I am extremely disappointed with the way Bloomingdale Elementary has handled my daughter’s safety transfer.
A safety transfer was submitted for my daughter, and the principal initially denied it. After I raised concerns and it became clear that the school did not have the authority to deny the transfer, the situation still has not been resolved. Now, despite knowing the circumstances and the severity of what my daughter is experiencing, the school has failed to put transportation in place so that she can actually attend the school safely.
I have repeatedly explained how serious this situation is and the impact this ongoing uncertainty is having on my daughter. She is experiencing significant emotional distress, and this situation has contributed to a mental health crisis for her. Instead of working with us quickly and appropriately, I feel like we are being passed around and that the school is unnecessarily delaying a solution.
Parents should not have to repeatedly fight for their child’s safety or beg a school to follow through on a transfer that has already been determined to be necessary. Transportation should not be used as a barrier after the school has been made fully aware of the circumstances.
I expected communication, urgency, and compassion from the administration. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. My daughter deserves to feel safe at school, and I am extremely frustrated that something this serious is being handled this way.

We have had both our kids attend school here for four years and they have loved it. It is small, so it is not overwhelming for the little ones. I have felt the one on one communication is good between parents and teachers and Apps are a good resource, but notices could explain things better. The teachers, in my experience, are great.

The Principle, Mr. King, is really great and easy to talk to if you ever need anything. The councelor is also fantastic. "Most" of the teachers truly care. I have to mention certain ones...Mr. Lawrence, Mrs. Waters, Mrs. Linblad...a parent can not say enough good about these teachers. They are a Blessing to each and ever student at the school. We are very, very fortunate to have them there. The office staff is also great!

All 3 of my children have attended Bloomingdale Elem. I have been nothing less than pleased. We have a fabulous principal, who truly cares for the students there. I have been so happy that I would not pull my kids out, even if we hit the lottery :)
