I was told by the Special Education board that everyone wants to get into this school, but I was literally begging to get out. Front office staff is extremely rude and when I complained to the Principal, she did nothing and allowed the staff to be petty towards me. The kinder autism class is even worse. The teacher is passive aggressive towards the kiddos and has the paraprofessionals doing her work. I had to speak with paraprof every day during pickup to find out how my child was doing in class because the teacher wrote me generic daily reports. The only GOOD thing I can say about the school is they don't allow just anyone to get on campus, so children and staff are safe.

Great teachers and staff. Love the way that the school promotes student agency in leaning so that students can guide there own learning and interests by incorporating it into their lessons.

This school was very understandable and took there time to make sure every student had the best learning experience possible. This school was easy for me to make many friends due to the fact they many clubs and other things in that sort for students to interact.

Homeworks are to the point and reasonable. I like that the kids' folders are clear on what tbe homework is.

Great teachers. Patient and effective in helping kids learn. They catch the kids strengths and build on them while addressing areas for improvement with kindness and compassion.

The IB curriculum is Aamazing. Teaxhers are great role models. I honestly love LFH. My 10 year told me 2 years ago, Mommy you know what I like? Every teacher at LFH treats us as if we were their own children." And that's exactly my sentiment and it tickles me to see that my child could feel that too.

The Leadership is hands on. You have the sense that no job is too small for anyone there. They Principal and and Assistant Principal know the kids by name.

My daughter stutters. Words can not describe the care and commitment that LFH staff put into meeting her needs, supporting her and the things she wanted to try but could be challenging because of the fluenxy issues. Honestly words are not enough to describe the LFH spirit. Someone mentioned that staff xared about people with money. Well I don't. I have been a LFH mom dor 5 years now. I'm praying that God bless my child with teachers as loving and qualified as the LFH crew.

Zero tolerance for bullying. Kids may be kids but this is NOT tolerated at LFH. Kids are taught kindness and conflixts are addressed promptly. I know because I have witnessed it.

I am sad that my 5th grader will have to leave at the end od this school year. Praying that God bless my child with LFH type of teachers. So grateful. Great great great school in every way.

We love LFH!!! Both of my children have attended this school and have been supported and challenged. The teachers and administrators are amazing. Wonderful neighborhood school.

I love the IB curriculum that is taught at this school. I believe all schools in the county can benefit by doing this.

My child has been very successful with the quality of education at this school. I fully disagree with the last 2 comments from disgruntled parents who probably was making the matters worse and not better.

I give my experience 5 stars. Besides the magnet schools this is the top public school in the county. The negative parents that made a post need to take a look at themselves and see what they are doing wrong.

The teachers have been known to tell the kids to shut up and they wont amount to anything. They walk around with constant frowns and they are still around. The students talk about the personal home lives of these teachers that are not optimal. If they know about it, then surely the leadership should. IT affects how they do their jobs and they should seek counseling, not take it out on the children. The leadership does not do not do anything about how the students are treated. The teachers are allowed to bully the students and the leadership supports it. You can meet with the administration but nothing is done. Just a whole lot of I understand, I agree, head shake yes I value your kids and then NOTHING changes. Its no wonder the rating of this school has gone down. I refused to let my children return. Their self esteem is worth more.

Students are not only bullied by other students without consequence, the teachers and administration bullies the students too. Steer clear.

They don't give too much homework to overwhelm. They give just enough to practice.

Some of the teachers are effective. More of them could be effective if they did not have bias toward certain people based on color and economic status.

It is hard to develop these attributes when you aren't modeling them yourself. This school clearly lacks in integrity, compassion and respect. They have their favorites. They are picked for everything all of the time. Mostly its the students with the parents with the money.

This school has clearly dropped in quality as the overall rating of this school reflects. It was once under CT Walker and now its way down in quality and education. The teachers and administration are not reflective of the demographic of students. This shows in how they interact with and educate the students. Do yourself a favor and find another school for your children to attend. This one will tear into the esteem of your child.

