My child started on the Cherokee Christian school this year and I couldn’t be happier with it, I already noticed some really good changes on her, she was in public school before. The decision to put her at this school not just brings her a better education but also brought peace at home. Best investment ever.

Both of my children attend CCS. My daughter started in Kindergarten, and my son started in PreK. We have been so pleased with how the school’s mission is genuinely evident in everything they organize and do. The teachers embody that mission in the way they care for, teach, and discipline students to “walk wisely and serve redemptively.”

The school has also made significant financial investments in the campus, including two new playgrounds and a brand-new middle school wing in just the last two years.

I’m especially excited for my daughter to enter high school soon and take advantage of the Classical Flex Model. One note—this website is not currently updated, as the high school now offers two academic options: a three-day or five-day model.

All in all, we plan to be at CCS until our youngest graduates!

This is our first year at CCS ( 6th grade). My kids were enrolled in public school prior to 6th grade. Due to Covid I have not had a whole lot of parental interaction with the school however, the interaction that I have had with ALL the staff at CCS has been a very personable and pleasant experience. My kids are happy, they feel welcomed! I feel as though the teachers want them in their class and I know my kids are not overwhelmed with classwork and homework as they have told me on several occasions that I ask them for their feedback. My kids get real teacher time and instruction based on smaller class sizes. Also, my kids have had no issues so far with any other students and they actually seem to get along with everyone. At night, many of the kids talk on group chats and it's nice to hear them laugh and enjoy each other. I really like what I have seen so far !

My kids had to "adjust" to hearing references to God so much in a classroom environment especially since they were not used to that in public school but they do not feel like the Christian faith is being shoved down their throat either... however, if you are intimidated by a Christian- faith based learning curriculum then maybe this school is not for you.

Our child started CCS as a kindergartener and is currently in 4th grade. She loves the school, and so do we. In fact, she could not wait for the new school year to start, which is a far cry from having to endure public school as a child myself, dreading every first day each year. We have found the school to be a godly learning environment where academic excellence is emphasized and Christian values are both taught and modeled.

I find the negative comments interesting, particularly the ones describing staff and/or methodology as judgmental, intolerant or mean-spirited. Oftentimes, that kind of language is used by non-Christians who do not understand that, while Jesus teaches His followers to love all PEOPLE, we are not taught to be "tolerant" or accepting of bad behavior and pretend it doesn't exist by "not judging" it. On the contrary, we are to call it what it is, learn from it and try to correct it. This is obviously especially important when dealing with children.

If you want a school that is Christ-centered and teaches the Bible without watering it down, then this is the place for you. Highly recommended from this average family who is not part of any "inner circle" .

We have had our children at both public and private schools in the area. We have seen it all. CCS has been the only place that we truly believe our children should attend. While I could gush about this school all day long, the evidence is in the results. High test scores, average tenure of teachers ect. The commitment and investment they’ve made in the people that are there is truly what makes this place special. My advise to anyone looking at the school is to attend an open house and see for yourself. Additionally, I would recommend asking a student what they think. They are the ones that spend the most time there and will be perfectly candid. We’ve realized that you are a product of your environment. Our kids are spending the majority of their day in an environment filled with Gods word and teachers that genuinely love and care about their well being.

We ended up regretting enrolling our children here and, looking back, would have enrolled them in public school. We found the administrative leaders of the school to be judgmental and mean-spirited, behind a smile.

As an only child my daughter has only school and friends in her neighborhood to determine the correct action on how others should be treated. Watching the difference in how she respects and reacts to others in a positive manner warms my heart. It is the teachings at CCS that have helped mold her into a kind and compassionate child.

We have been blessed to have teachers for 4 years now that teach the whole child. My child has learned not only academically but spiritually and emotionally. How she treats others and how she reacts to problems has been an important part of her learning at CCS.

Our family is grateful and blessed that our daughter is part of CCS. We wanted a Christian school that would give her the education most similar to how we learned growing up with the values we were taught when we were young. We are so pleased to see the growth she has made both educationally and spiritually as we partner with CCS. School is an extension of our home teachings.

