We will be leaving soon. My 3 kids have issue with each of their teachers and Administration is one sided. It's overpriced for the education they get.

Every teacher except for one or two show blatant favoritism. This summer we have to do summer reading about a book called hiding in the light. We have to use our own money to buy this book and get testing on it during the second day of school. We also have a dress code where boys hair cannot cover their ears. If you break this rule you have to cut your hair off so it is in dress code. Since mid terms at least 4 ambulance have come to our school for a medical emergency. The school has a horrible bullying problem, unfair treatment. During the award ceremony one child won the award for all their classes so she was the only seventh graders to win any awards this year. If you get your phone taken away you have to pay 10 dollars to get it back.
All the seventh graders are required to take gym class and you have to pay $25 for the full uniform. Also we have Jeans day every Friday and you have to pay two dollars if you want to wear jeans. you also have to pay to wear a mics t shirt which cost like $30. Your jackets have to be bought at the uniform store and have them MICS logo on it or else you get dress coded which leads to in school suspension. A jacket also has to be in school colors which are navy blue white, and grey. The Tuition of the school is 10,000 and its pricier every year. This school is a waste of money.

Beware of this school! You will be paying 10, 000 a year for cliques and teachers blatant favoritism of their own children. If you can afford giving large amounts of donations to the school, one can BUY special favors. There is false elevation of academics which leads to lack of preparation for major Universities. There are NO AP classes and only a few Dual Enrollment classes, which will not be enough to get a students AA degree. Beware of ostracizing children out of school if they do not fit in. And they profess to be CHRISTIAN! They only look good on their website. Do your research and find out how many children stay for a few years and transfer to a school that offers better academics or choosing to homeschool because of false Christian attitudes. There have been so many due to the above reasons. Not worth the money.

Man I've been to this school for like a few years and I'm almost sure that they really need to think about switching around the faculty members. I remember when I wanted to talk to teachers about a specific exam they would tell me to find 4 or 5 different people and none of them are in their office when I went to look for them, it's intimidating. They recently just started this new dresscode where after the third violation you would be charged 25 bucks for breaking it again, and they said they're not even planning on resetting the number. I'm not even that mad about this, they're also making you buy new pants next year from where THEY want you to buy them from, SO YOU CAN'T JUST WEAR YOUR OWN PAIR OF KHAKIS ANYMORE, and THEY'RE probably making thousands from that uniform company. They even started that new cougarthon thing where you donate money so that you can dress up the principal or shave a teacher's beard(kind of pathetic don't you think), they said that money is going to improve the technologies, but seriously I don't think they need more ipads, what else do they want? 3d printers?? If they want money they should consider turning off the AC for a little while, because the classrooms are FREEZING every day. Some teachers are okay but others...Overall I wouldn't consider this to be a good school. If you want to get out do it now, because they're enforcing the dresscode next year and who knows what else charity they want you to do.

Excellent private school to carry your child from pre-school through high school graduation. MICS consistently evolves with fundamental changes in academics while maintaining Christian values that help grow your child AND family in the Biblical principals of character, leadership, and service.

Our children have attended MICS for almost 18 years. It has been a terrific environment for all 4 of them. Two are successful in college now, and two are still in high school. The teachers truly care, and the students are thriving in every way.

Our children attended MICS from Kindergarten all the way through high school graduation. One son will complete his degree this coming summer and is a thriving businessman in Miami. The other has chosen full time ministry and is on staff at a local church as the Worship Pastor and Youth Director. He even married his MICS sweetheart! The academics were superior and prepared both children for a successful life beyond MICS, but the spiritual and Godly influence in their lives during their MICS years has been much more far reaching. Knowing that when you send your children to school the teachers become their primary care givers every day, and to have the same Godly principles being reinforced during the school day, as we were teaching in the home was a comfort to us. As parents a Christian education was a priority, and we sacrificed many things to be able to afford private school education. To see God's provision over those years was amazing and we would do it the same way all over again!

I have been going here for 4 years. This school is good. They do great. But, there is just one downside. P.E. has too much stretching.

I have been a public school employee for over twenty-five years, and I can say without a doubt that the students and staff at Merritt Island Christian are a "cut above the rest!" The students practice kindness and consideration to each other and to their teachers. They receive biblical instruction and are encouraged to ask questions about the world around them. The teachers are masters in their craft. Many have Master's Degrees and ALL have graduated from college with Florida Certification. Merritt Island Christian is a safe and nuturing educational facility. I highly encourage anyone looking for the best education for their children to check out MICS!
