Our daughter has attended since 2020 and she had flourished! Her reading and writing and great and the teachers engage the students to learn by doing things not only regurgitating facts. We are happy that our 2nd daughter will be attending soon!

WES was WONDERFUL for my son.
Unfortunately, we did have to pull him b/c of a LD. However, I think admin is WAY better now than a few years ago. The "newish" admin is caring and loving. The principal before literally hung up on me. Not kidding the gentleman HUNG UP ON ME. That would NEVER happen with admin now.

They kicked my child out after four months knowing she had difficulties and then bullying me into signing a waiver to say I voluntarily took her out
My daughter has suffered so much for their unfair decision

As long as you have the money!
Although there were a handful if teachers who really were genuine, and after the expulsion of my daughter told me how the system really does work in Woodstock
Of course it is super elitist, which works when your rolling in money, and only wants the rich kids

I wouldn’t know as they didn’t give my daughter a chance to settle in the school
She was asked to leave after just four months against the wishes of most her teachers and all her friends

I was promised that we would get the support my daughter needed
I was so relieved to hear all the right words! Nurture, encourage etc
However, i was not kept in the loop as promised, and no reports received
As my daughter seemed the happiest she had ever been, it came as a massive shock for both of us when I was given 24 hours to remove her
To this day I have never received any honest answers, just a load of back peddling
I was advised that they take kids like my daughter to make up thier (legal) quota on special needs kids that are given grants, and then bullying the parents (in my case parent) to remove them
Even with a 40% grant I still had to pay the best part of £12000 plus all the add ons
That was for the first term only
I received very little back
Not to mention it completely destroyed any confidence in my daughter
She is suffering emotionally more than before she entered Woodstock school

The school itself is bullying
Unless you have money,and lots of it, they really are not interested in helping your child progress as pronised Bullying is rife in the school but as long as you have money will go unnoticed
As a result, kids like my daughter will get blamed for everything
She was bullied by the kids and the school

Absolutely awful! I would say to avoid at all costs but luckily a new principal will be taking over. I am hoping he can clean up the school and the overall morale but there is a lot of work to be done.

The principal has no respect for her staff. I have even seen her belittling a teacher while I was subbing at the school. This school creates a culture of entitlement and coddling. Kids are not taught to be accountable for their behavior.

The principal is rude and unprofessional. The kids are out of control and disrespectful and the principal would rather give them cupcakes than to discipline them.

WES used to be a wonderful school. I was looking forward to having my child attend. However, the current administration seems very disengaged. The website has little to no information (especially compared to the other school's websites). E-mails are not returned. Concerns are not addressed. The after school program is a disaster. I am an educator in another district, and these things would not be tolerated in mine. I am seriously considering moving my child to my district even though it's further away.

I am an educator and came from Cobb County with my son. I cannot begin to say how many WONDERFUL things have come from WES. My son received his special education services beginning week 1! His teachers, therapists and administration have been absolutely amazing! We are so glad to now have Cherokee County as our permanent home!

I have had two children attend WES. My oldest is currently a Junior at Woodstock High School. When he was at WES, I absolutely loved the school. He attended from 2nd through 5th grade. So when my next little one came along, I was excited for him to attend WES as well. [NOTE: Most of the positive reviews are from years ago and not recent.] He is now in 2nd grade and has a been there since kindergarten. There is a new administration and things are not at all the same. Communication is non-existent. No one seems to care. There was an incident involving my child and when I brought it up to the principal, she told me "we have 1100 kids here and we can't watch them all". I couldn't believe it. The After School Program is horrible...from not letting him use the restroom (I picked him up one day and he was sitting in his own urine - and no one noticed - they had refused to let him go) to the ASP teachers constantly yelling at the kids. When I bring up these issues, the prinicpal says "ASP isn't for everyone". No one seems very invested in the school - the website isn't updated. I have found the office staff watching TV during school hours (when I went to have lunch). It's just not the same school it was years ago. Very sad.

There have been incidents with the same kid bullying my child (a couple of examples - one, he was physically assaulted in the restroom. My child's coat was removed and thrown in the trash. Two, he was his snacks taken away from him an destroyed). I brought these (and other) incidents up to the principal and asked how this could keep happening. She replied "we have 1100 kids and can't watch them all".

My child is actually ahead and is not challenged at all. I know it's difficult to teach to every level, but they don't even try.

My child has attended this school since Kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. I have had nothing but wonderful things to say about this school until this year. The communication is lacking to nonexistent. If you complain about about an issue, your child will be put in their cross-hairs, and suddenly start being blamed for those issues. There has been some changes within the administration. Now everything is going downhill, and fast. Not having books and study materials is unexceptable.

They overload the children with homework and expect full time working parents to teach the kids everything.

Terrible school. Very unfriendly staff. My 9 year old daughter attended this school and was constantly being bullied by several of the children in class. Every time I would try to get the school to acknowledge the issue they would treat me as if I was the one that was trying to cause them a problem. With a smile on their faces of course. This went on for 2 years. Worst experience of my daughters life. I hope no one will ever have to see their children become victims at a school that only cares about their test scores.

Any homework is too much. There are plenty of research studies to back this up as well. Any work outside of school does not provide anything extra.

The curriculum, parent involvement and the staff make this school amazing! This is the end of my daughter's third year here and she has excelled and is testing above her grade in everything.

All of the staff at WES that I have interacted with seem to genuinely care about the success of the students. They are all warm, welcoming and willing to help any way possible with student achievement. There is also a healthy amount of parent involvement, which also makes for a great school. Communication between school and home is excellent. Everyone seems to go above and beyond.

We have four children who have and are currently attending Woodstock Elementary School. We have had great teachers and a wonderful experience working with all of the faculty at WES. Our children have had different placement levels and each have found success in the education they have received. I could not be happier with the education we have received at Woodstock Elementary.

I love Woodstock Elementary. I have two daughters that I took out of private school and this is their second year at Woodstock. They absolutely love going to school everyday. They are so many programs available that meet each of their personalities. They have soared academically and are absorbing the wide array of clubs, incentives. and activities that Woodstock Elementary has to offer.

I moved my son from one shcool in the county to Woodstock Elementary and it has been the best decision I beleive I have made for him. The principal, nurse, office staff and teachers have been excellent. I tell everyone I know if there is anyway you can move to Woodstock do it! My step-daughter goes to another school in the county and I use my son's homework and books to challange her. It is a great school hands down.

Great teachers that really care about the kids! My oldest attended all 5 grades and was well prepared for Middle School. Never had any issues.

I have 2 grandchildren at Woodstock Elementary (K & 3rd). It has been a great experience...great staff and administration. As a former teacher I have to say I'm a little bit "picky" but Woodstock passes with flying colors in my book. Keep up the good work!