I am proud and blessed to see other children grow being a part of Elementary Jr. Cheer and see the schools influence on other children at school as well. The academics are premier and the extra curricular activities are second to none at a young age. In elementary school my child is part of not only Cheer but she has been in Drama and Cross Country. CCS offers Music and Arts programs as well as Swimming, Cross Country, Wrestling, Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, Football and more. Small school- BIG opportunities!

CCS has a 100% no bullying policy. To the younger children it's explained in terms they understand. To the high school kids, it's implied that they are too be the examples for the youth. It impacts the younger kids tremendously.

I love the fact that the school I send my children reinforce what is taught at home. When I am at school events I am always blown away at how the high school students act even when adults are not watching. They are great role models for the younger students, and I have seen them taking care to lead them without being prompted to do so.

We love CCS. The teachers are wonderful and my children love them.
There is many extracurricular such as dance, run club, Junior X-Country, Junior Cheer, Art club available to elementary school to go along with the excellent Academics and Christ centered education. This school is based on a Biblical Worldview, which is the environment we wanted for our children. Additionally, the teaching methods ARE traditional such reading, writing, arithmetics, phonics, algebra from what I have seen so far. My son has only made it to the fourth grade so far.

Homework is rarely given in the younger grades (K-3rd), then in 4th ad 5th they tend to have more, but often it is what they could not/did not finish during class time and/or study hall. The Middle School and High School students have a heavier load of homework that you definitely have to schedule correctly.

Cherokee Christian has The Bridge, which helps students with learning differences gain the appropriate skills in order to learn in their classroom effectively. The Bridge is another classroom within the school that works 1:1 with students that are needing the support.

My daughter and I joined Cherokee Christian in the Fall of 2017. My daughter was entering the 4th grade. I cannot think of a better and more well-rounded school for us. She has learned so much academically, mentally, and most importantly her faith has grown tremendously. To witness this change in her has assured me that I have made the right choice. She is happy going to school, happy during the school day, and then seeing her smile again at carpool in the afternoon is more than I could have asked. My daughter is thriving academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually in this loving environment.

Our daughter started at Cherokee Christian 5 years ago as a Kindergartener. The school has been a huge blessing for our family and our daughter has thrived in the academic environment. The academic standards are high, children are taught and shown the love of God daily, and there is a wide variety of after school sports, clubs and programs to participate in. It is not a perfect school as we live in an imperfect world, but it is one of the best I’ve seen. If you want a school that teaches a Biblical worldview, a school that challenges your child, a school where teachers and staff love and pray for your child, a school where is your child is reminded of God’s love daily, a school where the safety of the students is a priority, and a school that genuinely has your child’s best interest at heart, then this may the place for you. We have been a part of Cherokee Christian School for 8 years. Our children have grown tremendously, not only academically, but emotionally and spiritually. The faculty/staff go the extra mile to shepherd and invest in our children. It is not the absence of sin at Cherokee Christian as sin is prevalent in every environment; however, sin is handled in a Christ-honoring way at Cherokee Christian, and God is glorified. Our family has been at Cherokee Christian since 2010. It has been a wonderful blessing to our family! Not only are our children getting a wonderful education, they also are learning more about God. I am so grateful that my children can attend a school where the teachers and administration handle things using a biblical worldview. Our family joined Cherokee Christian Schools in 2010. Our son started 9th grade and graduated in 2014. Our daughter started in 5th grade and graduated this past year. Before CCS they attended public schools with one year homeschooled for our daughter and one year of online school for our son. CCS has been a tremendous blessing to our family in ways we are probably not even aware. Spiritually, they teach a Christian worldview and represents sound Protestant beliefs. We are Baptists and our children were taught not only the basics of the Bible but also taught to understand the why behind their faith. Our children had friends who were Baptists, Presbyterians, nondenominational, Catholic, and Orthodox. Academically, our children were prepared for higher education by quality teaching and sound curriculum. I am an educator myself having spent 17 years in higher education with eleven years as a full professor. I understand academic rigor and what is required for success at the collegiate level. I also understand that the school is only part of the equation and student success is also a factor of the home and the student’s own willingness to learn. Teachers at CCS were patient and understanding. They were supportive and went far beyond anything we ever encountered in public schools. Teachers see parents as partners in education and my children grew to view their teachers as not only instructors but examples and even friends. Socially, our children were able to build lasting friendships and enjoyed a variety of activities. The school not only promotes social events but stresses service which encourages students to work together for the benefit of others. Cliques were never an issue and were strongly discouraged. For the sake of brevity, I will simply say that CCS has been an amazing blessing to all of our family. My wife has volunteered there for eight years and continues to serve almost daily even though both our children have graduated. School should be a safe place to learn and grow. It should support the efforts of parents who are trying to raise Christian children and not a force that pulls in the opposite direction. CCS is true to this mission.

