I attended Sagemont from 8-12th grade and have nothing but positive things to say. I made many great relationships with staff and teachers who truly care about their students. The smaller size of the school and classes allowed for me to get more attention when needed but I also had a good deal of individuality that helped me prepare for college. As a basketball player, Sagemont gave me a great environment where I can improve my skills and balance both athletics and school.

Sagemont Prep is an amazing place for students to grow, learn, and lead with passion. As a former student and proud graduate, Sagemont provided a space for emerging leaders like me to not only get involved but to start new programming for the student body. Though a student-ran approach, Sagemont ensured that all students with a passion for being engaged had the opportunity to take charge through embarking on and expanding the extracurricular offerings. Ultimately, any student who finds passion in learning, problem-solving, and innovation will thrive here as all students continue to stride forward, making change both on and off campus.

There aren't enough stars to rate the experience we've had with Sagemont School and its staff. My son started at Sagemont in the sixth grade, and he just graduated in May 2024.
I needed to ensure that my son was in an environment where he would be well taken care of, with small class sizes and teachers who understood his challenges.
Sagemont and Mrs. Nelson provided all of this and more. If it weren't for Sagemont and their dedicated staff, I don't think we would have made it through these last six years.
I highly recommend Sagemont Prep for your children.

Sagemont Prep is more than a venue of learning. Its a community where parents, faculty and staff and engaged together to help children become the best versions of themselves. There is an intentionality to every thing at Sagemont and that intention is to ensure a 360 degree approach to our childrens development. The Administration cares about what parents think and find multiple ways to engage families. Sagemont Prep provides
exceptional academic opportunities as well as extracurricular activities like clubs and athletics. There is something for most every child to explore and pursue their passions. We have had the opportunity to enroll our son in other schools, but absolutely love the nurturing, caring and loving environment weve found at Sagemont. Our family cant recommend it highly enough.

Love Sagemont Prep. Our son began going to this school as a 6th grader and now will be going into 8th grade. I cannot say enough about the teachers and the administration. They are loving, caring, supportive and all around amazing. They are all about the children and their growth and education.
They have amazing classes to offer with a lot of hands on experiences. Real world experiences. The class sizes are perfect. The clubs the best. My son was in the Aerospace club and he went to NASA for an Aerospace competition with the school. How many schools have that? I can go on and on about the classes and clubs.
We visited and looked at reviews of many schools. This school has everything parents and a child can ask for. I highly recommend Sagemont Prep. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Simply the best.

It has been terrible since the change in administration. This place is losing students that have spent their entire school careers with Sagemont at an alarming rate

The curriculum has suffered greatly in the last couple of years

Multiple incidences of staff bullying and intimidating children

You'd have to have strong character to put up with the way the school has changed in recent years

Even the teachers and administrators are bullies

The only reason why I submitted my rate as neutral was because the site asked me to rate my EXPERIENCE not the school itself. Truthfully I had a good experience at Sagemont, but because of the friends I made there and the memories I made myself, not because of the school. While it is true that students get higher grades if they attend Sagemont, those higher grades really mean nothing. The school caters so much to full tuition-paying students without letting them learn. It almost made me feel bad for the few teachers that were great at that school. The average teacher at Sagemont probably teaches 7 classes, has to deal with constant wrong complaints from parents, and probably coaches one of the school teams. But, back to one of my main problems with the school: it can destroy your work ethic. I've seen many kids there so spoiled by Weston living and the administration that the moment they fall behind, fail a test, or don't understand something, they blame the teacher and complain; and the administration allows this to happen, rather than pushing the student to pay attention and try to work with the teacher. There was an instance in my AP Euro class when a student (who I knew cheated on every vocab quiz) asked me how I was able to always get A's on my vocab quizzes without studying for hours. I told the student I just took notes during class and read the textbook when I could so I would know the words rather than have to memorize them, and the student looked at me like I was insane and didn't even try to consider my advice. Sagemont caters so much to students it spoils them to an attitude like that. Sagemont wants so badly to have students with such good grades making them look good; and it causes them to spoil students that way - no matter how good a teacher might be. I never felt truly challenged at Sagemont except for when a few teachers let me go ahead of the rest of the class. I give credit to those teachers for challenging me. Unfortunately many teachers don't challenge their kids. Overall the school is not worth the tuition, and I was on an athletic scholarship. Shoutout to Mr Pepe, Mr Leip, Coach Pat, Coach Sandi, Ms Simmonds, Ms Yasmin, Ms Marwah, Coach Palmer, Coach Simmonds, Coach Jones, Coach Andres, Ms G (band teacher), and Dr O, y'all the real Gs and I love you all.

