Originally, we saw the school's rating and we were not happy with it (5/10). We wanted our child to attend Tyndall Academy; however, after purchasing a home nearby, we decided to choose this school over Deer Point Elementary. We are a mixed military family, and i have to say, my daughter loves her teacher an enjoys learning at the school. They offer a wide variety of events that parents can attend and even provide services for children in military families. Morning drop-of and after-school pickup can get hectic with traffic, but it's not too bad. Additionally, the after-school program bay base takes care of our children and even provides meals, which is a huge help. Overall, I'm happy with our decision and would highly recommend this school.

They work hard with the kids to build honesty and integrity from pre-k up. They use different types of visual and story aids to show kids that all actions have consequences. They are 100% legit on the zero tolerance.

I have two boys at this school. Everyone knows everyone on a name basis. The teachers are attentive, and the staff is great. My sons love their school. They are challenged enough so they don't get bored in class. They really do invest in the children here.

Wonderful teacher's, that have what's been permitted kept Christian morals and values included in their teaching of my child, for the most part. Thank you Teachers and staff for your dedication to my little angel.

I was completely disappointed with this school. I did not feel like they challenged my child. It felt like they were going to a military academy. The atmosphere was very cold and impersonal. There was an incident with my child where another child touched my child inappropriately and we were not notified about it! I found out when I picked my child up from school and was told by my own child who was in tears!! when I contacted the teacher about it, she basically said it wa my child's fault. I tell you we couldn't get out of that school fast enough!!!

Tommy Smith has an excellant regiment going. The teachers are great and their discipline codes are enforced making sure that children can go to school feeling safe and happy. Although they do not have recess they do have some 'free time' which is often spent out on the fields! They also have an hour lunch break which gives them time to relax too. My son never complains about going to school and he genuinely seems to enjoy it there!
