Before I provide a review, I think it is important to give context to the journey it took to get to this school. At first, my wife pointed out this small school (MCAA) to me years before I ever heard great things about it. We initially had our daughter attend Addison Elementary School, but we did not find the core leadership to have enough equity in its ranks to comprehend the diversity amongst its student population. We decided it was best to transfer her to a more culturally conscious setting. Therefore, we moved her to Mountain View Elementary. The school was more befitting than expected and hit all the right marks on this front. However, I had the end goal to buy some time here until we could be accepted into one of the few STEM certified Elementary Schools at the time. I thought this would help accelerate our daughter into the growing wave of parent STEM sentiment to instill right into your children for career security. Nevertheless, we were fortunate to be accepted into MCAA as out of district. The school is structured very well and I attributed this to the principal, Dr. Patterson. She is a relentless "present" leader to the point where you will see her daily at the end of the day for carpool, saying hello and managing it. The school is small, but it is super packed in with resources, numerous fun and educational field trips for students throughout the year, and even makeups when things go awry (weather related). The staff always look involved and caring. My daughter has attended all 3 years and as we near our last term, I am sad, but extremely grateful for the support she received, friends she made, and the school for being a well run oiled machine where you cannot see or feel the rust ever. The work in this school is challenging and though my daughter was not in the gifted program, I can only imagine how much more rigor there would be in this setting. If you have the opportunity, at least check out the school, meet some of the staff, and keep an open mind to the small, but powerful punch this school packs in helping your child exceed a little farther than they even expect themselves.

My two daughters go here and are thriving. Both are extremely smart but learn differently MCAA teachers catered to both learning styles. Though the curriculum is challenging its not overwhelming. The entire faculty and staff are awesome and they love this school!

I have had two sons go through MCAA - both very different kids with different learning styles and they both thrived at this school! There is rigor but nothing that overwhelms the students. The children genuinely enjoy being there as do the teachers and staff which is evident if you walk through the building.

Challenge is what they need and this school gives them exactly that. We're so at home here with the best teachers. We were lost and even tried to run to Texas but luckily, my princess was selected and is now enjoying school.

Awesome school! All four of my children attended MCAA starting the first year it opened! They have been very successful with high school and college. All three of the older kids got accepted to every college they applied to and are pursuing their dreams . 2 of the older 3 are pursuing careers in Engineering. One is at Georgia Tech for mechanical engineering. The other one is trying to decide between Georgia Tech and Mercer University for Industrial engineering . The youngest is about to enter Marietta High School in the fall in the pre-IB program and the engineering pathway. The second oldest is planning on getting his masters in history education at KSU. MCAA pushes the limits for all interests and sets a very strong foundation for future success.

MCAA continues to amaze me and my family. This is truly a place where students love to learn and the entire faculty and staff are on board with the mission and values of the school and make learning a priority. Success is celebrated throughout the year, expectations remain high and students are thriving because of it. This is a phenomenal school for students who are hungry for knowledge and thrive in a loving yet challenging environment. Best academic decision we've made for our son.

My child was part of the first 3rd grade at MCAA and is now a senior in high school. Many of the children in that first 3rd grade are in IB and advanced courses at MHS. They remain a close knit community; something that began at MCAA and carried forward through middle school and on up to high school. This school has dedicated teachers, students, and parents. Does this school require stamina? Yes! But it is worth it.

MCAA provides a stellar education. Gifted students are taught by amazing teachers. The administration is stellar. Everyone cares deeply about the students and parents. The close community the school fosters is unbelievable. We will be forever grateful for our experience with MCAA.

Not only is my daughter being challenged academically, she is loving every minute of it. I have no doubt that she will reach her maximum potential at MCAA. MCAA offers an independent school education at a public school price!

love, love, love this school! My daughter thrived during her 2 years at MCAA with the appropriate guidance and enthusiasm from her teachers. Mrs. Throop was fabulous! she is truly dedicated to her students and it showed in her actions every day.