My daughter has been at Sagemont since 1st grade and I have only great things to say starting with her teachers and the staff who make you feel like family. The activities they create to keep parents involved, the arts, chorus and theater and all the clubs along with great networking among us the parents is great. The Battle of the Grades in Upper School is a treat! My daughter (and I too) have built strong friendships that have continued through high school. Academically they make every effort to help our children strive to become their best. Truly dedicated and genuinely given to make them independent, strong and ready for college and to take on the world! Sagemont school deserves the best ratings!

My daughter has struggled in some classes like math and science, but with the guidance and dedication of her teachers she improved and now is an honor student! Thank you Sagemont!

Yes, Sagemont tries to resolve immediately issued with bullying at school.
Posted: May 25, 2017
I do not have experience with this.

Sagemont offers several courses and has educational activities that teach and reinforce leadership.
Posted: May 25, 2017
Sagemont teaches good values among students including integrity, compassion, and respect.

I know that homework is sometimes necessary to reinforce what has been taught, however sometimes they give out too much homework.

This school is amazing! It has everything you could want in a high school. My son is currently a Freshman and my daughter is a recent graduate. There's tons of love at this school and it is a school that prepares kids beautifully for college. My daughter was guided brilliantly that she received full scholarships to Rollins, University of Miami and Nova (to name a few) and her transition to college was painless. Both of my kids have made solid friendships here and the variety of programs offered are fantastic. The staff is hard working and they genuinely care about their students. The atmosphere is positive, positive, positive and students are pushed to be super supportive of each other - cheering each other on every step of the way. Love this school and I truly feel blessed to have my kids at Sagemont

I have found The Sagemont School to be a great institution. When my daughter joined the school in 6th grade, within a year I was able to see the changes in her personality. She became more confident in expressing herself and her talents. She was able to participate in all the sports activities due to the small size of the school. Her teachers are kind, loving and encouraging. I am very happy with the school.

I would like to thank everyone at Sagemont for always being attentive to us. There overall process from administrative to education gets an A+++ in my book. Thank you Sagemont

Tough with patience and kindness not an iron fist. I also believe that the communication the teachers have with the students helps them feel the staff is approachable
Posted: March 2, 2016
Many parents complain about the amount of homework given at schools across the country. The truth is, the homework is just reinforcing the lesson they've been taught.
Posted: March 2, 2016
The Sagemont School listens to the needs of its students and their parents. This helps and guides the students to speak to their parents, teachers, friends about all sorts of topics besides grades. They are really treated with a level of respect that gives them the courage to step up, stand up and speak up.

I credit The Sagemont School for our son being in college. The family atmosphere, the constant communication between the teachers, administrators, and parents, the wonderful attitude and friendliness of the kids is impressive and exceptional. The school offers the diversity and challenges of real world life that they were not offered at other schools. While the athletics program is stellar, it does not out weight the importance of academics with both the staff and the students. When we first came to The Sagemont Upper School, we were so excited for our son to have the education as well as relationships this school offers. Everything admissions discussed with us, was valitaded and more. No hidden surprises or agendas on their part. A real family atmosphere. Now my daughter is here and it is an absolute pleasure being here every day!!!

I have several friends who have their children attending both the Upper and Lower school, all are very happy. I'm very impressed with how much college guidance my friend's son is getting and he's only in 8th grade! I've also been to several volleyball and basketball games Great facility, great coaches, great kids, great families. Excited to bring my future children here.

Sagemont has been a blessing in helping my daughter get on track. I am a very busy business owner and traveled quit a bit the last few years, living in different states while my daughter attended 2 Montessori schools. This type of education was not working for my daughter so when I finally could stay in Florida full time I decided to send my daughter to Sagemont. She started out with below level reading and writing skills. In less than half a year with Sagemont she is now doing great and at her reading a writing level. She is even above level in her vocabulary and spelling. She is also independently reading and studying for tests on her own. We owe this all to Sagemont and the wonderful Kindergarten and 1st grade team. This is great school!

