My two kids loved going to McClure. They never wanted to miss school even when they were sick. Teachers are awesome and tons of parent interaction.

I love this school for my kids. I have three here. The staff has always been amazingly supportive, inspiring my children to achieve the best they can do. None of the three of them have ever experienced bullying, and my boys are small for their age. My daughter was on the receiving end of a vulgar comment by one of the students, and the staff and administration were quick to act. This school is top-notch as far as I am concerned. I can't believe their rating is not a 10.

So my daughter has had a horrific time for all three years at this school. Not only does she get attacked and bullied by the students she gets harassed and bullied by the the staff members of the school. They have not helped her with any of her issues that is going on in the school she gets blamed for things she didn't do. And also she gets told because she is a bigger girl that her clothes are wrong or she should wear a garbage bag to school from the staff. If you don't have to send your child here don't. I'm sorry for the students that still have to go her. I'm sad for my son who still has to attend this school. Would not recommend. Very hateful staff against the students unless your a skinny girl or super white.

Where to even start oh my goodness....I honestly can't think of anything good to say. Admin doesn't care, too many kids, carline is absolutely miserable you will waste hundreds of hours of your life sittinf in carline if your kid is a car rider but wouldnt recommend the bus. They definitely give grades but that's true of all public schools now. The things I saw in my short time there were appalling. Took my kid out in 6th grade best decision I ever made. Wouldn't recommend this school to any one and that goes for the feeder school Bullard as well but only bc of the admin. Why are so many public school administrators such weak minded people?

My son just completed his 6th grade year at McClure and I cant say enough about how amazing the school has been. The AC classes provided a challenge that he was missing at the elementary level. Academics at this school are very high and the teachers expect their students to be able to complete work in a timely manner. I am very impressed with how respectful and responsive the administration team was this year, especially Mr Stanley, the principal. I have no doubt that my son will continue to excel in the next 2 years he attends this wonderful school.

I am a student at McClure middle school and I sadly can not say that this school meets expectations. I can say from personal experience that there are several teachers who treat certain students with less respect and kindness than other students. I can also say that some teachers ar McClure dont treat students with respect at all. Certain personal needs can be ignored, such as using the bathroom, eating, talking during designated talking time or even blowing your nose or getting a bandaid. McClure has quarterly talks with students about striving to be the best school in cobb county, almost degrading other schools in the district. We are asked, at these grade level talks, to perform at our highest ability just so we can take the lead as the best school in cobb county. Faculty members are sometimes harsh, and not understanding towards students who have let their grades slip or get a bad score on a test. Faculty members, including one of the principals, have cussed and demeaned students for bad behavior. Of course, some students behavior is bad but as adults you shouldnt take out whatever the students have done, considering they are still learning right from wrong and are literally kids. McClure holds high standards for their students but most of the time cannot even meet the standards as adults. Kids are given loads of class work, homework, tests, quizes, and even projects to do in classes, sometimes all at the same time. it is an unrealistic standard set for young teenagers to be expected to accomplish all these tasks, while maintaining a perfect grade in all your classes. Students such as myself also feel that their needs for things are ignored by teachers and staff most of the time. Mcclure also rarely deals with student problems. I watch many people get bullied every day, and I myself have even been a victim of it before. However, nothing is usually ever done to help the victim of rude attacks made towards their personal appearance, popularity level, or smarts. On paper, McClure is a great school you would want to send your children to.

We cant say enough good things about MMS. We moved over from a neighboring community and our middle school experience has been so good. Our students are being challenged with a robust AC curriculum. The academics at this school are very high and expectations follow as such. We have been very impressed with the administration team and with the overall organization of materials and communication. We feel that our students are well prepared to excel at their feeder HS based on the foundation provided at MMS. Dare to be a Maverick!!! We love MMS.

