They dont care about students mental health at all the dress code is horrible they only apply it to females the boy athletes get way more things and money for their sports girl athletes only get money for the field, jerseys, a old pitching machine, socks and the bus ride. School lunch is horrible Ive been given old food but the lunch ladys are kind. Teachers are ok? Ig but we dont get any breaks its usually all go go go we have milestones soon even if we are in the first semester this school. They make everything as hard as possible. And the pe teachers are sexist and treat the boys better only like 2 good pe teachers. This school is and should be -1000000/10 the academic teachers clearly have favorites and some even pick on students this school is bad i would personally not recommend this to anyone 8th grades the best year if your in 7th i would recommend going to online school for the year because how bad 7th is.

We recently moved from Georgia to Colorado. The cultural difference is a shock. My kids new they loved Bonaire Middle but they didn't realize how much until we came Colorado! They miss the students, the teachers, the lunch staff, the band teachers and all! We loved it there and really miss the learning experience and the environment. The teachers are good to the students and I could trust my kids were not mistreated by teachers. They could use more elective class selections but other than that it was a great place and environment. We really appreciate the teachers and the staff there for all they do!

Please disregard the negative review! This school is truly exceptional! Within the first month of attending, my children not only began reading but also excelled in math. The entire staff is outstanding and highly professional!

This school is very discriminatory and its very diverse. They separate and pick and choose which students are the most capable and which are not of doing certain topics, activities etc. especially if your playing sports, they will give the cheerleaders or football players (etc.) more activities to do than a regular student. They also clearly separate African American students, Indonesian, Mexican students etc. from your average Caucasian student. Every time you go in the so called detention room, there is a young black man or women there. They state their kids as CHILDREN when clearly they are young men and women. This school needs to know where their boundaries are and their stopping point is at cause this isnt it. This school gets STRICTLY 2 stars.

This school separates boys from girls, athletes have more privileges, very boring with little to no fun activitys, its like working in a office building with a bunch of middle age adults suffering from depression. The rules they have in place are very stupid there are a few good teachers but over all most suck

My daughter is VERY happy at Bonaire Middle School. Faculty and staff are attentive to the parents' and students' needs. Our school is extremely positive and truly educates the whole child incorporating character building values along with excellent academics. The students took from Bonaire a great education and strong moral compasses - went on to great high schools, colleges, and graduate schools and are successful young professional now. Youre going to get a straight forward education here.

It pains me to say this but I work at the school and the last review is accurate.
It is very disheartening to work hard daily only to have other teachers come to work to flirt and openly have affairs. I loved this school but lately the people who have been hired to work here have brought disgrace on the school

Teachers are role models like it or not. The role models at this school have affairs outside marriage with one another where parents, staff and STUDENTS are exposed to this Parents complained and the nothing was done. Beware.

Teachers having the affairs (thrift ) are suppose to be working with the low kids. Too involved with wrecking marriages of PE teachers to help kids who need extra help.

Very poor. Never seen a place like this where unethical behavior is just accepted. Do not allow your child to attend this school if you are smart. You won't believe what your kid will be exposed to at this school. Shameful

The school culture is one of blatant and unashamed favoritism towards athletes, showering them with special privileges, treats, and accolades while students excelling in other activities are basically ignored. Throw in teachers and administrators who don't know the difference between science and theology and a laissez-faire attitude towards bullying and you've described our experience at this school. The only thing keeping it out of the terrible range is the presence of a very few dedicated, knowlegeable, and caring teachers. Sadly, lack of support from administrators, fellow staff, and the school culture make these individuals largely ineffective.

My student has also complained about the way the teachers speak to the students. When is it ever okay to YELL at and disrespect students? NEVER! They love to give silent lunches because they don't like to hear the students; they get too loud. Hello... they're still children and if they can't socialize at lunch, when can they? My student came home this week and stated that another student (African American) received ISS for not walking on the line... WHAT?! Why are these students being treated like they are in 1st grade? How about engaging with YOUR students rather than giving homework via computer, video lessons, etc. Teaching is a hard job but the teachers in this district make it difficult to support them. Try earning those teacher appreciation lunches! Also, wake up call ... ALL students of color are NOT bad ... be the teacher that encourages rather than discourages. Keep your tight skirts and animal print stilettos at home ....the kids have a dress code ... teachers should too!

This school is extremely unfair to the kids of color. The ISS room is often filled with majority of black kids dues to minor infractions. I believe this school does not like the idea of integration. So they send the black kids to ISs to get them out of class.

This school looks good on the outside but inside all they do is funnel the kids in ISS for MINOR infractions. They are missing out on their class time due to this. Bonaire should have some sort of detention program so the students aren't missing out on Learning time.

This school might be adequate for kids who fall inside the bell curve but if your child has an IEP get ready to be shocked by their attitude towards that. I requested that the principal attend every single IEP meeting but she never could fit it in. She also refuses emails and phone calls. Maybe she will respond if you are important but my child and I clearly never were.

It's not the worse school in the Houston County, but my children are very unhappy there. As a parent, the school doesn't provide much support. Very few teachers are nice, but a lot of them could care less about you or your student or whether or not they grasp any concepts. I couldn't understand why my coworkers would move out of the zone I was trying to hard to get in. It's one of those "I want it so bad, now I got it, not worth it" type deals. I hope Veterans H.S. doesn't disappoint. It looks good on the outside, but once you get in, it's not what its all cracked up to be....

My son attended BMS from 2013-2014 for sixth grade. We had just moved to the area due to a military move and I was worried he would have a hard time leaving all his elementary school friends and starting new. We definitely made the right choice on schools for the area. He had a great year at the school, made friends, there was no bullying, and everyone was for the most part very friendly. The real reason I wanted to write a review was to give some credit to my son's best and favorite teacher of all time. Mr. Harp teaches science class there and from my brief interactions at parent orientation and Jimmy's daily stories about what they did in class Mr. Harp has a real knack at teaching and obviously puts a lot of time into his lesson plans. Jimmy has never been more excited about any class, and I really wish there were more teachers out there like Mr. Harp. From what I heard Mr. Harp even saved a student at lunch who was choking. We moved again this year and science is boring again. Some teachers just don't know how to make learning enjoyable and fun, but Mr. Harp has it down to a science!

My son has been at Bonaire Middle School since the 6th grade. He is now in 8th grade Honors classes. He has had absolutely NO issues at all thoughout his time there. His positive attitude and many friends there has made it a great experience for him. I personally have had NO issues with the office staff NOR communcation issues with any of the teachers.... NOT ONE.

I am a new student to BMS but am from the Houston county area. as a student everyone has been very stuck up and the band program is horrible compared to my old school Thomson middle school. Unfortunately i have to stay at this sorry excuse for a school.

I am a former student. This school is may not be perfect but the band program is absolutely perfect. The band director is very talented, chooses excellent music pieces, and will help your child succeed. She is always kind and definitely makes you feel at home. I went into band not knowing how to play a single note. She has taught me so much over those 3 years. She is very professional and band will be the best thing your kid will ever do. She is a wonderful person and has had a lot of experience. She is 100% devoted to helping your child on their instrument. She is probably the best teacher at BMS. The band program makes BMS a better school. It was an amazing learning and growing process and I will always look back on it as a great thing in my life.
