My dear parents that are listening to this note right now, This school is horrible and unsafe it is super dangerous, inappropriate, and racist and the school has a low budget. My son told me that there was sewage water dripping on kids in the lunch line and the food is raw, my son told me that one girls chicken patty, the meat was so raw that she could of ended up in the hospital so parents if your listening, do not send your kids to Herbt A Amons middle. Instead send them to a school that teaches proper discipline and a good education. The school is not safe for youre children and there is a lot of inappropriate and racist episodes. During a visit to Busch Gardens, we had an unfortunate experience with a field trip group from this school. A chaperone asked if about eight students could step ahead of us in line so she could be with her daughter, but many more students ended up coming through. Soon around twenty additional students behind us were also pulling their friends forward, and the line quickly turned into a large group cutting ahead of other guests.

When several people politely asked that the students not cut in line, the chaperone responded by arguing with the guests instead of correcting the students behavior. When a school brings dozens of students into a public place, the responsibility to manage them respectfully falls on the school and the adults supervising the trip.

What was most concerning was seeing adults model this kind of behavior in a public environment. If the adults responsible for the students are demonstrating this example in front of everyone, it raises serious questions about what kind of behavior is being encouraged and accepted back in the classroom. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled reflected very poorly on the school.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this school. From the beginning, the staff have been disrespectful, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Instead of offering support or understanding, they often talk down to students and make you feel like a burden for asking questions or needing help.

There seems to be no real concern for student well-beingjust rules, control, and judgment. Every interaction Ive had with certain staff members has left me feeling ignored, belittled, or outright disrespected. Its hard to focus on learning in an environment where you feel unwanted or constantly judged.

I came to this school hoping for a safe, encouraging place to learn. What I got was cold treatment, poor communication, and a lot of unnecessary stress. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who values kindness, empathy, or basic respect.

Im extremely disappointed with my experience at this school. From the beginning, the staff were unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful. Instead of being supportive or helpful, they were dismissive, rude, and at times even condescending.

I expected a safe and welcoming environment, but what I got was the complete opposite. Any time I had questions or needed assistance, I was met with attitude or ignored completely. It honestly felt like they didnt care about the students at all.

No one deserves to be treated like a burden just for asking for help. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone unless serious changes are made in how the staff communicate and treat people.

I am extremely disappointed in what is supposed to be the best middle school in the area. While the school may have many academic accolades and achievements the overall culture is not a good fit for my child or family. Teachers are rude and lack empathy/compassion. Things like too bad so sad is just one example of some of the things that have been said by different teachers to multiple students. One teacher even likes to mock her students. Teachers also dont respond to parent e-mails. Additionally, there is excessive homework. If there is learning going on the classroom then the amount of homework that is given is not necessary. Since school has started there have been multiple fights in the spill out and not once were parents notified. I would not recommend this school to future students.

I just came from my son's graduation ceremony and i am very disappointed at the Eagle Award this year. I think that if a student won 8 awards he must be rewarded with the Eagle award. Leadership at this should focus more on rewarding students for their accomplishments, not on their popularity with administration.

All students in that school are educated well on terms such as integrity , honesty , and respect. Many of the kids there understand these terms and use them in daily life.

I have had one child already graduate and I also have 3 children that still attend Ammons. So I feel like I have had my variety of teachers and enough time at the school to give an honest opinion. My oldest went to Ammons in 7th grade. So coming from another school we initially thought this was the best choice. Comparing the actual work ethic I was very pleased. Now, the teachers are a 50/50 some teachers are wonderful. Literally go out of their way to help and educate and the rest are just cruel. I have dealt with teachers being very innapropriate with their comments to the class. After complaints, nothing happened at the end of the day. There is a HUGE drug problem at the school. Police officers were even stationed at the school for a while. NOT ONCE did I receive any notification as to what was going on. I believe that everyone should make their own decisions and opinions on the school. But definitely has not sit well with me.

I am a 9th grader that has graduated from Herbert A. Ammons Middle School. The time spent at the school, was definitely time well-spent. If you are looking for an education that will advance your child to new heights, then the Eagles are the way to go. As the motto implies, all of their children will soar beyond the others. From what I have heard, they have gotten new teachers. So, I am excited to hear your opinions on it.

I am currently an eighth grader at Ammons graduating this year and I can honestly say that it is a great school and if you get a chance to go to this school you should. Sometimes the office staff can be a little difficult but the way to fix that is by being polite and sweet to them and they treat you back the same. The one big downside of Ammons is the way that it is built outside in portables. You would think that with such an amazing reputation that they would have a nice building. It's not an empty complaint I think it makes rainy day dismal very slow and the students are impatient. Other than that maybe the only other thing I don't enjoy is the lunches but it's like any other public school lunch. The counselors here are very helpful and I recommend going to them if you have any issues. The teachers well prepare you for test and I think that this is an excellent school.

Maybe the school is rated with 5 starts by the kids or the parents for those kids that do not work and can stay the entire day in the school, those parents can select the better teachers for their kids or even their kids got selected for sports etc. even without being the best ones in the particular sport... I have seen that in that school. However, for the rest of the kids that get assigned the worst teachers, and in top of that parents cannot complaint because there is not help from the school staff. The school is a complete joke. There are teachers there that are destroying the knowledge of the kids completely... I can be here writing the entire day about the school. Certainly there are worst schools in the system than this one, but this is not the point.... This school is rated higher that what actually is.

The women in the office are atrocious. Beware of the attendance lady, she'll give you attitude and ridicule you for being "sick" and invalidate anything you say. She'll embarrass you in front of the office administration. Some teachers are amazing, others are far from it. Many teachers mock the students.