We've only been at CCS for a year and let's just say there's a lot of room for improvement. The teachers aren't particularly personable and are extremely traditional in their teaching approaches. There really aren't any hands-on learning opportunities - everything is from workbooks. This will get higher test scores but I'm worried about my child's ability to both stay interested in school long-term with this approach as well as actually apply what he is learning to real life scenarios. Critical thinking skills aren't bothered with.
Also, the Christian perspective was a selling feature. However, now that we're there, it doesn't feel particularly "Christian." Think of traditional baptists and you'll have an idea of how they approach Christianity. It's not so much tolerance and charity as it is "our way or hell." My child came home crying one day because the teacher had told the class pets can't go to heaven! The kids were in 1st grade - really??
I hope things get better but I don't really see this school working for us long term. Apparently, people leave in droves by high school anyway because of a total lack of sports and an inability for the school to assign less than a couple hours of homework each night. I'm fine with homework but I also think it's important for children to experience sports, social activities, charity work, etc.

My daughter had been enrolled in CCS since kindergarten...she is now finishing seventh grade. At the beginning of 2017 we had to move over 2 hours away. After moving we have been informed that due to CCS policy, she was not welcome to attend lunch visitation or the graduation of her friends. The Superintendent emailed me after we left the school, inquiring about a donation that we had spoken about a few years ago and seeing if that was still in the works...no mention of my daughter leaving or anything, just money. During sixth grade, one of the teachers taught the class that parents will be going to Hell if they divorce, something that had just occurred in my family. My daughter is now being shunned by her "Christian" friends from the school because she is living in a house where a man and woman aren't married. I find it very hard to recommend this school with the judgmental and inclusive attitudes that they teach...but with that being said the academic was superb, it just seemed that the school started focusing on the wrong things, and for a Christian based school where tolerance and nonjudgmental attitudes should be taught, they are falling VERY short. Lastly the school is very worried about how the school appears, wood floors, etc, but instead of putting money into the band programs, art etc it is going to the outward appearances.

Our daughter started in first grade and the teaching and care given to the kids is fantastic, her test scores have been great and her reading is off the charts.

Faculty has been wonderful to work with, everyone wants to see the kids flourish both academically and spiritually. Just a great environment!

I came to Cherokee Christian when I was a freshman in high school. I immediately loved it! I found so many friends and teachers who supported me and challenged me to grow both spiritually and acedemically. I was pushed to be my best and that has prepared me very well for school. The environment there is very welcoming. The teachers are always open to talking to help with anything whether it be with academics or even if it is ubrelated. My point it, I was always very welcome at the school and the teachers and faculty do their best to push students to grow both acedemically and spiritually.

All the teachers I had at the school were very passionate about they taught and it showed in their teaching. All the teachers were both good at teaching and supporting students. They are all very welcoming and open to encouraging students in academics and spiritual growth. Even though I have graduated I am still in touch with some of the teachers. Thy take time to get to know every student and encourage them.

