They are happy to embrace your child if they fit within the strict rules and policies of the school. They only want to enroll temped mild mannered children if your child falls anywhere outside of that box I would advise against VMS.

They did a great job teaching and enabling growth but are no afraid to excuse your child with no notice from the programming to ensure their environment stays controlled.

This could be really good for some people- I get it but save yourself the drama if your child has an ounce of silliness, independence or stronger personality.

VMS is a fantastic school with qualified Montessori trained teachers! My son has been a student here for almost 9 years. He is always so excited to come to school and loves his teachers. Our friends have had two children go through the middle school here, and say that their children were highly successful in high school, not only academically but also emotionally. I have heard a lot of negative things about the local high schools and I worry about my son when he gets to this point, BUT after talking with the middle school teachers and seeing the results of some graduates, VMS middle schoolers are provided with guidance in social and emotional growth and given the tools necessary for success in high school and even college. We are definitely keeping him in this school through 8th grade!!

Outside of one outstanding toddler after care instructor and an amazing primary guide, our entire six month journey at VMS was an unmitigated disaster. School leadership is well intentioned, but patronizing and inconsistent. Communication is terrible. I spent a lot of money for a school experience that would embrace my child for who they wereand that isnt what happened. My note to the schools owners went without reply. My sister-in-law said it best (she runs a school in another town): they could have made this work. They chose jot to because there were chilsren out there who are easier because they arent as smart as your kid, and they come with the same tuition check.

Many people may not be aware that all Montessori schools are not the same and basically anyone can open a school and call it a Montessori school. I learned this the hard way when my children were starting school. So, after a bad experience, I was very careful in choosing the next school for my 3 children. I visited nearly every ACCREDITED Montessori school in the North Metro area, but when I saw Village Montessori, I knew right away that's where our family needed to be. It's very well established, has a wonderful, highly trained staff with very little turnover and is AMI certified (VERY important!). This is now our 11th, and sadly, our last year at Village (my youngest is about to graduate from the Adolescent Program) and it's been one of the best parenting decisions I've ever made! My 3 children (2 girls and a boy) could not be more different from each other , but it was a great experience for each of them for very different reasons. The teachers go above and beyond in their concern and care for their students, the administrators are professional, friendly and responsive and plan informative parent training and support events and the owners have continually invested in major improvements to the facilities and educational opportunities for the students. I could go on and on. If you are looking for an exceptional school for your children where they will be cared for, encouraged to be their best and receive an exemplary education, I would encourage you to consider Village Montessori.

We have been at this school for 6 years now. We started in primary when my older child was only 2.5 years old. I have been amazed at the breath of knowledge my oldest has gained. I've also been amazed at the depth in which she has been able to explore topics of interest to her (not just superficial exploration for a set amount of time). This year (she's in what would be the equivalent of third grade in a regular school), amongst the works she's brought home, a few that really amazed me were a long division problem that spanned the entire surface area of the carpet in my family room (6x8 ft), detailed botany drawings, detailed drawings about the solar system with the different moons and dwarf planets, geometry and the greek numeral system. She's also measured the surface area of all possible flat surfaces she's been able to find in our home. My younger child, who's now in primary (he's 3) but has gone through the toddler program, told me just two days ago that he learned how to work with the Binomial Cube. You could have knocked me down with a feather !

Our daughternow 11 years oldhas been attending Village Montessori School since she was 18 months old. The school has been like a second home to her, providing a loving, connected, and stimulating environment during her formative years, helping her grow and thrive as she got older, and setting her up for success in the future.

The value of Village became extremely clear to us when we transferred our daughter out to public school at the beginning of first grade. After a few months, we started to see a marked difference in her behavior. It was like the bright flame was getting snuffed right out of her. She was no longer interested in creating new things, drawing pictures, writing little stories, reading, and the like. Instead, she would complain about how tired she was and ask to watch televisionsomething she rarely did before. We moved her back to Village before the school year was out. We didnt even want to wait until the following year. Within a month, the flame was burning brightly again. We have never regretted our decision to return.

Have two kids currently at the school (2 & 4). The academics are excellent, and there are two teachers per class. One of my eldest sons peers was working on multiplication towards the end of last year (yes, in PreK), and both my sons are doing well. There are currently three extracurriculars offered (for an additional fee) - dance, piano, and soccer. The outdoor playground area is larger than most in Montgomery County. There is an indoor area between the classrooms large enough for the kids to play in winter when it's too cold for the children to be outside (a huge plus - since many schools just keep their kids in a classroom. However, the most important aspect is that the director cares about the kids. The director is a former teacher of Room 5 who bought the school from the former administration. She communicates with the parents (and is honest with the tough subjects). If you don't select this school for your child, best wishes and glad you found a great school. However, if, for whatever reason, you later find yourself unhappy with the school you originally placed your child (i.e. my case when I didn't know anything about MC schools) - give her a call.

