This school has been nothing but trouble since day 1. They dont have enough food to feed the kids that go there. Kids have 4 mins to eat lunch because of the bad design an time management throughout the day. If you have a problem they will ignore you an not do anything. They lie, but they make sure athletes are taken care of. Construction worker hanging outside girls locker room while they change clothes. Just dont put your kid in this school unless you want to hear everyday of some other issue they wont fix an then send emails mocking those who stand up for their kids

The dedication of the teachers and staff to academic excellence is outstanding, providing a challenging yet supportive environment that has allowed my child to thrive. The diverse extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities have truly shaped her into a well-rounded, confident individual, while the sense of community at RHHS fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere. This school has instilled values of hard work, responsibility, and compassion. I couldn’t ask for a better place for their growth and success.

I relocated with a child in high school. She was previously attending an award-winning school from another state. My child had an extensive behavioral history and IEP which included mandatory school counseling. Richmond Hill High School refused to follow her IEP. I reached out and went up the ladder. In response, they unliterally changed her IEP so they didn't have to follow it as they "didn't see a need" for the mandatory school counseling. The previous school district had her for 5 years and her IEP was carefully created but Richmond Hill High School decided it "wasn't needed" immediately from enrollment on. Shortly thereafter, my child got into a lot of trouble as her history repeated itself. It was a tough year. I've heard from many other parents that the school is terrible when it comes to children with an IEP. This school is probably great if you have an average child that doesn't need any kind of help. Ironically, this is the "best" school district in the area which is sad. Their "best" is simply mediocre and terrible if your child has an IEP.

When it comes to child safety, this school falls drastically short. I have found that they ignore bullying issues particularly when it comes to students with IEPs and 504s. The bullying here is out of control. I scheduled meetings with admin only to be told that my concerns were unfounded even though there was video evidence of my bullying

The administration at this school is the worst. Teachers get away with intimidating students and cursing at them. When confronted they back the lying teacher and dismiss the student. They only care about the students who parents have money and spend an much time and money for the school.

Unfortunately, the real problem lies in this school's lack of social and emotional support due to the high levels of bullying. I do think they have good academic programs that lead their students to success. The problem is that the bullying is so intense that many students are left behind and struggle to participate in academic programs. Where I feel this school falls short is in a supportive administration that looks out for its students.

Our daughter has been in RHHS for the past four years and has enjoyed every day! Her guidance counselor, Ms. Bunyan, has been a pure Godsend that has directed her in the correct path all four years. The overall majority of the teachers care for the students and have provided an exceptional education for my upcoming UGA student. RHHS offers a large selection of AP and Honors classes that have allowed for higher levels of academic achievement. We could not be more thankful for the entire staff at RHHS and the Bryan County Board of Education that has set a spectacular example of how to carry on throughout a pandemic.

Terrible. Councilor and Administrators do not solve problems or work with parents to solve issues. My kid had been bullied and they did not even consider our request to change classes.

As a military family, we have been to several schools. Both of my children were fortunate to attend RHMS and RHHS. They did wonderful here! I never had any issue that was not easily resolved, whether it be with a teacher, or any other issue. Staff was very responsive. I am very pleased with this school.

There was only one teacher at this school that took any interest whatsoever in my daughter and her needs. Being military and moving frequently she was constantly the new person. As noted, only one teacher gave any assistance and that was not even in the first year she attended.

There is a very strong good old boy attitude in Richmond Hill. If you come into the district, example....our child is military dependant…..she was not made to feel welcome or included. It was very difficult for her and she had to work extra hard in every endeavor.

I feel the school had no leadership. The same good old boy mentality of a southern town. If you were not born there or did not have a wealthy family....you really were not welcomed or helped.

It is awful that these kids have to take exams AND state tests. That is TOO much and unnecessary. Since the EOC is a make or break and counts against your grade, it should be counted as an exam.
Also frustrating that the kids aren't able to wear basic athletic shorts. They are anything but inappropriate and it's what the kids have been wearing for years. It seems like a really silly battle!

In my 4 years at this school I have had class with 8 teachers who were wither fired, "transferred", or quit. My education is spotty at best because of this.

If you have an issue or concern you need not bring it to the heads of the school as it will do no good. They will listen to your concern & then sweep it under the rug but tell you they have dealt with it.

We are a military family and moved here when my son was starting his Junior year, hard move! He THRIVED in this school and when he graduated he said his only regret was that he didn't get to do all 4 years here. He started off playing football that summer before school started and his senior year decided he wanted to spread his wings and do drama club and young republicans. HE LOVED IT! There are MANY clubs for the kids to join which is nice if they don't want to play sports. This is an amazing community. Probably the best place we have ever lived and the best little town to raise children. I didn't realize towns like this existed! We LOVE RH!