When issues arise, the counselors and sometimes the administration get involved, bringing in the parents when necessary to nip these problems in the bud before they escalate. As previously stated, the students are proactively taught to love and respect others, and the school addresses behavioral issues as they present themselves rather than ignoring them until they get out of hand.

This is true up to a point. CCS has a program called The Bridge to assist those students who need extra help due to a processing issue or learning disability. I cannot speak directly to where the line is drawn in terms of what type of disability is too severe for CCS to provide help.

CCS has high standards for truthfulness and integrity both academically and on a personal level. Through Christian Living classes, students are taught the biblical basis for integrity, compassion, and respect (as well as other Christian character traits) and given assignments related to developing these traits. In addition, each teacher reinforces these traits through their daily interactions with their students.

My kids are learning and thriving academically, yet they are challenged. I like that the school has a tutoring program to assist the students in areas where they may struggle. Also, the teachers are willing to meet with parents and students should the need for help or guidance arise.

I have four children attending Cherokee Christian in grades 10th, 8th, 5th, and 1st, spanning elementary, middle school, and high school. Our family has been here for 10+ years (since my eldest was in Kindergarten) and year after year our experience confirms that we are in the right place. The teachers truly love their kids, pray for them, and correct them graciously, citing God's word as the authority for all behavior. The academics are challenging, and I'm pleased that there are 4 pathways to choose from in the HS, including STEM. The sports programs have continued to grow and there is a wide variety to choose from to cover most any interest. In addition, there are many fine arts electives in the MS and a specific fine arts pathway in the HS. The best parts of being at CCS are (1) the Christian worldview that is taught at every level (verses the pop culture worldview) and, (2) the amazing community of families that you meet!

We are so happy we chose Cherokee Christian for our daughter. She has excelled both academically and spiritually since she started last year.
The teachers are loving but still hold the children accountable for their homework, behavior, and other responsibilities. Homework is not excessive and teachers make expectations clear to the students (and parents).
The school and teachers refer to the bible often whether its through chapel, handling the occasional dispute between children.
I would highly recommend Cherokee Christian Schools.

Cherokee Christian is a wonderful school. My son loves it and I think the staff and curriculum are wonderful. Christian values are given high priority. Children are taugh to be responsible and accountable, while nurtured in an academic and loving environment. We couldn't be happier! Our son is excelling and loving it!

I graduated from CCS in 2015 and am currently studying for my undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech. I graduated from the S.T.E.M. program at CCS and cannot say enough good things about it. The classes I took helped prepare me for college better than I could have ever hoped. While the classes at CCS were rigorous, there was still plenty of time to enjoy extracurricular activities. I was very involved in the sports program and bonded with friends in this way. The friends I made at CCS will be my friends for the rest of my life. I loved the fact that the class size was small because I had the opportunity to get to know everybody. Sure, there were different groups of people who were interested in different things, but I think that was an important part of figuring out who you are as a person and what things you enjoyed doing in highschool. There was plenty of opportunity to experiment and try new things whether it be academics, sports, drama, art, music, student government, etc. One of my favorite parts of CCS was getting to know my teachers. I became friends with many of my teachers through highschool and we still keep up today even though I'm graduated. When you go to CCS, you become a part of a family and you'll never forget the memories you made there. That's why I loved my school and still do!

We attended CCS for a few years. I volunteered often at the school. I was able to witness some behind the scenes issues. I won't go into long details but the attitude of the school is to put fear into the children. There are teachers who argue with students about their beliefs and tell them their family and church are incorrect. Not the place of a school. They treat the parents poorly unless you are one of their chosen ones. The beliefs of the school is pre ordination (Calvinism)and good works. In a nut shell you don't see Jesus while you are here. We changed schools and figured out the academics are behind. We have had to play catch up. The leadership, overall way of operating, and the attitude toward the children and parents need a huge overhaul. I would not send my children here unless there are behavioral issues. When you interview you may fall in love with some things you are told or feel good after talking with the admissions lady. But soon as you are in, it all changes. We gave it an honest try....but it is not a good place to be!!

