The leadership in this school is unstable and changes frequently which is why the board runs the school. I would not recommend Highland to anyone wanting to pursue higher education.

There is so much free time in high school that there is zero homework

Teachers are not able to teach the curriculum, instead they will pass out handouts and you self teach yourself.

If you mess up at this school or are a troubled youth, they do not work with you. You are out.

The principal cannot make any decision without the board's approval. The board is hell, fire, and brimstone with zero grace.

I love this school, my son has been here for 2 years and is in the 5th grade The classes are small and the curriculum is great - the teachers are effective and caring. Yes and they have more homework than all of his friends in public schools in our county (which doesn't make him to happy, but I love it)! As a parent, I love the diversity and how the children interact with each other. The parents really support the PTO and its activities - Great school ...hands down!

Amazing teachers and staff!! The teachers go above and beyond to pour into each student to achieve academic excellence as well as character development. Coming from a public school, the curriculum was harder, but the kids are making better grades all credit due to the teaching staff! They have a genuine interest in each student, pray for them daily and truly see their purpose here on Earth. Amazing School...

Can't say enough about this great school. My eldest graduated and completed college with some of the best tools to finish successfully with honors! She served as an intern in her senior year in her hopeful career field and was hired for the job after completion. My youngest is involved in sports, literary competetions and community service projects. My children have access to art and music..HCA is one of two schools in the state that offer Korean classes.My student has earned the HOPE scholarship through this amazing network of teachers and staff that seem to go the extra mile to meet both of my children's needs! As a parent, I have full access to my child's grades and homework, and test schedules any time online. The best quality I see at HCA is how the teachers truly care for each student! Bible classes are available to help my child grow spiritually as well as academically. I am thankful for the one on one relationships with teachers and staff at HCA that motivate my children to strive for God's best and to make a difference in the world. What more could a parent ask for?

I've had two kids graduate from this school, and college was a breeze for them. They were completely prepared for their higher education experience.

The interest level and curiosity generated in my kids was beautiful! Sometimes I'd hear about it for hours after school. That can't be faked!

I've seen Christian standards upheld here for 15 years. The lessons and morals we teach at home are taught daily at the school.

I can only talk about 2 of them really, and they are extremely ineffective. They say they are skilled but what skill does it take to have kids memorize pamphlets and watch movies. It's lazy teaching.

The school does only classwork. Very few books are brought home and there are no true study assignments.

Their Bible class was a person handing out a pamphlet and telling the kids to read it. When put on the spot and asked a question the teacher would tell them to read the pamphlet with no real discussion. A shame really.

The teachers have no real creativity and use Georgia's version of common core for high school. One would think that a private school would offer something different and maybe a bit better than what is being offered in the public school system. There is no real teaching going on at HCA it's more of a "here remember this worksheet" and "watch this video" style of teaching. The kids are left bored and unchallenged.

Highland Christian Academy is a great kindergarten thought 12th grade school. The elementary department uses the ABEKA curriculum and the middle and high school prepares students for college with a college prep program. HCA also offers a variety of sports including basketball, softball, and baseball. Students are also involved in the visual and performing arts and compete in local and Georgia Independent School Association competitions. Highland students have won several math competitions at Valdosta State University. Seniors are offered the opportunity to intern with local business owners in an internship program. One student actually served with House Representative, Amy Carter as an intern. Nurturing teachers hold at a least a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college. Most of all, teachers love their students!

While this school is new to me and my child, SCS provides a caring environment for the students; the academic setting is challenging, but not frustrating; and, the staff is simply great! My child has thoroughly enjoyed the past months.

This school is awesome! My kid loves it and learns so much every day. With the small class sizes and dedicated teachers, this is a great place to send your children.
