I had high hopes for this school but due to many complaints regarding my sons teacher I had to remove him from this school. His teacher was verbally abusive and very disrespectful to my son and other students in his class. Not to mention the principle and other higher management only enables that behavior and did nothing to hold the teacher accountable. The school seems to only care about money than their students well being. Truly sad.

This school is HORRIBLE! Which is why they turned the reviews off on google. The staff runs amok. The principal allows them to treat the students however they want with no repercussions no accountability when theyre skipping meetings on purpose harassing the students using foul language in the classroom. They will harass your student to give them their phone put in their password and not even allow the student to be there while theyre going through their personal information. The only concern is principal has is if she gets front row parking doesnt even come to the school on time just rolls up whenever she wants the school needs a new principal.

This is an absolutely TERRIBLE school. I have never in my life dealt with such an incompetent group of people. They do not care about the kids, all they want is to ride their power trip and make kids feel terrible about themselves. My kids have special needs and they have been nothing but UNaccomodating. Absolutely hate it here and can't wait to wash my hands of this place.

If you enjoy your child being bullied just send them here. The principal and the Dean is a total joke and does nothing to handle sexual harassment situations but blame the female. My daughter was sexually heckled and harassed on a daily basis by a boy who never was held accountable. The boy would make insulting comments about her body. He was constantly commenting on her breast size and made my daughter so conscientious about he body she started covering her body with large baggy clothes. The boy never got reprimanded but actually the opposite occurred. The principal actually gave this boy high praises and recommended him for an advance placement in another school. This principal and staff have hurt my daughter concerning her GPA and refuse to help her in anyway. I am consulting with an attorney on how to move forward.

My son completed his 8th grade year at ISNM with three high school credits, which ensured he was ready for a successful high school career focused on receiving college credits. The administration, leadership team, and educators currently at this school are highly effective. The school continues to ensure a safe and positive environment for all students and has added a counselor to help with this aspect. This school has open and prompt communication with families.

We are wrapping up our first year at imagine and have had a great K experience. We get honest daily feedback on how our child is doing. Our child had some behavioral issues with listening and staying on task and we were able to address these and get our child back on track. We get a quarterly performance review with a teacher conference.

Their use of technology is fantastic with daily communications and drop off and pick up. School events have been fun, and we gladly support the school financially. I'm always amazed that the teachers are there in the evenings and on the weekend for these events.

Mr Haas is a great music teacher and leads an excellent holiday show. Miss Robert's takes care of business and cares about the kids growth. We're excited about our child's growth this year.

I was hopeful that this school would be amazing since we have heard nothing but positive things about the palmer ranch and the North Port locations. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The communication is the absolute worst I've ever experienced. When my child received her report card and it stated that she was working "Below grade level" in ELA, I requested a conference (since the report card gave you the opportunity to request one.) I was never called or emailed about setting one up, I emailed twice regarding it, to which I never received a email back. As a last resort, I emailed the principal to set up a meeting with her to talk about some of my concerns, which, of course I heard nothing back from either.

No science projects, no fun learning. Its all book work.

Just wasn't a fit for my daughter and certainly, the lack of parent/teacher communication was not a fit for me.

Current Imagine parent. My child has been with Imagine for 2 years now. Last year they put in place a new principal who has provided much needed stability to the school. My child has had great teachers for both his years at Imagine and continues to test above average on diagnostic test. The PTO works hard to bring lots of fun events to the school, which allows the parents plenty of opportunities to get involved and spend time interacting with their kids and the staff. Overall I am quite satisfied with ISNM.

I can only speak for VPK/K- kids that are 4 or 5 years old should not be given 1-2 hours of homework. The teachers are so bad that they do this instead of teaching. Additionally, they tell the kids to be creative with art projects they send home and then send it back, hurting the childs feeling immensely, if it does not look like a parent did it.

No organization or adequate communication. They have numerous fundraisers, but I have no idea where that money goes. The area where the car rider kids wait has no shade or overhang, so they wait in the direct sun and heat at the end of the day. The playground for the younger kids is practically all dirty sand. The DJ they recently hired for yet another fundraiser played really inappropriate music for a school event, with explicit lyrics containing swear words and sex. When asked for donations toward various school events, they want your receipts so they can use them for their own tax write offs otherwise they refuse the items being donated. Absolutely zero organization for everything. We're switching schools for next school year, but the teacher my son has really seems like she doesn't enjoy being a teacher. Very unmotivated and unenthusiastic. Whenever we go in the school for conferences the classrooms and doors are all very decorated and fun, but my son's classroom is not. I've seen the other teachers in my son's grade dance, sing, and encourage, while my son's teacher does not. We were just so horribly disappointed throughout this entire school year. Most of the schools in Manatee County are not very good at all, so please consider school choice or hardship if you're not zoned for the better schools. Don't make the mistake I did, thinking that this charter school would be a good choice!

