If you want your kids to have a stripper hired by JMC at their prom, send them there. JMC only cares about being "fun" at prom with a complete disregard for appropriate behavior with the acts they hire. A woman dancing around in a thong with a tiny dress and getting girls to dance low to the floor, to the point where their underwear is showing isn't a good thing.

my experience at this school was rarely good. Most of my teachers did not know how to interact with kids correctly. Once i tried to ask a teacher about my grade but she yelled at me to get out. i’m a straight a student btw. The 8th grade world history teacher is rude

I was fortunate enough to have all four of my children graduate from JMC. I have seen the school evolve over the years only to become better. Every school has their own unique problems. However, JMC staff take the challenges and works to make them better. During my time there, the school was known for having many fights. Many parents decided to withdraw their kids and send them elsewhere. I too struggled with that very decision. I can honestly say that i was pleasantly pleased to see how quickly they implemented a zero tolerance for fights and vaping. Every school has their star teachers and i can honestly say, that JMC has many. It was bittersweet when my last child graduated JMC. Thank you for getting us through Covid and probably the most unprecedented time ever for teachers. To the staff and leadership, i am grateful for having a hand in educating my children.

This will be my son’s second year at JMC, and he has thrived in the Cambridge Magnet Program. The school has played a significant role in helping him become more independent, self-reliant, and responsible. Being part of the JMC family has been a wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly and supportive, and the teachers are engaged and genuinely care about their students. JMC also offers a wide variety of after-school sports and programs, which has added even more value to our experience.

Like many parents, I was anxious about the transition to middle school, it’s a big change for both students and families. But the JMC staff made the transition smooth and reassuring. I’m very happy my son is part of this school, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to other parents and students.

I was worried about my son starting middle school, because I know that’s where they are exposed to fighting and other things. he just completed his first year at JMC and he had an amazing experience. He absolutely loved it! The teachers develop personal relationships with the students and really care about them. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. Have had nothing but positive experiences there. So happy we chose it

As a mother of two children who each completed their three years of Middle School at JMC, I can say with absolute certainty that these six years were filled with wonderful experiences and unforgettable memories. From the very first day, we felt the commitment and dedication of the entire staff, always attentive to the well-being and development of their students.

I want to thank Principal Elio Falcon for working alongside his outstanding team of teachers for the well-being, growth, and safety of every student. They not only provided an excellent academic education but also instilled values, discipline, and motivation, helping my children excel and prepare for the challenges ahead. Every achievement, every memory, and every friendship formed is a testament to the great environment at JMC.

Infinite thanks to the entire staff and each teacher for being such a fundamental part of my children’s lives. I highly recommend JMC to any family looking for a place where their children can grow academically and personally, surrounded by support, inspiration, and opportunity.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at this school. The gifted program truly supports academic excellence, our child earned top scores across all exams this year, and we couldn’t be more proud. The staff does an incredible job fostering a learning environment where advanced students are both challenged and encouraged.

We also really appreciated the opportunity to participate in the car racing team with Mr. Madrid. It added a fun, hands-on layer to the school experience and helped build confidence and technical skills. Grateful for a school that offers both strong academics and unique extracurriculars!

The teachers at Jorge Mas Canosa are incredibly kind, patient, welcoming, and helpful. I struggled a lot with mathematics but with the help of my teachers I passed every state test. There are many fun classroom activities teachers choose to do, and students seem engaged in learning. Classrooms are decorated, inviting, and homey. There are also many fun and educational after-school clubs and activities like sports, theatre, reading, and more.

The new tech program at JMC is the reason I decided to enroll my son. The program and the academics were more important to me than location. I live 3 blocks away and was willing to put my son elsewhere. When I heard about the tech program I moved my son from another local school to JMC. Best decision ever! IT program is amazing. Coding, RC racing, 3d printing, drones, computer tech. Principal, staff and educators are fully vested in the students and their success. My son loves the school!

m currently a high school senior who attended JMC. I still look back on my time at Jorge Mas Canosa middle school with a lot of appreciation. Middle school can be a tough time for a lot of students, but this school truly helped shape me. The teachers were incredibly supportive and always went out of their way to help students succeed. I even grew close to some of the teachers and still keep in contact with them! I especially appreciated how many of them truly cared, not just about grades, but about students' well being and growth. Beyond academics, the environment felt safe and welcoming. There were plenty of opportunities to get involved, whether it was through clubs, sports, or school events. I made some of my closest friends there. I highly recommend this school to any families looking for a caring, well rounded, and academically strong place for their kids to grow.

Hello, I was a student at Jorge Mas Canosa Middle school almost two years ago. I truly had a wonderful middle school experience in JMC my sixth, seventh, and eighth grade year. Going to school was always so fun, I would be so eager to see my friends and teachers everyday. As someone who barely payed attention in elementary school, learning was made fun and interesting at JMC. I knew so many wonderful teachers and staff that had hearts of gold. The students there are also very talented and hardworking. Sure, we have had our fair share of fights at some point in the past, but now JMC is filled with students that are pure and talented. I know this because I still come to JMC as a volunteer to help out when I can. This school is not only a friendly place filled with caring staff members and enthusiastic students, but it’s also an important home to many little learners.