I am very disappointed in this school. We moved to Richmond Hill because it was suppose to be the better school in the area. We were let down! Most of the teachers are great and seem to care about the students but the administration and counselors are a different story. They are never available. I have been trying all semester to reach my child's counselor but he has never returned any of my phone calls or emails. My child has not even met with him and he is never available to talk. When I addressed this issue with the assistant principal her response was, " I'm not sure what school you came from but he has over 600 students to look after." That is unacceptable! That is his job! I was told by other frustrated parents that if you are not from this area or military your child can easily slip through the cracks because they do not care. They figure you will be gone soon anyway. Funny thing, they get government funds for every military child enrolled. If you send your child to this school you need to advocate for your child so they do not get left behind.

This is not as great a school as I had hoped. Let me first start off with saying the teachers for the most part are GREAT. My son struggles and has a LD though and the school is on a block schedule. They go at a VERY fast pace and it is hard for my child to keep up bc of this. Very long class periods as well. Counselors are only minimally helpful. Class sizes are also very large at 30 kids per teacher. School doesn't have the technology you would expect either. Can't wait to move and get back to a standard schedule of 6 classes. There is some bullying and kids are disrespectful, but it isn't an issue for my child. If you have a child that struggles to focus in school or has a LD I would consider a different school. Once your child is in the block schedule you are basically stuck to finish off he year since online schools,etc don't follow that type of schedule. It would also be a HUGE problem if you have to move in the middle of the year.

I've been in the Bryan County school system my whole life and I honestly hate it. This school fails to bring to light the racial issues that plague our hallways daily and it is absolutely ridiculous. This school is very unorganized and changes teachers and classes much too often. Our athletics are okay, but they are biased to just the football team. This school places too much emphasis on sports and dress code more than they do to academics, bullying and actual problems. Basically, if you do not play a sport, you do not matter. If you or your child is a minority like myself, I strongly advise you to not make them go to a school where there is daily unnecessary prejudice. I hate this school and I know exactly why people kill themselves from being in an environment similar to this.

I graduated recently (class of 2013), and I can confidently say that this high school is loaded with opportunity. They added 5+ AP courses just last year. There are tons of clubs and did I mention the AP classes!?!? The new principal is looking to further improve this school, so look out! By the way, this school is disciplinary superior to the Savannah schools. Everyone is well-behaved.

Absolutely without a doubt one of the best, if not the best high school's in Georgia. I am the parent of a an 11th grader currently,senior next fall, he has struggled all through school, he is learning disabled.I have met or talked with many teachers,counselors,coaches,principal and assistant principals the last two years.I never left the school thinking anything less than impressed,amazed at how they do it and thankful my child is enrolled in one terrific school.Student enrollment for the 2012/2013 year is/was 1901 teenagers.The teachers,staff and coaches respect these kids ( for the most part) and from eveything I've seen, the students(for the most part) return that respect back.Most, if not all teachers take a personal interest in each students success, and how they do that with 1900 kids, I don't have a clue.Never hear of drug issue,gang issue,nothing really.Most kids are involved in a sport or band or ROTC, something, and all these activities are taught or coached or managed by some of the most dedicated,hardworking caring people I've come across in quite some time.I truly believe that kids see this dedication,see the sweat,hear the compliments and feed off that. I LOVE RHHS

I've been graduated from the school for almost 3 years. The staff can be a bit strict, but there were always some teachers that stood out among the rest. They placed more importance on education than discipline. The school prepares you well for college. Where many other college students struggled, I succeeded because my high school prepared me enough for the future. The football team was mostly terrible, but all the other sports teams were pretty great. I didn't like the school very much while I attended, but ultimately I am glad I stuck with it. Preparing your children for future education is extremely important, and I'm glad my parents had me attend this school system.

School is blessed by good demographics in South Bryan County. On average, wealthier and better educated parents than most areas of Georgia. This allows the school to coast and not put any extra effort into education. The district is more of a good ol' boy style of governance. That is why the faculty and administration at the school is all white despite a more diverse population. Also, they value athletics over education. They recently hired two coaches with no education training to teach classes.

Richmond Hill High School is home to about 2000 students and goes from 9th grade through 12 grade. We moved here when my son was starting his Junior year. He graduated in 2016 and says his only regret was not being able to do all 4 years there. This school is very involved in the community has theater, drama club, young republicans, young democrats, and TONS of other clubs and sports. The Marching Band is PHENOMENAL! They don't do a homecoming dance which I found odd, but they do do a winter formal. By far the best school our kids have attended.