CCS has been my home for almost 10 years now, and every year I've grown to love it more and more. I'm proud to say that I've gone to this school since kindergarten and have never even considered going to another one. This year was my first year of high school. I don t think I ve ever been so scared about starting a school year. Now I ve been in high school for about half a year. I won t lie. It s HARD. I have to work really hard to keep my grades up, and sometimes I get really stressed, but more than ever, this year I ve realized how amazing and godly the teachers are, and how willing they are to talk to you if you need advice or help or just an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. High school can be really tough, but all of the precious moments I ve had at CCS make up for that: the deep, heart-to-heart conversations I ve had with teachers, the quiet mornings in Praise Band where it s just me, our small, 5-person band, and God, the special talks we have in Bible class (which is more like a Bible study than a class). Honestly, I don t think I ve ever felt closer to God than I have this year. If you re looking for a school to go to, please try CCS. I guarantee you won t regret it.

It s my privilege to wholeheartedly recommend Cherokee Christian School. In considering CCS, my wife and I wanted our daughters to attend a school that would challenge them academically and help them prepare for college. CCS has done a wonderful job providing that very thing. Our oldest daughter is now a freshman in college and doing very well, due in large part to the excellent instruction and preparation she received at CCS. We also wanted a school that taught from a biblical world view. The school does an excellent job here as well, both in the high school with our oldest daughters, and in the elementary school with our youngest. The truth of God s Word is woven through everything that s taught. I am profoundly grateful for this! Other things we appreciate about CCS are it s well-qualified, concerned, and involved teaching staff, it s extra-curricular activities (particularly the fine arts department), it s hands-on school board and excellent headmaster, and last but by no means least, it s helpful financial aid program. Here s to Cherokee Christian for doing an excellent job at what its name implies: being an outstanding Christian school!

Both of my children have attended CCS since Kindergarten... we've had a total of 6 years experience with this school thus far, and have no plans on leaving any time soon. Both of my children have had their share of learning challenges but all of their teachers have always gone above and beyond to help us deal with those struggles. Our children have really thrived there. In addition, the relationships we've made at the school as parents has helped change our lives. We truly feel that our children are receiving a Christ-centered education surrounded by grace and people who care about them tremendously. I encourage anyone considering CCS to visit the school, speak with staff members, and talk to other parents. I cannot recommend this school enough. I can't imagine my children any where else.

Dear Parents, Thanks for checking out our school on greatschools.org. Over the last 15 years, we have enjoyed many wonderful reviews by parents who couldn t be happier with our school. However, the openness of social media and a website like this one can also be a place that you will find frustration, anger, and even hateful speech. My inclination is to defend the school by giving the reader enough detail to blunt or neutralize these kinds of verbal attacks. However, that would not be practical or appropriate. Instead, I will make this statement: Our school will continue to encourage and exhort students to behavior and attitudes that honor the Lord. I am grateful that most students respond to that kind of shepherding in a positive manner, but when a student continues to engage in behavior that is not God honoring, despite a great deal of time and effort invested in the student, we will do what is necessary to uphold the integrity of the school and the student body as a whole. Not the same school it was years ago.. I have had two children attend the school for over 13 years and the school has lost its soul. What started out as a good christian based school run by caring professions has experienced a devolution in to a very Judgmental and uncaring environment. The original staff that built the school has either moved on or has been pushed out to non-influential positions. They have been replaced by a more radical and fundamentalist brand of Christian. Needless to say Catholics, Orthodox and mainstream Protestants will find their theology distasteful and even insulting. Having said all that the academics are still above average. Class sizes are small, tuition is reasonable but their are far better schools for your child to attend.

