My son loves his principle and teachers. Beautiful tree lined neighborhood of Murray Hill and a community that truly cares about the students success.

My son went to Ruth Upson from VPK 2016 till 5th grade 2023 and we could not have asked for a better experience! We have loved ALL of his amazing teachers and staff. They were the ones who realized he needed to be in gifted and helped guide , support and nurture him into being well rounded in all of his studies so much he made it into James Weldon Johnson College Prep JH. I am very proud to have been a Ruth Upson parent.

The principals yell at kids and slam their things around then act offended when a child doesn't cower down to and respect them. I thought they were supposed to be professionals

We love Ruth Upson! Teachers are awesome, you can tell they love what they do and there are plenty of free after school programs for the kiddos, which we didn't have at our last school. They organize events often too, they're such an active little school and it fits in so well with the Murray Hill community.

My son has been at Ruth Upson since VPK and we could not be more pleased. We LOVE Murray Hill and the changes that are happening in the neighborhood so when it came time to enroll him in school we were thrilled to have such a quaint school so close by. My husband and I both taught in Duval County and professionally I can attest to how well this school is led by administration that cares about the staff and students. Happy teachers equal happy students. There is a lot to be said about a smaller public elementary school where all teachers know all students. We have nothing but GREAT things to say about this school and are excited for our youngest son to start VPK in the fall.

This is our first year with RNU. Since my kid was a transfer student and in need of a speech therapist, she had some adjusting to do. Thankfully, her teachers have been patient and consistent with her education. The speech therapist on staff is wonderful and it shows with the progress that my child has made within her first year there. Although, I do agree with the comments about the rudeness of the front office staff (one in particular), overall my husband and I are very happy with how her first year has been going.

I have no complaints on my child's teachers. So far they have been amazing. The office staff however are the snobbiest and rudest people I've met. They bully the parents and students themselves, so how can you ask them to stop a child from bullying??? The principal would rather tell you to go to the superintendent, than to try and solve problems herself. Not a way to lead others. There are so many first year teachers at this school and I know why. When your leader of the school acts the way she does, I'm sure it's hard to keep the good employees!!!!

Again...... We are new to the school and still developing our opinions. Jury is still out. So far so good though. But it is done in a reasonable amount of time.

It's our first year at RNU but so far it's been a positive experience. We have awesome K teachers, and the resource teachers we've met seem to genuinely love the kids and their jobs. My only concern is the wide gap in the Childrens abilities being met for the individual needs of each child. 18-20 students pr teacher doesn't leave much time for specific attention to a students level of comprehension. But the communication between teacher/parents is better than expected.

This school is amazing! Beyond amazing! Today was my son's first day of middle school (the middle school that the principal Dr Stahlman helped me get him into) however my daughter is still there following in her brothers footsteps as a safey patrol. The staff of the entire school are ALL so gracious and caring. They're like family! NEVER doubt this school! A+

Good School needs more parent involvment. Could have a strong PTA with a solid parent membership. Only set back is too much change but Teachers care about their students.

The environment in the office at Ruth N Upson has completely changed. Mrs Hancock was never as rude and snotty as the women are in the office now. This year has ruined my opinion of this school.

This is absolutely the worst school my children have ever attended! If you don't mind peoples pets being on the PTA rather than parents than send your child here. I will move if I have to just so my children wont have to attend another year at Ruth N Upson. My daughter recieved a lower grade than what she earned due to the fact that she had to use the bathroom! My son was told he couldn't use the bathroom which resulted in him going in his pants. The teachers will interupt the lesson to make students sit outside due to them not having their shirts tucked in.

My family loves this quiet, neighborhood school. We could not ask for a better education! Our child loves going to school and amazes us with the things she learns at Ruth Upson.
