Beautiful School. Great teachers. Great facility and grounds. Also allowed to drive a golf cart to school. Amazing athletic facilities and close proximity to everything in Vierra West!

school year 2025-2026 they took a lunch hour away; they went from 3 lunches to 2. The lunch lines are ridiculously long; there are too many kids for two lunch hours. If they stand in line, they have 6 minutes to eat. That is not acceptable. There was an open house that they had before school started which was a joke. The lines were extremely long, and it was very unorganized. No communication on what we were supposed to do or where and what we needed to sign up for. People were jumping from line to line, everyone was confused. We stood in a long line outside in the heat, crazy. Having an open house has been happening for years; they should be able to do this in their sleep. I think the principle is definitely out of touch with reality. She sent out a video on how everything went smooth and how wonderful it was. In her eyes everything is wonderful, and it just isn't. Alot of the teachers are just ok. I rate the school 2-3.

This HS is perfect location for dual enrollment. It's about 20min drive from EFSC Cocoa or EFSC Melbourne. From their old slides, in 2020-2021, 431 graduated with an AA degree. In comparison, Edgewood website states, "The Class of 2022 had 1 student graduate high school with an AA degree from Eastern Florida State College." If you're not interested in the dual enrollment program, Edgewood and Westshore are probably better, but they also have entrance requirements.

People in the Honors or academy programs definitely have the advantage over their fellow peers, who aren't treated as well or given teachers as good. Even as an academy student I can see this. If your child does have the advantage of being in an academy or honors classes, then I do recommend this school. Otherwise I suggest you research good alternatives.

We all have an advantage living in this area not just with the school systems but with parent involvement. Based on my experience, a student can get so much out of what's offered here but it just depends on what they choose to put into it. There will obviously be some temptations but proper parenting should take care of that and the teachers can certainly take care of the rest which is teaching the subjects they're assigned to teach. Once I chose to reach out to a counselor for help into guiding my son towards his engineering aspirations and was quickly replied too via email and had a pleasurable conversation. Front office area greeted me kindly as well. Sports programs seem to flourish here without the sacrifice of academics. I'm proud to live here, a place with conservative values, something that seems to be missing in many communities lately. Many of these students will someday look back and see how lucky they had it and some already know.

This school is alright, nothing special. Many of the students who attend this school are middle-upper class to upper class, and flaunt this fact regularly. There are some real special teachers who truly care about their students' education and wellbeing. However on multiple occasions I've seen students bully and pick on "easy targets", the quiet kid or the lower class kid or the geek. Most times the bully is one of the white, clearly upper- class, "popular" males (it's usually this same group of bullies that goofs off all class and is a disturbance because they have plenty of money to push them through college anyways). Sometimes something is done about the bulling while often times nothing is said of it. Being a minority, the majority of this school's population is Caucasian, often there are times where there is an obvious bias of the teachers or administration towards the majority and those who are in sports. Overall this school is great for those who are well-off, athletic, and white or light skinned.

My child attends VHS and is currently a Jr. One of the issues that I have with the school is the inconsistency with the teachers posting information to Edline. I think I may be one of the few parents of a Jr who still visits Edline regularly. We have had unpleasant several conversations with our child concerning not turning in work on time, only to find that it was turned in, but not posted to Edline in a timely manner. I am not sure if this is the case with the other high schools in the county, but this has been my experience with VHS. May be a minor issue to some, but it is an important issue to my family. I wish the teachers would do better.

Teens find support from a great teacher Ms. Hummel, She helps in education and support to group teens with Autism, and my Asperger's daughter 15 years old, who needs another teacher special for she can speak pretty good English. Now school doesn't have money for this. More resources give good possibilities education for young people that are future.

Unfortunately, Viera High has significantly lost its reputable image. They lost a wonderful administration in 2011 and their new administration doesn't compare. It's a shame. My first child had 4 incredible amazing years and thrived. Sadly, for my other children, they have attended under the new administration along with a string of new teachers and it has been extremely disappointing, They lack sincere concern for the students and run the school rather militantly. Some of the teachers do not have the maturity level to handle teenagerrs and should not be teaching high school. If you are considering Viera High for your child, I would strongly urge you to educate yourself before making that decision,
