decisions which only spurred me on to success in my current endeavors. The teachers are highly intelligent and enthusiastic individuals who teach, encourage, love, and pray for students. They are people who are concerned with making a difference in the next generation. Some of them have turned down much higher paying secular positions in the hopes of helping those coming behind them succeed. One of my favorite things about Berean Christian Academy is that it reinforces the importance of loyalty to your family, country, and God--after all, He is the one who has given us everything we have.

Berean is hyper-focused on your children and their potential. They use top of the line ABeka curriculum and even add on top of that to strengthen their math skills. Your child, even if you think they struggle now, will excel by public school standards in math. Their english and grammar skills can't even be challenged. I know kids who have graduated and gotten jobs within a month of graduating, making $13-14 an hour out of the gate. The employers were so impressed with their poise and polish, but the math and english skills blew them away. If it were me, I would ignore a disgruntled parent who has a sad three sentence review, and check out the great adults that have grown up going to this school. They are a bright light in society today, thanks to the hard work, love, and consistency of Berean Christian Academy.

I graduated from this school, and if it wasn't for the dedication of the staff and teachers, I would never be the person I am today. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to attend Berean Christian Academy. I am enrolling my own kids this year! Parents should prepare to be a big part of your children's education. It is the heart of this school and you being a part of it is vital. They are constantly striving to find better ways to turn out smart, well-rounded kids. The kids are all so happy and it really shows that they LOVE going to school. The teachers love and pray for these kids. They truly want the best for them, and work hard to achieve success for the kids. They recently started taking the Step Up For Students Scholarship, so it has made this school accessible to many people who have always wanted a great and safe environment in which their kids could learn and grow. Please keep in mind that this is a closed school, meaning that you have to be an active member of the parent church to enroll your kids. You will find that the church is filled with parents just like you that only want the best for their kids and want to be a big part of raising successful children.