This new grading system is overwhelming. There are too many standards reported on the progress report and report card at one time. There should have been more teacher training on the standard based report card before it was rolled out to the 3rd grade. I think the standard based report card should be used for k-2 only. The Specials went from giving most students a grade of 100 in the old grading system to now a 3. Parents get no evidence of the score reported on the report card and progress report card. The Specials show no evidence for how they arrive at student grades in Infinite Campus. They just report a score. I think this is so subjective.

She is quick to hold a meeting but it just to cover her self. At the conclusion of the meeting the teacher is always right no matter how wrong they are. You are left with a feeling that she is not putting the welfare of the student first but the welfare of the teacher.

Homework takes too long to complete. My child can't get to the resource cites like I-Ready and First in Math because the teacher assigns too many worksheets to complete for homework. Sometimes my child has an entire textbook page of math to complete (24 questions). This is too much for one evening.

My overall rating of this school is a two. The teacher and staff demographics are schewed and not reflective of the demographics of the students.

Teachers have seen my kids weaknesses and have strengthened them TREMENDOUSLY!!! My daughter went from a 3 grade reading level (below where she should've been) and she is now above a 5th grade reading level.

I absolutely love this school!!! This is the best school in Richmond county outside of the Magnet schools. My kids are currently going to this school. The teachers have been great! Areas where my kids have struggled academically the teachers have gone above and beyond to strengthen those areas. The front office staff have been great! I have been enjoying volunteering and helping out every chance I've been available and the teachers have grately appreciated it! I'm only giving LFH a 4 star rating because there are a few teachers that NEED to retire or teach middle school. Some I have seen yelling at kids EVERY time I have been to the school Or are very militant. Besides a few bad apples (they are everywhere) it's an amazing school!!!!

My son in kindergarten was not happy here at all, the whole family dreaded it. The way he was treated was not what I would expect from so called educators. The principal, office staff and his teacher acted like no one had ever dealt with a 5 year old boy misbehaving. We dealt with phone calls everyday, suspension, not to mention the ridiculous and embellished write ups. Really, they should be ashamed. Give a kid a chance. With no school officials offering help other than sending him home everyday we finally withdrew him. It wasn't worth him being scarred for life. Now the principal is coming to Columbia County...where we are now. Oh boy.

I was told LFH was one of the best elementary schools that Richmond Co. had to offer. I would advise you to apply to the magnet school. Parent involvement is only for some parents; tried to volunteer, but never receive a call/text//email back & I tried numerous times. Spanish program is good. Principal is a fake. Teachers get on to students for their disabilities even when they have medical diagnosis.

PCSers BEWARE! My kid's were lucky and had good teachers, but that was definitely the exception and not the rule. From yelling at students in the hallways to the "cheese-eating grin" they wear when they snap at you for not having a visitor's pass (despite the one you are clearly wearing on your shirt). I'm told this is the best Richmond County has to offer and that I'll probably have better luck in Columbia County...I guess we will see.

I had two daughters attend this school. It was a safe nurturing environment with good parental involvement. This is one of the best elementary schools in the area and the IB program will only make it better.

I have had a child at this school for two years now, and I am very impressed. I visited more than one school and interviewed staff when we were selecting a school, and this school stood out to me. It is small enough that the teachers and principal can and do learn everyone's name and take a personal interest in each student. The teachers I have known so far are dedicated, hard working, and eager to do what it takes to bring out the best in their students. This school was recently approved as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, thanks to the leadership of the principal, the hard work of the teachers, and the support of parents. My child loves it there, and is thriving and learning. I think the quality of education at this school is better than the Great Schools rating reflects.

This is a great school with awesome faculty and staff. They encourage parents to be involved and appreciate any and all support parents have to offer. LFHE is a rare gem in Richmond County!

We pcs here in the middle of the year so that was a hardship for my daughter however the staff and her teachers made her feel welcome and had her loving to go to school again. Her teachers were very nice and brought her up to speed where she need to be for her grade level.This a great school and i hope it stay that way but more parents need to help out and not only come if their child is in trouble.