The best middle school experience. The school provides fun activities to help with social skills. A lot of school spirit. Homework is reasonable. Teachers make learning easy and fun. Teachers are understanding. Diverse student population. Student able to express individuality. My child feels excited to go to school everyday. Mr. Stanley, Mr. Stanford and Mrs. Shannon are amazing administration. The principal deals with any issues immediately. They make the school feel safe. My daughter feels at home here and she doesnt want to leave to go to high school because she loves it so much.

We've been happy with the quality of teaching by this school until recently. Milestone testing are coming and the teachers announced to the students that they can opt out. My kid came home and was begging to opt out. We were shocked! We have never heard of a school giving the option to opt out of a test. The parents were not informed but the kids were which pretty much guaranteed that they'll want to opt out. What's the point of these milestones if the choice was given to kids (not parents) to choose not to do it. All of my kid's friends have opted out which is not surprising. Very disappointing.

My son is a student there and he having a great time there. He has made lots of new friends there and the other students are nice and talk to him in positive ways or mind there own business. Bullying is not a problem there and the teachers are very kind from what he is telling me. I highly recommend sending your kid there.

Teachers are incredible at McClure... however every single person that works in the front office are the most unfriendly group of ladies. They are snarky, not friendly, and they all seem like they are miserable working at that school. My husband and I have not yet had a pleasant experience dealing with the front office. Especially the one lady that checks the kids in and out of the school... she is not a nice person whatsoever!!!!!!

This is our 2nd year @ McClure; and we are very pleased with the experience. The teachers are awesome. They keep us (parent) in the loop with our kid's school progress. This is great in that it takes the village to educate a child. Administration has been great. They stick to the district polices and inform us of any concerns that come up. The environment is warm and friendly and the students are quite pleasant.

Overall, the homework balance is just right. There are some nights where he gets quite a bit (1-2 hours of math), but there other nights where he doesn't have much homework.

I've been happy with this school thus far. My son started 6th grade this year and is in mainly advanced content (AC) classes. He has been appropriately challenged and has to work hard to do well. He has enjoyed extra-curricular activities and the general climate of the school. Other parents that we've talked to have a similar view, which is good. We want our son to be challenged in school and to have his critical thinking skills tested and improved.

This school does have some really good teachers but the administration is so unprofessional and inexperienced. My child had an incident in 7th grade my husband and I took to the administrator but the assistant principal refused to let us ever speak with the principal. And the principal never returned our phone calls or replied to our emails. So we decided to let it go. This year hasn't been any better! My child was injured (head injury) during the Olympic games and was told to sit outside (high 80's) on the bleachers. The teachers never checked on my child after that and after a few hours my child complained of feeling dizzy and needed to go to the office. I finally received a phone call from the nurse around 3:00 stating my child was injured and I needed to come pick up. The nurse said she wasn't sure why my child was just now coming up there, but they must have still been playing in the games. My child said that wasn't true and didn't play after the injury. The school was obviously trying to cover themselves... All I can say is thank heavens my child didn't have a concussion and is going into high school next year!

This school has been great, the teachers we very helpful. While I expected it to be a bad transition to 6th grade it was anything but. The teachers helped my daughter while challenging her at the same time. They when out of there way to be there for tutoring and clubs. Love this school! They offer numerous incentives so the children want to be successful.

I unfortunately must agree with the negative comments. This is not the same school as it was in 2011/2012. I believe the change is due to having several new and inexperienced administrators who seem overwhelmed. These administrators also appear to be intimidated by the few marginal teachers they have. The school does have good teachers, but they do not have the attention of the administration. The focus is on these marginal teachers rather than even the students. It appears that the students don't really matter here anymore. I hope that they get things turned back around. It was such a nice school.

Well 6th grade was a nightmare, the homeroom teacher Campbell could care less about transitioning the kids. 7th grade has been better, but still a constant battle. The teachers are overloaded and when they make a curriculum change the school board isn't making sure that the teachers are prepared. The teachers don't communicate with one another at all about the workload.

I must say, "Is my child in the same school?" Because I have experienced nothing but apathetic teachers with no courtesy for the students or parents. They appear overworked and underpaid, therefore shotty teaching ability. I cannot wait to get my child out of there.