CCS is an awesome school. The staff is caring and nurturing. The school has a strong academic program that keeps its foundation on Christian beliefs, not a world view. The middle school is especially amazing. The kids are taught and loved on in a sweet environment. I have not seen or heard about any of the bullying or clique issues found in nearby schools. The kids all seem to get along great and work together as a team, accepting and including everyone. Moving into middle school has been a non-event for my children as they entered from 5th grade. Our family has attended CCS for 4 years and plan to stay. We love the school and all that is represents. Superior academics from a Christian worldview. You will love CCS if you take a tour.

dont believe the fake reviews. Three years ago, I attended Cherokee Christian School for one semester and had enough of it already. The way the socializing went about was just ridicolous. They made me feel welcome for about two weeks, and then after that made me feel like I didnt exist for the rest of the school year! Everyone who ive asked thats gone there says the only way to be 'cool' is to go there for two or three years and then you will have friends. The hypocrisy. The teachers and staff get way into our personal life and business, and some of the rules are completely unneccessary. Also, wearing a uniform gets old quickly if its not your thing. The amount of work and some of the curriculum was alright but Bible isnt a recognized course. I came into the 2nd semester and they refused to let me take Spanish class because I didnt 'sufficiently learn enough required'. So I had to make a year of Spanish credit up in the next High School I went to. I had one teacher and one staff tell me I was doing well, then the next day they had a meeting with my mom after school saying I was 'being lazy'. The only thing Christian about this school is the chapel days on Tuesday. Dont recommend.

As a formal student of CCHS and CCS after reading these reviews I am taken back at how ignorant the parents are pertaining to the actual school. The school is full of favoritism, cliques, and useless faculty. I would NOT recommend sending any of your kids to this school, ESPECIALLY the high school. There are far better academic and athletic opportunities elsewhere. One of my fond memories of this school was being forced to pick weeds out of a dirt patch (all of the high school had to do this). With promises that the dirt patch will later become of some use, only to have weeds grow in it again which made that day of unnecessary and un-academic labor to be put to waste. I would rate the faculty as a 2/5, students are a 2/5 because they are cliquey and quite frankly at the highschool level there is an aurora around them of not wanting anything to do with this school (for good reason). The actual education is a 3/5 and the athletic program is a solid 0/5.

I started kindergarten at CCS. Elementary school was great and I loved my teachers. Middle school was great too. Then I got into high school. Many of my friends left before freshman year because they had heard bad things about the high school. I tried high school and even was in the STEM program. As the year progressed my frustration increased. The teachers were not at all helpful. Many cliques formed and I felt like I had almost zero true friends. Also the STEM classes seemed to just be regular classes, nothing special. Also the academic counselor was a joke. She never made any effort to talk to me. I even asked about dual enrollment and AP classes. I changed schools after that freshman year and I am now at another private school. The teachers are so much more helpful and the academic counselor actually helps me. Also everyone at my new school is sooo much nicer than at CCSAdditionally I will be attending KSU through dual enrollment next year which I find to be very exciting. Overall CCS was good for a bit, but I do not recommend the high school.

My daughter just started at CCS this year and is in 5th grade. Before CCS, she was attending public school and I can't tell you what a blessing this school has been to us both. As a single mom raising a daughter, I had to take a look at what type of people she had around her that influenced her life. Public school was not allowing her to become a Godly and compassionate young woman. CCS has been life altering and my daughter has really been filled with love, tenderness and compassion for others. She never comes home with anxitey or drama like she has in the past. We are SO thankful that we chose CCS......best decision I could have ever made for my child.

My family and I moved to Marietta in the Summer of 2012. We chose Cherokee Christian School because of the S.T.E.M. classes and Christian environment. So far my education has been great; I feel that I'm getting the most out of my classes and that my teachers truly know how to teach the material. Thanks to this school, I got the opportunity to go to Valdosta over the Summer for the Governor's Honors Program for Mathematics (and I was accepted). My counselor has been very helpful in my college application process, and I've already applied to Georgia Tech for early admission and plan on applying to several other colleges. I'm planning on becoming a Math major at Georgia Tech and I feel lucky to be part of such a strong Mathematics department.

