Mowat Middle School

this is the worst school my son has ever been to, and considering he is a African American young man that makes it worse, a young individual threatened to stab my child after an heated argument, and this school has no respect after I told principal and a teacher that was his teacher in the period he was threatened, the safety is horrible and a young individual took a gun to school and threatened to shoot and he hopped the fence and ran away and they lie to us saying it is a small threat when that is serious.

my son came to school and came home telling me a teacher had came to work sick, the next day he was sick and said the teacher was complaining of the same issues he was having with his body.

My daughter went to this school and had loads of trouble she was testing college level but was always in trouble because she was not being challenged so dispite getting 4s and 5s on fast testing she would end up getting bad grades in class because she was constantly being kicked out of school for weeks at a time until I talked to the board of education and then they started trying to work with her finally. They definitely won't do anything to help if you don't go over their head. My daughter was suspended out of school for a week once for looking at someone funny. The teachers are absolutely ridiculous and the office allows this nonsense. Good luck if you have a child that goes here. I have went here since 6th grade the teachers really care about education, Adminstration is very strict and knows when to discipline students without sending them home and not caring, Office staff and guidance counselors are very amazing and caring of the students i would choose this school its the best middle school in bay county and has been an A school since 2001.

I have found that I am very disappointed in the Staff of Mowett Middle School. All my children have went to this school and some has even graduated out of high school, all my children are A students, Some of the teachers remarks to my children for disciplinary I found to be un professional and their rules I feel are a bit strict. Children are not puppets or robots. They are in their most memorable times. Teachers should help children to excel and achieve high goals not bring them down and make them feel incompetent

Both my children have attended this school. The school is average as far as education. Over the past 2 school years it has become concerning as far as safety and discipline.

I have a son who has defeated every odds to include diagnosis of autism, 3 brain surgeries, and several others. He had never been in unmilitary base school setting scared to death for him I decided to try a special autism private school that was horrible he came home and told me mom I'm teaching the class, kids are licking the windows and I just want to go to a regular school. I decided to investigate Mowat and sit down and talk to a counselor about my child situations and if there was anything that they would suggest? The counselor decided to test my son who was midway through 7th grade to see where he was level wise he placed on an 11th grade level which was beyond our wildest dreams being told at the age of 3 he would be a vegetable and not walk or talk but overcame all that, he was placed in all AP classes without anyone knowing anything about any of his medical except nurse, asst principle and his guidance counselor. Best thing we did for our son EVER it gave him a fresh start, challenged him, & just entered High School at Mosley smoothest transition they allowed him to shadow a junior for the end of the last week of school for 8th grade. I could never imagine my son being Mr popular homecoming is next week ????for homecoming court! Thank you Ms Wicker at Mowat and Mr Bullock at Mosley now I know when he gets an A it's not a pitty grade he earned it!!!!