Village Montessori is so much more than just a school. It's a second home, a community where children are respected, nurtured, and loved while receiving a top-notch education. Village fully embraces the AMI Montessori philosophy and employs expert teachers who uphold its rigorous standards. My oldest child is in the Elementary program and my youngest is a Primary student. I have every intention of remaining a part of the VMS family for many years to come.

Our four-year-old daughter has been attending Montessori schools since she was the minimum acceptable age of 18 months. We moved back to Atlanta in July 2012 and, after extensive research and interviewing, we chose VMS. We couldn't be happier with our decision. Our daughter is flourishing in every way at the school -- socially, intellectually, creatively and everything in between -- and we find the passion all VMSers apply themselves to their craft encouraging, energizing, inspiring and reassuring. We have a second daughter who, when old enough to enroll at VMS, will most certainly attend the school, too. Five stars for VMS. If we could give them six, we would.

My wife and I feel very fortunate that we found VMS. Our daughter has been a student there for close to 8 years, since she was 18 months old. We have been most pleased with the independence, self-confidence, and creativity that VMS has helped to foster in her. The training in courtesy, grace, and interpersonal skills that she's received there is also an aspect that is important to us. When our daughter was 6, in order to save money, we withdrew her from VMS and enrolled her in public school. Although she still excelled there and even qualified for the gifted program, we saw her passion for learning and creating, that once burned so brightly, start to dim. We withdrew her after 7 months and enrolled her back at VMS. Within two weeks, the fire was there again, and now, two years later, is still burning brightly. VMS easily gets 5 stars from us.

My son started in the toddler classroom, where I was instantly impressed by the cleanliness and order, that toddlers are not really known for. He then progressed to primary and now is in lower elementary. The most important thing I can say is that he loves going to school and he loves learning. I wish such a school was available when I was growing up, instead of the endless repetition and learning by rote, which turns off the brain and makes one study to pass a test instead of to truly learn. Also, he is not a cog in a machine, or a sheep in a flock; he is an individual. He is given the responsibility to learn (and, when there are smaller children in the class, to teach) and he grows up to it.

My son is new to Village Montessori since January '14. The foundation of a Montessori education is priceless. So, I researched many schools but knew VMS was the one from the first day during observations. I found the staff and environment what I desired for my son's introduction to the fun of learning. The Toddler teacher is peaceful and smooth along with her assistant's. It made the seperation from my son for those few hours a day as a new mom, bearable. Specifically, knowing he was in GREAT hands and learning using AMI principles. I would highly recommend the Village Montessori.

My child has been at Village since she was 17 months old, she is now ten. We have received nothing but the best of education and care. They truly function as a family at Village. Their toddler program blew us away as we watched children no older then our daughter washing their hands, using utensils to cut fruit, painting and using the class materials respectfully. In Primary we had yet another amazing teacher for three years who really helped her develop a sense of community with her other students. In Lower Elementary, she flourished and became adept at higher math concepts, comprehension skills and social graces. In fact, she scored in the 94% range nationally on the only standardized test she has ever taken. We were apprehensive about moving her to Upper Elementary; they care for chickens, they have a woodworking section, and it would be her first male teacher-but she has loves it! Perhaps the best thing about Montessori in general and Village is that they do not tolerate becoming a breeding ground for gossip or maliciousness toward other students. These years can be a treacherous time for girls and I do not have to worry that her classmates will undermine her self esteem.

My kids have been attending Village Montessori for over 5 years and we cannot say enough great things about the staff and structure. The office is super friendly and they have always taken amazing care of our children and their needs from 18 months to now they are 3 and 7. We highly recommend this experience for you and your children!

VMS is a dream come true for my family. My daughter began in primary at age 3 and it was the perfect fit for this very curious and independent child. Three years later, she was reading and writing and adding multiple digit numbers and more - and ENJOYING the process. She also transformed into a nurturing person as she became one o the oldest in her class and took joy in helping the younger students. I thought we would move her out of the school for elementary on e she had the foundational skills down, but we couldn't bring ourselves to move her anywhere else. Now, she is in lower elementary, researching and presenting and learning so much! It is thrilling to watch! My younger daughter is now in primary. She is so very different from her older sister but thriving just the same in her very safe and reliable community where she is being encouraged and guided and certainly gaining a desire for independence. The staff at the school are professional yet warm. The Parent Association is creative and caring. The owners of the school are parents and truly care about the families and the students. I love this community and treasure each year my girls have the privilege of participating!

