Independence Alternative School

My experience calling Independence High School has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

On multiple occasions, my calls were handled with disrespect and abruptly disconnected. A front desk staff member named Maria spoke to me in an aggressive and dismissive manner, refused to assist with directing my call, and hung up on me. When I called back to ask why the call was disconnected, she hung up again without allowing me to speak.

In a separate call, I spoke with the bookkeeper, Emily. I greeted her politely by saying “good morning.” She responded by saying, “Who’s this?” I repeated “good morning” three times, yet she never returned the greeting and instead hung up on me.

This level of conduct is unacceptable in any professional setting, especially in a school. Parents and community members should not be treated with hostility or disrespect when simply trying to communicate. I strongly urge the administration to address these serious customer service and professionalism issues.

Fulton County School's best kept secret! A school who lives it's mission of "success for all students". My child was just about to give up on school until I learned about Independence. The Principal, teachers and staff are very supportive. I proud to say my child will graduate in December!

While the concept of the school is great, the administrative staff is horrible, namely the counselor. Rude, arrogant, combative, condescending and not interested in helping my child at all....just there for the paycheck and free vacations.....not to mention the no excuse for missing class even if your child is deathly ill! .just say NO