My wife and I are proud parents of Imagine North Manatee. The teachers we met over the last couple of years and the principal really care about their role in the students lives. Even the bus drivers have played positive roles the students. This school has been wonderful for our son and am so glad he has the opportunity to go there as not everyone does. He hasn't always "loved" school before going there and though he still may not, but he obviously has come to enjoy it much more than he did before attending there. We definitely do not take this for granted and appreciate the staff there who look out for him and the other students there. Keep it up!

Everyone is treated with respect, including the students. There is a constant reflection in upholding the 7 character traits that children win awards for throughout the school year. The staff meets to discuss and reflect how they are bringing those traits into useful, everyday life experiences.

I have 2 children at this "little school that could". We have been so grateful to have a place that uses a collaborative approach to education since moving from a top rated charter school in Los Angeles 2 years ago. The only reason I leave the final star off is that we have a new principal who's dedication never ceases to amaze me, and I know even better things are yet to come - a fantastic leader with the tools (communication, organization, and staff management) to take Imagine to the next level.

This place is extremely disorganized. I have to contact the school teachers at least once per week to find out what's going on. They're the only school that I know of that doesn't post assignments online to help the parents. When we first started, I missed several meetings and other important events--they told me that they posted them on Facebook. The Facebook posts, however, would be posted after the event and reference a past date as if it were upcoming. My child is very unhappy at this school. My understanding is that they change principals every year as well. I think it has potential but doesn't get its act together

I think this school is wonderful for both of my children. The VPK program is great and Mrs. Butzow is amazing! I have an older student there and she is adjusting well especially after coming from horrible Blackburn. I would recommend this school.

I attended north manatee 4 years ago it was by far the worst school I was ever at . There was no structure the classes were a joke they were so easy .when I left to go to high school I had no clue ,I was at a school with 900 kids then I had to transition to palmetto high with thousands of kids the classes at palmetto actually tought me grade level material. Imagine did not so I was lost it took me over a year to adjust. I wouldn't wish this abomination of a school on anybody. Parents beware!!!!!!

I have worked at Imagine for three years and have seen a dramatic change with the new administration. The faculty and staff work hard each day to provide a nurturing environment for all the students. I am a parent and an employee for three years now. I come to the conclusion that people complain no matter what even when your trying to do your best. To complain, instead of uniting and helping solve problems when they arise is the easy way out. It take hard work and commitment to help out however people don't have the time, I think they like to complain. I really hope parents and staff can work better together for the childrens sake and the best for this little school. Here to serve the best I can.

What can I say that previous posts haven't? Communication does not exist! Bus routes work sometimes, and when there is a change, you do not know until you are at the busstop wondering where the bus is. PTO meetings are a joke! I go to obtain hours, but they are more of a big fight or the president thinking she runs the show...which she is rude and does nothing! Just attend the meeting and you will see. We may or may not be returning next year; our area does not have many options, so it comes down to picking the lesser of two evils. Maybe they are trying to improve, but it wont be where it needs by the time my children are ready for highschool, which is at least 4 years away. They talk about how to bring in more families, when the ones they have don't matter.

I stick with 3 stars, even though I thought it should be 2 instead. I still believe IMNM is improving, at slow pace. School and playground are quite clean, students seems to improve their manners during assembly ceremonies, teachers are willing to cooperate in helping my son find interest in learning. It seems there's improvement in bus services as there was no call informing about bus problem. But I'm not happy to have a chance to know that all the children got punished if there were any of them didn't behave during recess. All of them would be kept outside under Florida heat and sun during May for 1 minute per unruly child and none of the children had a hat. It's overwhelmed for the teachers with a bunch of kids but I hope there's other way but this kind of unfair and harsh punishment. I can't comment on lunch as my son brings his own. I believe teachers provide study materials but don't explain much and expect my son to learn it himself and we end up spending quite some time learning at home. My son will have to return next year because it's just convenient for us.

