Honestly, this school has improved a lot since my mother (40 years plus) has gone here. This school receives a lot of bad press because of what the scores were years ago but I know for a fact if you participate, volunteer, get involved and assist with your child at home that your child too will be a light in any school that takes the time to teach child with care, compassion and patience. This school has improved during the year my child attended and I wouldn't trade that experience for nothing in the world. Like all schools there are down falls, the only issue I would like to be addressed in this school are incidents that occur with bystanders, keeping the gate closed to the playground area and notices about any changes that were made during the course of the school year.

My son received homework Monday to Friday majority of the school year for 2017-2018. He liked it because the things that were assigned to him for homework are the exact/similar activities the class went over in class.

I absolutely loved my son teacher. She treated all the children as her own. For my son first experience at a public school in Kindergarten it was pretty awesome. She (Mrs. Ivey) went beyond her task to do things with the kids to get them to remember and learn things. She went outside the box, she even taught me a lot of things. The parent/teacher conference was amazing. All around she made sure that the children were 1st grade ready.

I must admit this was a concern for me because not all kids learn the same and it took time, patience and effort to assist all children with different learning styles but Ms. Dalton figured it out. She incorporated different learning activities in the curriculum that addressed this problem, especially if you are a hands on parent that helped at home.

I think this topic is the hardest to deal with from any school. My son told me about inappropriate touching that went on and their solution was to remove him from the class. This was unacceptable because they basically punished my son for informing me of the incident which isn't fair. I will just say ALL schools would hardly ever get this right.

Forrest Road Elementary is absolutely terrible!! The teachers and staff, for the most part, are great. The curriculum however is beyond lacking and behind compared to other schools. We moved here about a year ago when my daughter was in 3rd grade. Her teacher at Forrest Road was amazing! The schoolwork and homework however was what she learned in 1st grade!! CRCT is another joke! Forrest Road ranks horribly in State Testing and my daughter's class last year, scored terribly on it! I strongly recommend not having an advanced student go here since it sets them back as it has my daughter! The work does not challenge them and sets them up for failure!

Forrest red is a great school. The staff members are always willing to help and go the extra mile. They have just got a new principal who is wonderful, she is always open to new ideas and introducing our children to new adventures in learning.