I am a parent of a child at Cherokee Christian School and a teacher there as well. It is a great place to teach and work. I feel very blessed to be able to teach where my child is in such a loving atmosphere where teachers go out of their way to be sure their students are successful. My child loves CCS and her teachers have been amazing. I can not imagine her going anywhere else. She is challenged academically and loved all day long.

I am a sophmore in high school at CCS, and I've been at the school since 3rd grade. CCS is an unbelievable school, and I am so blessed to be able to attend. I have loved going to this school ever since the day I started. Everything is taught from a Biblical perspective, and everyone there is like family. The teachers are all so enjoyable, and each one has made a big impact in my life. I've heard new students testify that it doesn't take long before you feel like part of the CCS family. We are all taught how to apply our Christian beliefs to what we are seeing and doing. We are taught about the world's past in order to help us make right choices for the future. The education I get at CCS is like none other, and I have an extensive knowledge of the Bible thanks to my many amazing teachers. There are so many courses offered, and multiple extracurricular options. When I walk through the hallways of CCHS, I feel loved, safe, and surrounded my a good group of Christian buddies. No, we're not perfect, and we have our days, but we are taught to work it out in a way that glorifies our Savior. CCS is my second home on earth and I could not give it a higher recommendation.

I am in 8th grade and have been attending this school since 1st grade. There is no way to describe what his means to me. I have grown to love everyone at the school and I don't know what I would do without them. Every teacher teaches from a Biblical perspective and cares about us so much. The teachers strive to have a loving, personal relationship with each and every one of the students in my class. The love that surrounds me at this school can only be a God-given blessing. I cannot say how much I would give to stay in CCS until my last year of high school! It is such an amazing experience and has a major impact on my life. Now that I am in middle school, there is more freedom, but that doesn't at all mean that the teachers care less about you. In fact, they care about you even more, because they want you to succeed in everything. They strive for a personal relationship with the Lord and make the subjects fun and exciting (yes, even math and physics!). I want to shout out to all of the teachers that I have had. We knew long before we had children that we wanted a christian education for our children. When it was time to look at the closest christian schools we knew Cherokee Christian would be on our list. We are local to the area and had seen the school grow. We attended an open house and were sold. We met a couple of teachers and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Our children are now in the 4th and 2nd grades and we are pleased with the school. They both have only known CCS.

Cherokee Christian provides not only the Christian-based foundation that I want my child to build on, but they also have teachers and a curriculum that gives superior results, and a parent base that supports the school and the students. Every teacher is committed to working with your child one-on-one and giving individual solutions for any needs, whether it is academic, social or emotional. As an example, my son was allowed to stand during portions of the class, so he could focus, rather than fidgeting in his chair. As another example, the teacher addressed instruction with the children on treating each other the right way when those normal childhood uglies were coming out. And I am always impressed with the academic background and additional training that the teachers have and the ways they work on academic issues with my children. Finally, almost all the parents are represented at almost every function. That makes a tremendous difference. It's a great school and a great group of people!

Great school for academics and has a wonderful Christ centered atmosphere. Teachers are wonderful and truly care about the students academically and spiritually. The sports program is lacking. If you have a child that is athletic and competitive you may have to find sports else where. Would love to see the school not only expand the athletic program but invest in paid qualified coaches. Otherwise, CCS is a wonderful academic, Christ centered, affordable school that my children love!

Cherokee Christian School has been a blessing to my family. I like to say that I'm getting 3 for the price of 1 because my husband and I are learning and growing along with my little boy. They are organized, great communicators that know how to focus on academics and safety while sharing the spirit of the Lord and loving my child. I consider the choice of Cherokee Christian School to be one of only a few decisions that I've gotten right. Family members that didn't understand the need for private school can see how my little boy has grown and now fully support the choice of private school. We began in Kindergarten and I pray that we will be there until the end. Every school should have the spirit of Cherokee Christian School.