This school pays attention to my children throughout every phase of their education.
My oldest daughter now has a GPA of 4.35 and loves her classes. My youngest daughter had problems organizing her planners and would missed/forgot homework and study assigned Sagemont's team got together and worked with her special problems. Now she's pulled up every grade in all her classes.
Both my daughters have found a special calling in their theater program as well. By the way, their theater program, by the way, is simply amazing. They have a college level theater professional drama teacher and their bring in Broadway choreographers and composers for their musicals.
Posted: November 7, 2015
All the teachers are top notch. It's almost like every class is at a college level.
Posted: November 7, 2015
Many people believe their children come home with too much homework in public schools. Well if you think that then you'll not enjoy Sagemont. They give a lot of work and expect a lot from their students. But that't the education and preparation I want my children to have. I fully expect my children to be VERY prepared for college and life ahead.
Posted: November 7, 2015
My youngest daughter had serious organization problems and bad study habits. The Sagemont team helps come up with a plan to get her school studies back on schedule and got her organized.
Instead of not caring about one child they took the time to help her, now her grades are great and she enjoys school.

Sagemont's family oriented atmosphere and dedication to both academics & extracurricular activities have benefited my daughter greatly. I feel she is prepared to tackle the biggest challenges ahead.
Posted: November 4, 2015
Students do well on standardized tests & the college acceptances & amount of academic scholarships are great. I think this is proof that the students are thriving.
Posted: November 4, 2015
Sagemont students take classes at all different levels. The honors & AP classes are rigorous. I believe the test scores & college acceptances show the kids are on track.
Posted: November 4, 2015
I believe the faculty's involvement with the kids helps develop an environment of integrity & honesty.

My daughter has a disability. At sagemont the other kids and the teachers/staff mercilessly bullied her until she left the school. I complained to the principal of the upper school and they did nothing. The school was fined as a result. I implore everyone reading this review, DO NOT GO THERE, you will regret it. It is a huge waste of money.
Posted: September 18, 2015
Most teachers were substitues and were parents of the children there because of the high turnover rates. Nothing at that place was stable and begging parents to teach is definitely not worth $30,000 a year.
Posted: September 18, 2015
My daughter rarely received homework assignments. It's like sagemont has a "do whatever you like" policy and expects kids to still learn.
Posted: September 18, 2015
There is nothing honest about bullying a child to tears and blaming the child for having a disability. No fairness at all.

I am a big fan of The Sagemont School. The students are such a nice mix of kids and they are very motivated to participate in their studies as well as extracurricular activities and athletics. The basketball team went to the state finals last year and that was very exciting. The graduation ceremony was impressive and I love to see that the graduates are getting into great schools all across the country. The new visual and performing arts center is a nice addition to the school and now they have a place on campus to perform their award winning theater productions and hold orchestra and rock band concerts. I am so happy to know many involved students at The Sagemont School.

This School really has done so much for him on so many levels. he will be a senior next year and I look forward to the college process since it went so smoothly already with my daughter at Sagemont last year. My kids are both happy and well adjusted honor students and I have the school to thank for this...

It's shocking how many parents here think this school is great. Probably it's because they never received any education so they think every school must be great. So many teachers here are inexperienced. To many of them it's their first time of teaching. I'm currently in college, and I can tell you this school does not prepare your kids for college.
Posted: May 26, 2015
I have been at this school since 2nd grade and regret ever going to this school. The faculty and teachers do not even care about the students.
Posted: May 26, 2015
The main reason why I hate this school, is because of the teachers. The teachers don't care about the students at all and most don't even teach us.
Posted: May 26, 2015
The homework at this school is pretty good with homework, but sometimes there is a lot of math.
Posted: November 20, 2014
We have had 3 children at the school. My oldest daughter graduated from Sagmeont in 2013. She loved her high school and the true test has been to see her come home from the University of Florida during breaks and watch her go back to say hello to all her former teachers. As a sophomore in college seeking a degree in International Business and Marketing, she always tells us how her high school experience prepared her for all the success she has been experiencing in the present. . As parents we can write reviews such as this one, but the most important review has come from our kids!