Village Montessori is a great school where your child will receive the best foundation for individual development and exceptional academic growth. The staff is excellent and hold true to the Montessori standards and values. My children have completed the toddler and elementary programs at Village Montessori and have transitioned into traditional schooling smoothly. This is an exceptional school! My older daughter is in her fifth year at Village Montessori, my younger daughter in her second year. I intend to continue their education at Village through 6th grade, or longer if the opportunity arises. Village Montessori School has excellent teacher retention, gorgeous and captivating classrooms, and outdoor spaces for the children which include gardens, natural play areas, and a sports field. Most important to me, however, is the kind and peaceful community the teachers and students have created. I see my two daughters being nurtured and challenged. I can't imagine a better way for them to spend their day!

This is a true (AMI) Montessori school. We started at 19 mo. Here, we found an exceptionally clean and well maintained environment, long term staff (you won't find that at any daycare). Our daughter eased into the transition with toddler summer camp, in the toddler class for a year and blossomed into a very independent person, now in the primary class..We have participated in after school activities (soccer and dance) with excellent, caring instructors as well. The alumni session invited past students back to speak to parents and answer questions. This was truly excellent to hear how their transitions to other schools was easier than their non Montessori peers, their focus and interest in learning was beneficial and how well prepared they were for advanced academics. The teachers have always kept us well informed in regular formal and informal updates and learning opportunities. Fellow parents are very involved so it feels like family. Like others, if additional school yrs are added, we will continue beyond grade 6. Highly recommended.

I'm very happy with this school. We started out just sending my daughter for toddler daycare but as we familiarized ourselves with the staff and learned more about Montessori education, we decided to stay through Primary. We had the full intention of moving to public school at first grade (we moved to our home because of its location to Mountain Park Elementary) but met with the Lower Elementary teacher and discussed my daughter's education and future at length. After that meeting, there was no turning back. We were completely sold! Now my daughter's in second year Lower El and we couldn't be happier with the education she's received and the person she is becoming. She's so very happy. VMS is like her second home. And ours too!

Village Montessori has some great teachers who are dedicated to bringing out the best in each child. My child has been attending the school for 3 years and has truly blossomed. The school is a true Montessori school which is so important when choosing a Montessori style education for your child. I got my money's worth and then some.

We have two children at Village. The environment is fantastic. We can see a clear different in our child's development vs. other six year olds both socially and academically. The school has a focus on total development of the child (not just teaching them what the state would test them on). Village is one of the only true Montessori schools in our area. We would highly recommend parents look into this school for their children.

My daughter has attended Village for almost two years now (19months-3yrs old). Village Montessori really has enhanced her life. At 3 yrs old, she has mastered her ABC's, can recognize numbers and count, has made friends on her own, speaks in complete sentences, has become amazingly independent, and is beginning to read and write. The staff at Village is super friendly and correct any problems quickly and efficiently. I will be putting my son in Village when he gets to be 18 months old.

My daughter has attended this school for the past two years and I can't say enough good things about it. Her knowledge and personallity have blossomed under their teachers and we are very proud. The teaching and administrative staff are top notch and friendly.

My daughter has attended this school for the past 4 years. I couldn't be more pleased with the staff and teachers in their quest for excellence with the students. Parental involvement is very strong and positive. I could not imagine my daughter attending a different school. Village Montessori has exceeded my expectations of what I expected from a private school. They only serve students through the 6th grade but if they were to add grades 7 and 8, our patronage of the school would continue.

Village Montessori is the real deal. They bring it all together with teachers carefully selected at each age level, an administration working very closely with teachers and parents. Well thought out and managed structure and orderliness in almost literally every corner of the school. My career has been helping world class organizations build a culture of continuous learning and improvement... it always starts on a foundation of dedication to people, well defined systems and standards, and then endless rounds of discovery and improvement all set in the safe medium of open trusting communication and respect. Maria Montessori established a template for this in education. Village Montessori truly delivers on this. Our son started here at 24 months, he is a bright cookie anyway, but the timing was perfect, he blossoms at this early age with a love of school, and solid foundation of responsibility and choices. you see this calm orderly 'togetherness' in all the children at all levels. We have visited many schools that claim montessori or that describe other experience based education but which fail to bring it all together.

This is an excellent montessori school. I believe by observing my own child, how well the montessori teaching method works. This school strives to help the students learn academically, socially, emotionally and everything in between. I am so happy I found this school for my 3 year old daughter.