Our son started the STEM program this year (ninth grade), and it is proving to be a great fit for him. This is only his second year at CCS, but he has made some great friends. My children have both attended CCS since Kindergarten. My daughter is now a freshman in CCHS, and my son is a 7th graders in our middle school. This is my 7th year teaching here at CCS. I can honestly say that I have loved our experience here, both from a parent's viewpoint, as well as a teacher's. The teachers at CCS truly love the children. I have always said that I know three things without a doubt: My children are safe. My children are loved. My children are taught the Word of God on a daily basis. Cherokee Christian School has helped me grow as an individual and aided me in discovering myself. I have attended for 2 years and I have built amazing relationships with the students and staff. Before CCS I had been homeschooling, so as you can imagine the change in environment was drastic. The teachers made sure I was welcomed and helped me in every way they could. I cannot say enough good things about our school. My children have attended for several years and each year proves to be one of positive educational and spiritual growth. We appreciate the staff- from the administration down to the teacher assistants, we feel that everyone has my children's best interest in mind. Keeping in mind there are no 'perfect institutions' in an imperfect world, we know that the staff at CCS strive hard to create an atmosphere of strong educational opportunities alongside individual spiritual growth. I can say whole heartedly that Cherokee Christian School is wonderful. We made the switch from homeschooling our 3 children to traditional schooling with trepidation. Would the teachers be compassionate? Would my children be able to make friends? Would the influences be positive? Would the curriculum be challenging enough? What a joy it was to find Cherokee Christian! The teachers were very compassionate and spent extra time with my children to make sure the transition was smooth. The godly character of every teacher I have come into contact with is clearly evident. They were ready to help in and outside of class. My children are challenged to push towards excellence by their teachers and their friends. The students were very welcoming, good friendships formed. I did read the previous post about the lack of AP classes. I have not found this to be true. This year there are at least 13 AP classes that are offered! The STEM program in particular is very rigorous and those students are very well prepared to study at any of the Engineering and Tech colleges! Cherokee Christian School is a grace filled arena for academics, peer interaction and service to others. We are very pleased.

If you like close-minded teachers and cliquey students and parents, this is the school for you! Unfortunately, I met kinder and more welcoming students/teachers at public school. They do not offer AP courses, options for classes or teachers, or many extra extracurricular activities . I hope you choose something better for your child.

With very high-strung cliques in the students AND parents, it is by far not a "Christian" school. With the small number of classes offered, students are limited on what they can study. There are no AP classes or dual enrolling. Many of the teachers were wonderful, but not all. All of the students might seem pleasant at first, but that will change VERY quickly. Many of the students I dealt with were not even able to wipe their own backsides without their parent's help and the others were spoiled brats who had grown up extremely sheltered. There's countless different sects of Christianity. Majority of the teachers attend the same church and have their set of beliefs and that's fine, but they need to understand that majority of students don't believe exactly what they believe. For me, public school was made out by the students and teachers to be a big and scary place that was full of terrible and stupid people when in fact, I found people to be kinder and more welcoming than in the "Christian" school. I attended the school and I'm simply posting my experience and I can wholeheartedly say that I met better people and learned more at public school.

My son graduated two years ago from Cherokee Christian. I started him there in the 6th grade and his younger brother still attends. My son is now in his second year of college, pre-med, honors student with a current 3.96 GPA. Cherokee Christian gave him the skills he needed to succeed in college and he continues to flourish. The students that transferred out to their local public schools (due to financial obligations) that were friends of my son's all graduated with honors. The teachers are always there to help and are good Christian mentors. Mr. Lee is great (and Mrs. Lee too). If you are thinking about sending your child - don't hesitate.

My daughter graduated from CCS in 2008. Last Saturday we celebrated her graduation from Reinhardt University (debt free!) with a degree in Science, Spanish, and English Education. CCS prepared my daughter 100% for college She received over $80,000 in academic scholarships. She maintained a 4.0 GPA and tutored other college students. She speaks 4 languages and is headed to China to further her studies. The teachers(missionaries IMO) at CCS are amazing. My only warning is CCS is not composed of perfect, super spiritual students. If you want your child to have a fantastic education then this is your place.
