Lake Joy is a great school with quality teachers and administrators. The environment is nurturing and kindness is something you will see everywhere in the school. From the lunch room to the front office, I am always greeted and treated very respectfully. Art is my child's favorite and the Art teacher is very kind and encourages creativity through many engaging art lessons. The PE teacher is fun and my child enjoys the games and activities she participates in. The Music/Chorus teacher is warm-hearted and caring as well as knowledgeable in her curriculum. The front office staff is personable, yet professional. My child's teachers have always been fair, firm, and have had high expectations for excellence in learning. I love Lake Joy and I feel blessed that my child attended this school for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Lake Joy is the BEST school in Houston County!

Absolutely! Developing honesty, integrity and fairness in students is an everyday practice at Lake Joy Elementary! From 8:30am to 3:30pm, we as parents rely on our children's teachers and administrators to continue molding or children in our absence. I'm proud to have such positive reinforcement behind us!

We are so lucky to live in Houston County and have our children attend THE BEST public elementary school around! The teachers, administration and staff are absolutely amazing! No matter your child's grade level, special need or where your child fits academically, there is a loving & helpful place. We could have moved anywhere in the county and chose the Lake Joy Elementary district for their proven track record and excellence! They have the best test scores and teachers to back them up! If you are looking to give your child a head start in life, I urge you to look no further than Lake Joy Elementary School!

We recently moved and my child loves her new school. She said she feels safe and comfortable there. Her academic progress has been great. When we were considering this school, the administrator gave me a tour and was very welcoming.

Lake Joy Elementary is an awesome school. The administrators, faculty and staff are very professional and really care about the kids. The school's focus is not only academic achievement, but character development as well. The school is also very accepting of students with disabilities and does not tolerate bullying/teasing. As a teacher in a middle school that LJE feeds into, we can always tell which students come from LJE...the training LJE provides makes them stand out from others. The students are generally well-mannered, disciplined, and accepting of others. Love this school!

We really cannot say enough good things about this school. The teachers are top notch and the Principal ensures a healthy environment for everyone.

We moved to the area for my work at Robins Air Force Base. We have been very pleased with the teachers, the facilities, and the kids. The lunches aren't necessarily the most nutritious, but part of that goes with living in the south where everything is fried. The children are well-behaved and polite. Like any school, a lot of your experience depends on which teachers your children end up with. We have experienced 3 different teachers now; I would rate 2 of those teachers as very good, and the other as just okay. The school is new and well-kept. My only complaint about the facilities is that they chopped down all of the trees. Now really, who wants to play out in the 100 degree, humid Georgia sunshine with no shade? Apparently my kids do because they never complain about it.

LJE is a Great School! My son attended 3 - 5th grade, daughter currently in the 3rd. You wont find a better school anywhere in GA! The Principal is top-notch and I think he knows every kid's name by heart! He keeps them motivated and they are excited to come to school every day! The music and drama programs are probably the best in the state and you will really be impressed by the Music teacher! The kids really like him and he is an excellent instructor! The Media Center Specialist (Librarian) treats all the kids as if they were her own and they all love her! She keeps them constantly motivated and energized and excited about reading! Principal & Librarian really support the county's AR (Advanced Reader Program) and the kids always do well! You wont find more dedicated teachers/staff anywhere in the nation! (Only detractor would be the ART department, teacher was knowledgable, but didnt quite meet my standards,showed favoritism to her own son on several occasions, but I guess she couldn't help herself....) (One thing you have to realize about GA Schools is that the curriculum and how it's taught is mandated by the state so the teachers don't have a lot of leeway...