My children have been in Sagemont since PreK and we couldn't be happier with this school. They are now in 5th and 6th grade. The environment and the teachers make all the difference.

My son just started at Sagemont in January 2014..He loves it!! It's a small school that academically challenges each individual. Students, parents, teachers, and administration work hand n hand for the benefit of each child. I've seen 1st hand how caring and supportive the school is. I have high expectations, and thankfully haven't been disappointed. Nothing is better than having your children love school and excel academically!

We Love "The Sagemont School". It has exceeded our expectations! Sagemont is the top College preparatory school in this area. Our daughter is a 2014 graduate who earned an athletic scholarship to further her education. Our 68 seniors combined, earned over 6 million dollars in merit scholarship money. Our son is a rising junior and we are looking forward to his future, as Sagemont guide the way.

Our son is happy and challenged to the fullest at the Sagemont Upper School. He is able to take classes beyond his grade level in areas of talent, and he is learning how to write exceptionally well and integrate multiple subjects and skills into projects (e.g. science fair) and problem solving. His teachers are passionate about their subjects and learning. And we re really impressed with Sagemont s focus on college preparation from the middle school grades on. Our son really enjoys his friends and extra-curricular activities, including sports and the outstanding drama program.
Posted: December 17, 2013
I've seen my two children blossom into culturally enriched, artistically developed, athletically inspired and academically challenged young ladies in their years at Sagemont. Though its a small school, there is an elite attitude circulating throughout the hallways. The administration encourages students to achieve at high levels in the many academic and extra curricular departments they offer, and the students really "buy in" to the idea that they can do great things with their lives. If my daughters decided they wanted to excel at academics, sports, art, music, drama or become a civil servant, I have no doubt that they would get the support they needed to fulfill their potential at Sagemont.

This is our ninth year at Sagemont and I can't imagine a better fit for our three children. We continue to watch them thrive and grow in the challenging, technologically rich and nurturing environment. Keep up the great work Sagemont!

The Sagemont School is an amazing school that has greatly exceeded our family's expectations. The Sagemont School offers a wide variety of athletics, clubs, and artistic opportunities. In addition, The Sagemont school is on the forefront in their utilization of technology in the classroom. The curriculum is challenging and geared toward college preparation and success. Most importantly, I feel Sagemont provides students with a personalized, safe, and nurturing environment. I cannot say enough good things about this school.

Student: An extremely good school. The Sagemont School is better then all of its counterparts while being 1/5 of their size! The local highschool (Cypress Bay) had a graduating class of 1,266 (2012) and from there around 21 went to top universities. At Sagemont the graduating class was aprx. 28 kids, 14 of them went to top colleges. The drama department is known for its amazing plays, they have gone to states compettions and won. The music department goes to state competitions too and the kids get "superiors" too. Sports wise the school is great too, the basketball team goes to states each year too (they won in 2011). If you do the math you have more students suceeding in every aspect in this school than in anyother. The environment is very open and friendly. Kids are always eager to meet and make friends with the "new kid" and we also get many international students that are there for a couple of months of the year. This only creates a diverse environment where one is able to learn a lot about different cultures. My best advice is to go and pay the school a visit! Don't believe everything you hear, go and find out for yourself!

I don't like this school very much. As an 8th grader, i've spent 2 years in this school (since 6th grade) and have noticed that the teachers here don't care about their jobs. We even have a basketball coach who teaches world geography (like seriously!?). Average school. Don't recommend for parent wanting a great private school in weston.

The education that my daughter received at The Sagemont School far exceeded my expectations. Not only did she receive college acceptances from each college she applied to, more importantly, she earned an academic scholarship to her #1 choice, University of Miami. The individual attention given by her teachers & college advisor at Sagemont, the challenging curriculum including AP coursework, and technology provided the groundwork for her success. The leadership & community service opportunities she was afforded prepared her for similar opportunities at the college level which she took on with confidence. My daughter is happy and continues to excel. The Sagemont School provided her a great start in life.

Really prepares us for college. My classmates got into Cornell, Emory, UPenn, Boston College, and more. Really strict on uniforms, but lots of things to do on campus. Teachers (for the most part) are great and it's not too small, not too big. Better than American Heritage and Pine Crest because the teachers really know us and care. Our sports are really good too.