I have always thought very highly of this school. I have always recommended it to anyone who will lend an ear, and I still will, except for one teacher/subject. Stay away from Drama class unless you are a parent or have a parent who will constantly kiss up to the teacher. My child has been in this program for three years, and this year was bullied by the teacher and by the teacher's crew of preferred students to the point where was pretty much forced to drop out of the yearly show. Speaking of the show, one would think that this teacher would have considered giving the graduating class a fond memory of the program after they have invested countless hours within the three years they participated in it, but that seems to not be a concern or even a thought for this teacher. Most graduating students were left out of the show, where most were given very little participation on or off stage. However, if you happened to be one of her preferred students, then you would somehow (regardless of talent) get a part in it. Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and ethical behavior of this teacher.

I'm currently a student in the 8th grade at Ammons, and I can honestly tell you that it is a great school. Most of the teachers there really care about you, and how to prepare you best for high school. While there are some teachers that seem to give you too much work, they have your best interests in mind, and while it might seem tedious at the time, I promise you that it is worth it. It not only prepares you for the rigorous magnet programs in high school, but also helps you mature as a person. Before coming to this school, I often procrastinated and neglected my responsibilities, but after a year here, I soon realized that I had to be more mature with how I handled y responsibilities. Not to mention, Ms.Perlman is a great counselor, and she's bound to help your kids with any problems they might experience here. The workload here can sometimes be intense, especially if you're taking Biology/Geometry but it's all to prepare you for the dreaded EOCs. The teachers here really do know what they're doing, and while I thought my workload for Algebra & Civics was too much at the time, I realized after taking the EOC that they didn't give us anything we didn't need. Go eagles! :)

Ammons was recommended to us by several people and our daughter is currently in 8th grade. We have not been disapponted in the least. The work load is very reasonable. Students at Ammons know what the expectations are. They work hard but they have sports And many activities to recognize And praise their efforts. Ms. Costa is the best principal we have ever come across. The teachers are fantastic and work great together. The only negative side we find is the actual infrastructure of the school. They deserve an actual building instead of a bunch of portables.

I am a former student at Ammons. The 3 years that I attended there was truely an amazing experience. The education and dedication that the teachers and administration offered helped the students like me to strive and helped prepare us for high school. The curriculum can be challenging at times but the teachers there are more than willing to help you along the way to reach your goal. There are feild trips, clubs, teams, and many rewards for the students allowing them to have an incentive to keep on thriving in their work. Ammons is a wonderful and great school for any child to attend. It is like a huge family who help each other. There is no bullying, prejudice or fights. It is a safe and well coordinated academic environment that anyone from student to parent to community would fall in love with. I strongly recommend any student to attend this school. GO EAGLES!!!!

It has been a great experience having my child attend this school. If you want your kids to go to what is in my humble opinion the best possible Middle School then, look no further. If your child is lucky enough to get into this school then make whatever sacrifice needed but get them here. Just be aware that as a parent you must be involved and be aware of all the requirements to graduate especially if you want the I.B. Certificate which I highly recommend your child strive for. Currently they have a great Principal and Program. The school is very safe as most children here are all serious students and trouble makers or children with poor grades are relegated to their home schools quickly. Going to Herbert A. Ammons Middle School is a privilege so act accordingly. Good Luck!

I am a student at Ammons and I think this is a great school. Sometimes the teachers do give a little too much work, but it prepares you in class. The i.b really helps in the future when youre signing up for high schools. I really do like the school even though it is a trailer park. If you are thinking about enrolling your student in this school you should! The teachers are great and very nice. Your child would be happy to go here, trust me. Execpt for academics, the school has great clubs and teams. The track team and cross country team are absolutley amazing and its a great experience.

I love the school. It works as a community where everybody cares about everybody else. Excellent class environment and the teachers are always available to help you out with any concernes you could have about your kids. The kids have to work very hard and they are always challenged.

I'm a student in this school i'm in 7th grade and i just have to say that there is no better school than this one. the sport teams are amazing they are always defeating other schools. i take honors/gifted classes and the teachers are just so helpful. there is a lot of clubs and activities to do. im in chorus and the teacher is amazing and wonderful. drama will be one of the best electives there is. band is so awesome with the teacher that we have. i could go on about saying the wonderful things there are in this school. but im just going to tell you that there is no better school than ammons

I am a current 8th grader at Ammons M.S and I honestly can't think of a better place to be in the past 3 years of my life! My elementary school was so boring compared to Ammons. There were barely any field trips, the yearbook was stupid, and they barely congratulated us for doing well in anything! However, when I entered Ammons, I felt like I was just so loved by everybody! The teachers, the students, even the administration!!! Ammons is truly a unique place that everybody will immediately fall in love with. Ammons has taught me to take my education seriously, strive to succeed and go exceedingly far in life! Ammons will always be kept in my heart.

Hey! I am a student at Ammons Middle and I love it. There are a few teachers who give a lot of work and are very strict but then you have teachers like Mr. Mullin , Ms. Fletcher , and Mr. Mike for science who are just great teachers and make the class fun. Electives are a lot of fun too. Chorus is amazing it's such a fun class and you really learn a lot. I've heard that art, drama, and all the other electives are a lot of fun too. They also have many activities to help you get your service hours like school beautification day and the walk-a-thons and they can be really fun. The IB portfolio can be a lot of hard work, but it helps you to understand the work you are doing at Ammons and the purpose of doing it. My past years at Ammons have been really good and if you are thinking of coming here, I think you will realize once you go that you have made the right choice. We have a lot of fun activities and classes here that I'm sure you will enjoy so go to Ammons!