This is an amazing school, that is the only word to describe it. The teachers are excellent and dedicated to each and every student and their needs. Administration is very responsive. My son has flourished in this school and I see a huge difference in how he feels about learning this year versus his previous year when he attended one of the top East Cobb schools. The curriculum just makes sense, he is not overloaded with homework, yet he is excited about learning and has learned so much in the past year. Technology utilization is wonderful! MCAA is the best!

My son was fortunate to get into the school at 3rd grade. This has been such an awesome experience that I wish this school could go all the way to 10th grade. The principal & all the teachers & staff are so dedicated, you can see it everyday. My child loves going to school everyday. Great job MCAA!

THE FIRST STEM CERTIFIED SCHOOL IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA! THE HIGHEST OVERALL TEST SCORES FROM 3RD-5TH GRADE IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA! Need I say more? The students and the teachers at MCAA are incredible. With the diverse ethnic population amongst the student body, students get interaction with like-minded academic peers from all over the world. The teachers are well engaged with both parents and pupils, creating a cohesive arena for open, honest interaction. Most of the staff members are very friendly and are quick to address any needs or concerns. Our Principal, Mrs. Hernandez, has been very active in keeping MCAA on the cutting edge of technology and other learning avenues. The PTSA board seems to work well together and does a great job with all of the projects they have undertaken. I believe they even have 2 or 3 Dad's that serve on the board, which is almost unheard of. It is vital to our children that they see their Dad's taking the time to have an important role in their education and as parents we are happy to see them step up and take charge. While other incredible academic opportunities have been offered to our daughter, we couldn't imagine her being better off anywhere!

We LOVE this school!! The teachers really help to take your child to the next level of education. There are so many opportunities and whether it is reading or math/science, they will be challenged and we really needed that. Our child's favorite subject is reading/language arts and NOT math and the teacher's have really helped to make it enjoyable and excel in math/science.

MCAA is nothing short of amazing. The principal, teachers, and staff are top notch and truly care about the students. The word advanced is not just a mere adjective. It truly describes the level instruction being delivered. If your child is academically advanced, bored with traditional education, or has a love for Math, Science & Technology then this is the place for them to grow, excel and be challenged!

We've been at MCAA for almost two years and are absolutely thrilled with the school. The teachers are fantastic. They challenge the kids but do not overwhelm them with excessive work. They do a lot of work on line and really follow through on the technology aspect of the curriculum. The teachers are also avaialble in the morning to assist the kids because sometimes homework is so different than what we learned as parents. The school is diverse and this is a great way and age to teach our children about acceptance of all people. The best thing I believe is that all the students are there by choice. Their parents have all made the specific decision to send the child there to learn. There is no bullying, no riff raff - it is simply a safe, caring and exceptional place to send your child to school. Also love the uniforms!!!

I attended Marietta Center For Advanced Academics(MCAA) a few years ago. I must say that the skills and lessons I have learned, and the friendships and memories I have made are priceless. I was sad when I had to move to a different continent after I had completed my time at MCAA but I was extremely grateful, I still am. I took photography classes before school and was an ambassador after and I loved every thing about it. MCAA is so special because it allows you to learn, while still having fun. The cultural curriculum is really nice and recess allows children to exercise. The school enjoys the book fair's presence every year and every year, the whole school goes on a camping trip to Rock Eagle. MCAA gave me many opportunities and I hope it will for you too.

We are just about to wrap up our first year here and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE MCAA!!!! My son comes home everyday excited about learning and this school has helped my child blossom in so many ways. It is challenging and rewarding. I wish it went on until the 12th grade because I am starting to have panic attacks myself wondering where my gifted child will go after 5th grade.

Parent for third year. Every city should host a school taking MCAA as their model. Only wish they had this environment for these kids up to high school. Gifted program, science lab for each grade from 3rd, tech fair, math fest, science olympiads, adv math classes, school clubs, school store and the list grows each year... Excellent principal, teachers and staff.

The school would recieve an excellent score from me but school politics and the traditional WASP infrastructure still exist here. Think traditional southern school + laptops.