HORRIBLE DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE ISNM. Teachers constantly yelling at students. Principle doesn't do ANYTHING ABOUT BULLYING. Parents BE AWARE AND SEND YOUR PRECIOUS child to ANOTHE SCHOOL. This school is always in need of school supplies but they send you out with a list that will cost you a lot of money. Lack of communication from staff to the parents.. PTO has now become a joke. HOT lunches are bused in (not a biggie).. but the hot lunch students get barely any food.. and what is left over has to be counted and sent back IN?!!!! .

Worse communication I have ever experienced at a school. If you are looking for teacher who teach, are organized and who have open communication, this is not the school for you or your children. Principal is a joke. Avoids to answer your questions even after several meetings, if you can even get a meeting with him. My children will not be attending for another school year. One has been more than enough. His response to bullying is "I can not do anything about it if I didn't see it." I'm afraid my child is so far behind where he needs to be that he won't be able to catch up for the next year. Sad that I ever send my children here.

I regret sending my children to this school. It was one of the worst decisions I made. The school is very disorganized & there is a total lack of communication with the parents. The bus service is totally unreliable, some buses & routes have been canceled or the times drastically changed, some days or weeks there is no bus service so if you live far from the school it is very inconvenient especially for working parents. There are a few good teachers but most of them are lazy or very moody. A child should never be yelled at for asking questions about something they do not understand & they should not be made to feel stupid. Some of the teaching methods are questionable as well. Telling a child to figure it out on your own is unacceptable, nor is showing non-school related movies in class because you are too lazy to teach & then telling the child to study, learn & do the subject work at home that should have been done in the classroom. There have also been some behavior problems with some of the kids at the school that were not handled very well & there were some violent fights between students making it an unsafe learning environment for the other students. Bullying does occur here.

This school has a great potential if they have experienced teachers. I have a 2nd grader and a preschooler. It is so convenient for me to drop both of them at the same school. Teachers are school's main core of the school, if you get a lazy teacher or a newbie teacher you are pretty much missing out even though you've got a clean brand new school, small ratio of kids and intimate setting kind of school but low quality teacher, its a bad combination. I felt like a bad parent that I did not move them out of school it is more for me than them. But this year we are not coming back. Good luck on choosing the right school.

This school lacks communication and organization. If you want your child to get a good education, then don't send them to this school. They don't respect ESE or 504's, teachers don't communicate with parents, school lunch is brought in on a daily basis and the kids get next to nothing. Not sending my children back to this school next year.

This school has great ideas, but lacks the organization to carry them out. They have had some great teachers, but they overwork them and stress them out to the point that they want to quit! Every year they have huge teacher turn-over (so much for my kids having the same teachers for three years) and every couple of years, they fire the principal and bring in someone new, who they are SURE is going to solve all the problems. And the middle school is a complete disaster. The students are unsupervised way too much of the time, and the discipline problems are completely out of control. They brag about how they meet each child where they are and challenge them, but my kids both got better grades and scored higher on the FCAT test when I switched them to another local charter school. I do not recommend this school. (from a former parent)

Although the Principal is very nice and tries to address each and every concern overall it is a disorganized mess. They do not communicate they are not honest and the teachers meander through the year without giving accurate updates and progress. There are transportation issues and more than once there has been problems with the busses and after school activities being cancelled with no notice to parents. School leaves MUCH to be desired. We are not sure we are returning next year as the traditional public school seems to be the lesser of two evils.

We enrolled our granddaughter in Imagine and couldn't be happier. We like the cluster concept and being able to email the teachers with questions or concerns and they respond. Miss Nancy in the office is fabulous and Mrs. Lucas as principal is wonderful.

The GREATEST school! My daughters started attending Imagine North Manatee in 2011, in 1st grade and the 3-year-old program. There is such a strong sense of community here! The teachers are exemplary: they really care and challenge the students every day. My daughter's reading improved exponentially within her first semester when the teachers and I worked as a team. A high level of parent involvement, small class sizes, and an amazing principal also make ISNM great. I don't have to worry that my kids will "fall through the cracks" at the huge public school down the street. An excellent school.

