My daughter went to this school as a new student end of her 4th grade year due to a change in address. On day 1 she was bullied by a student and her teacher. Teacher of course denied any wrongdoing, i didn't really expect her to own up to her actions to the assistant principal. The next year 5th grade she was threatened to be beat to death with a sock full of rocks!! There was no suspension, no expulsion of the students who made the threat. I was told by the principal that they could not tell me the outcome of the students who made the threat. At a minimum the student should have been suspended or expelled for making such a threat. If at all possible, please do not put your child in this school.

One of the worst schools in the district in terms of special education, staff, inclusion, and diversity. Steer clear if you have a child with special needs or want them to have a quality education. This school and staff will fail you and your child!

I absolutely LOVE this school. My 5th grader has been attending Summerfield Crossings since 3rd grade and my youngest started Kindergarten this year.
Principal Harvey is so great with the kids, he knows them by name and is extremely personable. If I ever have a question or concern he is quick to respond to my email and calls if need be with a smile and willingness to discuss. The office staff is equally amazing with the students, when my youngest was home sick multiple staff members asked my oldest if his brother was okay, or said "I missed your brother today". I could not be more impressed with my sons IEP teacher, Mrs. Torpey, she has been instrumental in his improvement in education and truly cares about his needs. She goes above and beyond to connect with him and get him excited about learning (not an easy feat). Ms. Lopez is hands down the best kindergarten teacher, she is great with the kids and goes above and beyond to create a fun learning environment for the students. When we first moved here a few years ago, I was apprehensive about the school but they have turned me into a raving fan.

Very Good school, my kids have been there 2 years now and have made 1000 % positive progress then previous school

We started our children in private school but the cost eventually became too much and we tried charter school but we were not impressed. We have been at Summerfield Crossings for 2 years and we couldn't be happier. The principal, staff, and guidance are all amazing and my children are thriving. I would give this school 5stars and I would recommend this school to any family!

The home work is a continuation of the work they are doing in class and my children are getting extra practice to ensure they are retaining all the information that is taught.

My son has a 504 plan due to his severe ADD and his teacher, Ms. Benoit, has done an amazing job working with him and teaching him in a way that his brain can understand the material and he doesn't feel so overwhelmed.

summerfield crossing has a lot of work to do for me to consider it a good school. first day last year my son took a book to lunch to read and forgot the book, when he went back he found out the lunch lady threw it out!!! a BOOK!!!! the lunch room is a big problem, wait lines are so long that some kids only get 4 mins to sot and eat. my son has come home starving b.c he didn't get to eat his lunch before he had to go back to class. another issue is the ELP after school help, my son went for a little while but i pulled him out b.c all they did was play! he came home with a bag of paper airplanes he and some friends made. this is supposed to after school help for reading and math not build airplanes for two hours.when i asked him about it he said they play a lot. its infuriating! the wait to pick up your kids at the gate is so long! school is out at 215 but they don't actually walk out of the school till 225-230! that's 15 mins of the hot Florida weather, by the time i get them home they are so thirsty and dehydrated! when you asked to talk to the principal or assistant principal they will tell you they are out of campus but don't be fooled i have seen the assistant sitting in her office when i asked to meet with her before. bottom line is if you can send your children to the other summerfield school do it! save yourself a headache

This school fails at being educators. Education takes a variety of forms including discipline, social, and behavioral as well as academics. They talk a good talk and they will tell you have much they like your child and think they are great but when it comes to down to the reality of being adults in charge and educating, they have a completely different action. I was even spoken to about the incidents per child and how proud they were because it was so low (in their opinion). I now suspect that it is low because the remove all children that do not fit their definition of normal. Not every child is the same and when a child falls out of what they deem as normal, they ship them off to another school so they do not have actually be responsible and educate the child. Yes my child has issues to deal with, I am being a parent and getting them resolved. It takes time to help children, I expected the educators to be part of that solution, not to ship them off somewhere else...but that's what they did. We don't have "the tools" to help your child...are you kidding me? What copout. What happened to our schools? If you have a choice, make it another school.

The school staff are always very professional, courteous and helpful I'm very impress. The only area right no which I believe needs little bit improvement. My kids' teachers is great and we couldn't be happier with his educational progress. The school is family-oriented which is something that's very important to us. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for quality education/staff and a safe environment for their children. I would put a Motivated Volunteer program in place to re enforce all areas including the cafeteria which can definitely use some help, the staff there does a good job but their is space for improvement. I been volunteering some time and I enjoy going to the school everyday... I'm open for offering helping hands to my school....