Recently graduated from this school and I’m glad to be a paladin. Loved all my teachers, felt comfortable with them and i learned a lot throughout my three years. I know a lot of kids hate on JMC but that’s only because they aren’t around the right people or just don’t value education. That’s the truth. I loved the office staff members and some teachers here really were like second parents. Will always look back with gratitude.

I went to this school from 2019-2022, and somehow even throughout the pandemic the teachers were able to get us enthusiastic to learn about the subject, and somehow managed to survive a group of kids with only half their face visible for 2 years. I applaud the teachers for being kind even while facing the most difficult cases, and applaud the school for offering so many opportunities for students to choose from. Proud to be a former Paladin!

I graduated JMC last year, when i say that i have never seen a more VIOLENT school than JMC, i truly mean it. the kids there don't know manners and not a single day would pass without this being displayed. there's some teachers that truly made the school year bearable. but if it wasn't for them, the 4 minute passing period in that huge school, the disrespect, and the unnecessary violence would've made me switch schools long before i graduated.

I would not wish any six grader the experience that my child had. This school has so much drama all around. There’s not one positive thing that I could tell you about JMC. I just want to help other parents prevent the same mistake I made letting my kid attend this school. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO JMC.

They always has the same answer it's too many students 1400 it's not possible to controls everything.

My daughter is going to high school but the last two years she spent at this school have been the best. I am involved as a ptsa parent and I am often there. I have not one bad experience or comment about any of the employees or the behavior of the students. The administration is amazing, the teachers are great and dedicated. Everyone is helpful and all I have seen is great desire to improve the academics and to give these children a great school. Thanks to all of you at JMC for making my daughter experience memorable

I'm a student at jmc, my last year, I don't dislike the school but it has much to improve on. The school makes students feel stressed whereas they are suppose to make you feel safe and well, educate you. Many unnecessary rules that just make the staff sound silly. The administrators can be extremely rude, when your eating breakfast they're yelling at you very loud to hurry up, even if there are like 20 minutes left. They also do that at lunch. The school can also be very irresponsible, there was a girl in the office whom asked for a menstrauation pad, the lady gave her a tiny panty liner and added "this is not Winn Dixie." I take much offense to that because you wouldn't want to walk around the school with an uncomfortable stain. She could've had consideration for the poor girl who has to go through that as every woman does. The school is suppose to have a supply of hygienic needs in case of an emergency. The education is well, some teachers don't even teach but honestly that will happen at which ever school. I'm in the Cambridge Gifted program and I cannot complain, academically. Although there is so much more to a school then just academic and we all know that.

I attended Jorge Mas Canosa's Cambridge program taking gifted classes for 3 years, and it really was overall a great experience. The teachers are great, I never once had a teacher I disliked, and they all taught in a creative and hands-on way which really motivated me to do the work, and learn a great amount as well. They really did teach me so much- yet most of the time it was fun. This was my experience in the Cambridge program, and in my opinion it was a great program to attend.

I started my first year in this school and it's pretty nice, it does have it's problems too. Problems are the 8th graders think they own school so it's hard they pick on you and they know if your a sixth grade. But i haven't had any 8th graders pick on me since i don't talk to any and try my best to get outta trouble. The teachers are helpful and care to educate you. I came to the school with an F in math and finished my first year with a B in the class. The intensive classes don't really help at all since they just teach you what you learned in your regular class so it's a bummer i did not learn anything in intensive the only way i got by learning was in my regular math because all i had to do was focus. The school has its ups and downs the security guards should learn to keep their mouth shut when they curs around students and they should handle the 8th graders bullying everyone else in the lower grades other than that i give the school 4 stars.

If there was such a thing as a grading scale for students to rate their level of satisfaction at their school, from 1 to 10, I'd chose 9. I'm a soon-to-be ninth grader, and I'm proud to say Jorge Mas Canosa's been the school that has nurtured my mind and helped me grow emotionally and mentally, from an awkward kid to a future professional who knows her stuff. It's like a station in my educational career I had to pass, to really get my priorities and goals straight. When I discovered I wanted to be an architect, in sixth grade, my classmates were learning about linear perspective, and we had to draw a view of a city with what we had learned. I made a view from Dubai's famous skyscraper Burj; my teacher said it was cool but I should stick to rectangle buildings.I was in awe whenever I glanced at my first drawing. There was something about doing that, of the complexity of how such buildings were built and were capable of still standing in their grandeur without falling and squashing us mortals. I told my maths teacher I was interested in this subject, and she gladly explained that it was math that made it possible. Thanks to this, last March I applied for the engineering magnet program.

My daughter attended this school and she was very happy. At this moment my other two sons are attending and they have the same teacher as my daughter had. They are very professional and they respond to my emails or calls the same day.

Parents are saying good things about this school because what they are listening to is what their children are saying that probably enjoy the constant problems. I attended middle school there and I can say it was the worst three years of my life and I don't miss that school not one bit. There were constant fights, one morning up to 4 fights one right after the other. Several teacher were ridiculous I had injured my hip and my p.e coach made me run anyways. When problems were adressed to the school they were handled in all the wrong ways but I'm just glad I'm out of there and just for everyone to know I was in the cambridge program with great grades but I doubt any parent would want their child going to a C school.