Imagine School North Manatee has challenged my daughter's abilities to succeed academically and socially. Her teachers are great and really are concerned about our children to grow and to learn at their pace. The teachers are available to answers question via email or personally everyday. The smaller class size has allowed more interaction with students and their teachers, however, the children learn to find the answer themselves before asking the teacher. I believe if the student sits there and is feed the answers them become lazy and want others to help them. If you want a school to challenge your children this is the place to come. If you want the children to sit at a desk and let the teachers feed your children the answers go to a county government school. The School takes on the whole child development, not just academically. The parents must participate and volunteer for the school 20 hours a year. I think they need to be more strict on this rule because you still have parents that just drop kids off and expect the school to educate and to baby sit. This school is not about that, Education is the Parents responsibility with the School to assist us.

We have been at Imagine North Manatee for three years! My kids are in 1st, 5th, & 6th. We have had experience with all levels primary, intermediate, and middle. Imagine North Manatee is like a family! The teachers genuinely care about the kids. The majority of the teachers spend time with the students in extra curricular activities above and beyond the regular classes. Between my three children, they have 13 educational teachers and three specials teachers. All of them have more than exceeded our expectations! The small class sizes are awesome and allow for personal attention when needed. The administrators are awesome and Ms. Nancy in the front office is a tremendous gift to the school! Imagine North Manatee is a winner!

My granddaughter has been going to this school for 3 years. We put her here because we didn't like the public school that she would be going to in our town. It was the best decision we could have made. We like the teaching style and the community feeling the school gives. We would not hesitate to reccomend this school to anyone considering a change.

Teachers are great and the principal is the best! All staff truly cares about the students. They will all go that extra mile to make sure your child's needs are met. We moved from Ohio and the public system, and returned to Florida and Imagine Charter. The student/teacher ratio decreased and my daughter's grades increased (from Fs to As). I could not be more happier or prouder of my girl. This school is great for academic performance in my child, and will remain in a charter school for her high school years.

I removed my son from our local public school to go to Imagine. My initial reason was so he was secured for middle school. I have since found he is far more challenged here than he was before. I believe this has been the best move for him. They also have the added benefit of school bus that come to our neighborhood when I need it.

I love this school! I have 3 children at ISNM and love it. I have an average, above average child and a below average child and they all get excellent support and guidance. The children have the same teachers for 3 years in a row with the "Project child" program and it helps the teachers know the kids better as well as the kids knowing the teachers. All of the teachers work well to support the children.

This is Imagine's sixth year and this one proves to be it's best by a land slide! A new principal has the highest expectations of her staff, students and, most of all, herself. Imagine has joined Florida's Gulf Coast Athletic League and will go competitve with Track and Field, Soccer, Cheerleading, Football and Choir! Academic Achievement has set a new bar for quality and vigorous instruction. All this in an intimate, family-like setting. Imagine Rocks....watch out...VPK - 8th waiting lists to come!

Imagine North Manatee has made huge academic gains this year (check our school grade ; ) which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, staff and families! We are so proud! And while we prepare our students to be successful with any assessment, we never teach to the test. We have so many positive changes for the 2011-12 school year and I can't wait to begin. We've had some changes in staff, due mainly to job change for location, but our staff team is still as strong as ever! Our new principal has so many great ideas and has been working so hard to make the 2011-12 school year the best yet! We have a new principal, new mascot (GO Thunderbirds!) and some new staff, but we are still the strong, close-knit, caring Imagine family that has always happily gone above and beyond to help your child succeed with a smile! If we weren't, I would've left a long time ago for a much higher county position salary that reflects my qualifications. But Imagine is the school with heart and values! : )

Not sure why my review was deleted, but I would not recommend this school. I simply was not happy about the way it was ran. My child's teacher taught the test rather than taught the child. As a result, when I switched the local public school, he was very behind.

It is funny how all of the negative information about this school seems to disappear. I will admit most of the teachers are great but there have been a lot comments about how negative the principal is and how rude the admin staff is. Now imagine North Manatee has changed principals again, three in the last four years, and the new principal has decided to fire about a third of the teachers. This school is a constant disruption and very confusing learning environment for the children. Take my advice before it is deleted; avoid this school at all cost.

I am very impressed with Imagine School North Manatee. The teachers are truly passionate about teaching and are continuously working toward becoming more effective teachers. The smaller-sized school allows for a more personal environment where the Principal actually knows each student's name and the teachers know and have relationships with students not in their classes! There is Art, Spanish, PE daily, Computer lab and Music infused in the curriculum and I wouldn't send my children anywhere else! I have done my homework and Imagine School North Manatee is where I feel my children receive the best in education and character development. They love going to Imagine School for four years now and that says a lot!
