Do not send your child to the school!! My son is three years old and was in their pre-K3 program. Below, please read my email withdrawing my son from this school. First United Christian Methodist is FAKE all around!!
First, I would like to say that we would like to officially withdraw from your school effective immediately. The excessive amount of text messages, emails, phone calls, and even an in person meeting for a three-year-old student is completely unnecessary rather than wasting the parents time. You should use that time to go back to school and get properly educated and accredited in the subject of early childhood education. Your consequences are completely inappropriate threatening to suspend a three year-old if he wasn’t picked up after acting like a dinosaur during chapel time. That is a punishment for the parents as a three year-old has no idea what a suspension is if anything it is a reward to get to go home early and stay home. It seems like your administration does not want to deal with bad behavior, but still wants to get paid for it. If you cared about the child’s behavior, you would do something about it instead of calling the parents to handle what you are incapable of handling. Which leads us to believe that all you care about is the money and not the child which is not the Christian way!! How is my child getting to the point of jumping on chairs through the chapel?? Where are the adults? Why are a group of adults unable to control a three year-old child there is no logical explanation. This entire situation should've been handled by your staff and notified to us at pickup time.
This along with every message, phone call and email received was ridiculous. We understand that the large majority of your administration and faculty is new to the school or to their position, but that should not affect us.

My son started kinder this year and started without being able to identify letters or numbers. He has excelled drastically within a matter of 3 months, he is now reading fluently. Such a loving environment. The open door policy makes it more like a homey feel. You're always welcome to help and are greeted mostly every morning by the principal. Honestly I am overwhelmed by how amazing this school is! Keep doing a great job!

In 3 months my son went from lowest of the class to catching up and thriving with the top readers. He went from despising school, to looking forward to coming to school and learn. How much more effective can it get?

Yes. They have homework like any school but it is not in excess.

My two daughters & 5 grandchildren have attended First United Methodist Christian School of Homestead over a period of 40 years. The children excell in academics, arts, music and sports. They are taught to be respectful of their school staff, teachers, and fellow students. The school began as a preschool and kindergarten and has grown over the years to include elementary and middle school. The students receive the one on one help when needed and most students excell in so many different areas once they begin attending high school. The lessons they've learned through FUMCS prepare them for a very bright future. I feel confident that the students receive a well rounded academic and Christialn education and the best available to all that attend.

My daughter started school there and my son did also! This school is awesome wish I could afford for my son to go there if I could he would definitely be there! Great teachers! Great administration and great staff!

It's a school where I am comfortable to leave my child and know that he is taken care of not only academically but physically and emotionally.

Teachers, staff, and students are expected to respect each other daily and use their manners, which is nonexistent in many public schools.

My children have attended FUMCS for 2 years now and have had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this school to anyone considering Christian education for their children. The teachers and staff are outstanding and communication is great!

5 stars is not enough for this school. We have been here 2 years and have always been very happy. The teachers are excellent, loving and have the children's best interest at heart. Their open door policy make me feel welcome at any time. My child is thriving and is safe and loved. I could not ask for more.

There is enough to review a topic or 2 a night and encourages reading. He has enough time to get it done and still play like a child should.

I worried for years about where we would send our children to school, but those fears were put to rest when we came to FUMCS. There is a real, tangible family atmosphere here. Because we are away from family, to us that is priceless. The teachers are firmly committed to LOVING and SERVING our children while giving them the best education possible. We couldn't be happier.

First United is a school like no other. Very family oriented. Safe and secure. You feel confident when your children attend here. They are getting the top notch education with Christ at the center. Doesn't get any better than this.

Education is so important to my husband and I which makes choosing the perfect school for our daughter that much tougher. But FUMCS made it easy for us. We had toured multiple schools in the neighborhood before making our decision to choose FUMCS. Some things we loved from the beginning were the keycode gate to get into the school, the large classrooms, the large playgrounds, how there were 2 teachers in every classroom, and overall you can feel the love and friendly atmosphere the teachers, staff, and students had. Now that our child is on her 2nd year at the school all is still true we LOVE our school and she does too! I have even had the pleasure of volunteering in some of the classrooms and all the teachers give their students so much love and attention. They take the time to make sure every student understands the lesson almost as if your child is receiving a one on one education but in a classroom environment. I always recommend this school to all our family and friends and will continue doing so. God bless.

This school is amazing! I am the father of twins and recently enrolled them in this school after having them in a local montessori school prior. The teaching staff is amazing! My one daughter was not progressing after 6 months in the montessori facility and was not reaching important mile stones. In 2 weeks of being enrolled in United Methodist, she has transformed into an amazing kid. She loves to go to school. My other daughter is doing amazing as well. The staff, principal, teachers, and administration are open and work closely with parents and students to give the best opportunity for my daughters to achieve and grow. I was touched while watching my daughters playing with the other pre schoolers on the playground when a group of 4-5 year old kids came out from their class in a single file line and as they passed me and my wife, each child waived and said hello. Most of them gave me a high five! This school rocks and is doing it right! Happy outgoing kids. This environment has helped my daughter come out of her shell and I am so grateful to find such a great fit for my girls!

I love this school I have two children that attend and I couldn't ask for a better environment. All the teachers are so loving and the education is awesome both my kids are excelling so well. I highly recommend this school.

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. I can honestly say that I fell in love with FUMCS the minute I walked through the door 10 years ago. My son started in the beginner program and is currently in the 6th grade. My daughter has also been here since the beginning and is now in 4th grade. I can't say enough about the teachers and staff. Their love and commitment goes far beyond the job itself. There is never a time that we are not welcome on campus. The teachers and principal are always available and willing to help in any way. As far as academics, FUMCS stands above the rest. This school in my opinion is the best in Homestead! !!!

THIS SCHOOL IS ALL ABOUT MONEY!!! EVERYONE JUDGES IF YOU DON'T GOT AS MUCH MONEY AS THE REST OF THE OTHER PARENTS THEY JUDGE!!! The Principal thinks she is better then everyone else. The only Teacher at that school who truly cares about the student's is Ms.Ann and Ms.Gail.

My school has awesome teachers, they put their heart and soul into educating our kids. The teachers at FUMCS are passionate about teaching and preparing our children for their future. They go above and beyond the call of duty. I feel very confident knowing our daughter is being groomed by professionals with years of experience in teaching and living a righteous life. They lead by example and set the bar high not only in educating but ib ethical and morale character. I absolutely love the staff at this school and feel honored and privelaged to have them as my daughters educators and role models.

First United Methodist Christian School is staffed by the best, most knowledgable, loving teachers ever! They meet each child at their level and give 150% all the time. They serve 2 year olds to 8th grade. The Academic and Christian education can not be beat!

This is by far the best school in homestead. There is no words to express how loving teachers and school staff are. This is my daughter's third year and she is reading one year ahead of her grade. I defenetly will recommend this school to, every worry and picky parent out there. This school is Christian faith oriented and it truly shows when my daughter talks about the love of Jesus at home. It's a healthy, safe enviroment and excellent education!!!

We love FUMCS! Both of our children started in pre-school (Beginners) and we have always felt a sense of home here. The open door policy is wonderful as well as the guidance we receive from falcalty & staff has been very helpful. Especially raising children in today's world. The Christian backing, and loving nature is so welcoming to our kids when dropping them at school we know they are in great hands & safe....

My son attended VPK here. We were very happy with all aspects of the school. People (staff, parents, etc) are friendly. Would recommend to anyone.
