This is our 2nd year here and so far, we have had a good experience. My son has had great teachers that truly care about the students and what they're learning.

The principal and assistant principal both need to be replaced they have created a prison like environment my one child used to love school before attending here and now absolutely hate school after going here the classroom teachers have been amazing but the administrators completely ruin this school it is absolutely time for new ones the principal herself is stuck up rude and over all just an unpleasant witch

The teacher's we have had at Carver have had good communication with parents for the most part however if you have to deal with The Principal and/or Counselor on the other hand not so much. Even when you acknowledge the busyness and responsibility, you will and do not get the care, time or communication back from them as you should. I would never expect a same day response, maybe even a couple of days however you have to constantly ask for an update. If you email, only expect an email back that states " they will call you", but they will not call. If you show up in person, you will likely be told, The Principal is off campus. No follow up after that either. Talking with other parents, even prior employee's it is noticeable the admin side handles the situations to cover their self and staff, not necessarily how or what is best for the child or family. You have to be your children's advocate for sure! It is clear that there are excellent teachers who truly care and it is also clear that some are just doing it for the paycheck.

Overall the School has been okay to our children. There are definitely a hand full of excellent teachers.

The school does not care. The BOE is a joke, they ket the Superintendent decide on everything. Bullying occurs and nothing gets done. Please stay on top of the school district and believe your child. We moved here because the schools were rated great. Elementary there is no problems, teachers are really caring.

If you have a special needs child, I suggest picking a different school

Staff doesn’t take ownership if they made a mistake, they blame it on another staff member

Good luck at this school if your child has an IEP

I rate my experience and my children's experience very poor.

Posted: November 2, 2019

Students are issued sufficient homework for the week to reinforce what they are learning in class.

Posted: November 2, 2019

My son had an altercation with another student, and he was bitten by the other student and his teacher neglected to send him to the nurse. Instead she had my son do laps around a field as a punishment. It took another teacher to see my son crying to send him to the nurse.

Students are not learning to be fair.

Posted: November 2, 2019

Administration needs to supervise teachers better because If the teachers are giving consequences to students for their actions than administrators should not be penalizing the children more with detentions or suspensions; this is double jeopardy.

Posted: November 2, 2019

My child came home multiple times stating that the teacher would not allow for him to solve math problems any other way than hers. This is not differentiating learning.

Students do have to speak up to both parents and staff, which isn't a knock on the school. They can't read minds and need to be alerted. Once they are though, they have a level headed approach and clear communication with parents.

So far, pretty content. My issue isn't with the school so much as the district. I feel like the super is more interested in test scores and puts pressure on teachers, admins and most importantly, students to perform well. Also, the emphasis on sports in this district is overboard, but that could just be a Georgia thing. The BOE and the Super need to get more creative with their approach to education. They don't exactly inspire students to be curious or creative. As far as the people I have interacted with, they are compassionate and seem to really have the best in mind for students. I've had interactions with my kids teachers and the administration....both positive.

Poor. Ineffective, outdated values. Needs administrative overhaul.

Teachers go above and beyond to support their students' social, emotional, and academic success. Carver goes above and beyond teaching the content.

Teacher has kept in contact with me and provides help when needed.

My daughter attended this school for two years. Her 4th grade year was great. Her 5th grade year was seriously lacking, since she had a teacher who was apparently too overwhelmed to send grades home in a timely manner. I am an educator myself and had high expectations of this school after a great experience at Richmond Hill Elementary. This school is a lot of "hype," as is the district. Touted as one of the best----as someone in the field, I wasn't impressed to say the least. I am currently searching for another district for my child to attend middle school next year. It's worth a move, if necessary.

We have been in the Richmond Hill schools for 3-1/2 years with the past year at Carver Elementary. All of the schools are exceptional. Carver's physical facility is not as new as the elementary. Otherwise it can't be beat. All of the teachers are committed to their students. They go above and beyond to assure a quality education is provided. Mr. Schultz, asst. principal, has been wonderful when needed. He is warm, funny and the kids love him. PrincipalMorales has been an outstanding leader for staff and the 1000+ 4th and 5th graders that attend Carver. We continue to live in this community for the schools. They are second to none.

Terrible school. We are military and have lived a lot of places, and this school is BY FAR the worst. My son has hours of homework every night, and the situation hasn't changed after a multitude of conferences. The front office administration is RUDE!!! I have never experienced anything like it, she talks very condescending to both students and parents. Very sad....

Carver is a wonderful school. The school could be cleaner but overall it is excellent. I have attended 4th and 5th grades here and have had a great experience! The staff is really nice and helpful. The events at Carver are fun and exciting. Mrs. Morales, the principal, and Mrs. Blanton, the counselor, have both been very nice and helpful. I like how the teachers have helped me improve where I need to. Overall, Carver is an amazing school and I highly recommend it!

We have been very happy with the school - no problems with dress code or admin staff and have had great teachers.
